Crikey I admire you being able to persist with looking over the cars let alone going back with the intention to buy when having to deal with all that earbashing! Well done and thanks for filming it.
Nothing worse than someone trying to tell you stuff when you’re looking over a car. When I sell a car I let people do their own thing and I am nearby to answer questions. When I look at a car I expect to look over it in my own time and not have to listen to them rabbit on.
Greetings from the US outside of Philadelphia. Happy to have found your channel, very underrated and I just finished watching every video! Something about all their banter makes me think there is more to the story with those sellers. What I do know for certain is that if they are actually not selling, they won't be doing anything to sort them. Keep up the great content!!
Thanks mate I'm glad to have you on board! I'm not sure about how they came in possession of those cars, but I found some previous history. I have just posted an update
Love how you look at each potential project with an open mind as you go through the inspection. The time wasting was disappointing but was still great to see a very different series one. Great to see another video from you.
That was a great video Brett the Ragtop certainly would be a challenge and quite a cost to restore I think shame they pulled the rug from under you still they might come back with their tails between the legs on a note from me I have my 1995 XJS Convertible back from the shop waithing on a replacement parking brake but she drive great with all the work that was done it will be my daily driver for a while as my other car was totalled anyway as always best regards Andy Allen.
I've just discovered your channel, and am enjoying it very much. They didn't seem to appreciate the classic joke about the two Jags! I live in Maitland, and often wonder about the Jaguars parked in the paddock out of Clarencetown, from memory an S -type, an XJ and maybe a MK2? I'm sure there's a story there!
Love the videos....these cars are dreadful in so many ways....yet addictive....Im tinkering with a usa xj6 at the moment.....the electrics are such a joy!!!.....my heart sank when I saw the tangle of wires underneath the dash on the black one......St Jude would weep !
Watched your video and messaged my old friend who was Leyland Australia Purchasing Manager for many years until they were closed down. Tells me that all black Jaguar XJ6 and XJ12 cars were special orders through JRA UK, who still held control of Jaguar back then. That black XJ6 would be one of them if it has Australian compliance. Cheers.
Wayne, that why I'm very interested in this car, plus its factory black. I can image how nice it would look fully worked, convert to a manual, new paint, new top, triples etc etc
You could straight away Brett that those blokes really knew what they were talking about. With their knowledge I reckon they will restore both those cars themselves and sell them for a BIG profit. I don’t think you could tell them anything. Oh well….maybe you dodged a bullet. That targa top was certainly unusual. It was a LOT of work though. Couldn’t see you making any money on that one.
As we say in Dublin, he sounded like a complete chancer. Personally, I think I might have told him to f..k off and let me look at the bloody car without the running commentary but I guess I don't have your patience Brett.
I have seen this conversion on another one before so it seems to have been a thing back then. I don't mind a challenge, but just about everything needs doing to this one. A gurney. buff and new fuel ain't going to cut it. I think you'll get fed up looking at it, at any price before you get it running. Good luck, but enjoy the drive in the x308.
The seller talkig crap like a junk yard car dealer he probably was , ive worked in that industry but he kept spinning crap to ya even when you said you know jags inside out , now someone interested in it they all get excited and think its worth more , give it a few weeks try them again 😉
I would have to agree with most of the comments - run and run fast. Nothing special about either of the cars - both require full restoration - you barely have room for the tidyups you do now without full restorations. I think you dodged a bullet - be thankful and hope they do not came back to you.
I was going to offload the white one, and the x308 will on the market soon. The black car was in good condition and I was happy to put some money in it. I have a full manual conversion that I need to use and think the s1 would have suited it, rebuild the motor, full paint job, a set of triple csrbs I still have
I'm not sure if it is Alex The white one has minor rust, the black one, no rust. You would be surprised how good I believe the black on will come up just with a clean. Anyway, I didn't get to have it
Always have to be careful with convertibles , even with cats with sunroofs.....water and steel , especially in "A" pillar drainage pipes are not good in older cars.. I think it's good you didn't buy
Crikey I admire you being able to persist with looking over the cars let alone going back with the intention to buy when having to deal with all that earbashing! Well done and thanks for filming it.
He was pretty bad! I just turn off

Very annoying
And boy, did he rabbit on 🥵🥶. Remarkable patience Brett, I'd have said something to him for sure.
Awful....couldn't shut up
might be a blessing in disguise Brett

Good video buddy hello from the US. I live in Kentucky..
Hey, thanks, David
Great to have you back, I really enjoyed the video 😊

Thanks Mark
The black one's interior looks like a 70s Sydney ladies house of marginal repute
🤣👍
That's why I loved it so much?

Yes, Phillip, I have read that, too. And this one was AU compliance
Full clip on conversion.. neat..

Run a mile mate dont touch them
Well. I liked it. But I think you dodged a bullet with that one. It just had that look about it and the sales guy. O well.

Greetings from a daily commuter between Serbia & Hungary, South-East Europe. Still, the Red one looks better!
Wow, I love having a world audience 👍
Lucky escape there I say
hmm the black one has interesting potential imo ,a possible diamond in the rough there ...if it is dirt cheap.
It was cheap
Series 2 thanks😎
Brett there’s projects and then there’s parts cars …. These are the third…. Junk. Run mate run … these are done
I love a challenge 😁
Hi mate where do you buy your online parts from
Mainly ebay,
Jagdaim Melbourne,
Sng Barrett ,
Or I just google the part
As we say in Dublin, he sounded like a complete chancer. Personally, I think I might have told him to f..k off and let me look at the bloody car without the running commentary but I guess I don't have your patience Brett.
Im used to it, but surprising Colm, he ended up not being such a bad bloke

This one, I would have been happy to put serious money into it.
It would be a cracker of a car done up.
The seller talkig crap like a junk yard car dealer he probably was , ive worked in that industry but he kept spinning crap to ya even when you said you know jags inside out , now someone interested in it they all get excited and think its worth more , give it a few weeks try them again 😉
He was a classic, wasn't he! But I'm very used to them. There's still a chance!
@@tjmthejagmandownunder give them time you'll win in the end 🙂
Probably best to walk away from that one Brett, even if it was cheap, probably would have turned into a great big bottomless money pit !

Well Brett if the purchase does go ahead - I wish you well on the project - I guess your progress will provide us with lots of great videos 👍
Red one needs to be fully stripped and restored black one needs just as much work. Unless your got a shit load of cash I would keep away from both.
Not sure these are worth the time. The white S1 XJ6 is better than that!
I'm not sure if it is Alex
The white one has minor rust, the black one, no rust. You would be surprised how good I believe the black on will come up just with a clean. Anyway, I didn't get to have it

Waste of time.offer less money for it
