- We still have things to do on the big V12 but its now a very drivable and hopefully reliable 4 door cruiser. but what did it cost me to get it to this stage, stay watching to find out.
Brett, I only came across your channel recently and I am going through your videos car by car. As a jag nutter, I am really enjoying them. You have an amazing motor here for a couple of beers short of 13000 euros .... I know that your time isin't costed into that but you obviously love what you do with these beautiful cars, so it's a labour of love. Keep up your good work and I will buy you a midi or two next year when I come down under for the Lions tour.👍
Awesome, thank you!
few things more beautiful than a series 3 XJ12. love how she turned out
I think you have done a really great job with this one Brett the thing with Jags you never know how much it will be in the end looks like a good investment to me I hope it gives you many hours of Jaguar happiness best wishes Andy Allen.
Well done the series 3 has come up a treat.
Love your videos. Lots of great information and very entertaining. Keep them coming please. 👍👍👍
Thanks mate. Spread the word!
Its looking and sounding great.good job done i would say and another one saved.👍
Thanks Ivan
Well done, great work. Enjoy that dream car & thanks for sharing with us.
Brett, If there was any doubt you are indeed THE JAG MAN , this video at $21k outgoings will put that notion to rest. I think we are all furtunate you are not in politics , the nation's finances are screwed enough as it is :)))))) !
Awesome car buddy !!
Peter
❤Absolutely awesome bret really enjoyed seeing this one mate and glad you got her and made her beautiful again ❤
Fantastic. I always think the first or previous owners would be interested in cars I keep alive but it's not happened yet!
Just found your channel. Love the old jags. Worked out coogee. Keep up the good work
Thanks for the thumbs up 👍
When all is said and done it was well worth the time, effort and expense. You have a beautiful, comfortable, powerful, reliable car that turns heads for 1/4 to 1/5 of the price of a modern equivalent. I love these old Jags.
Beautiful cars my uncle had one in the 70s the series 2 lavender with navy interior ❤ UK 🇬🇧 btw ✌️
20 k hay so what just look at the results simply stunning I'd be proud to own that jag well done drive it and enjoy it
There Brett I enjoy your show keep up the greatwork
Great job mate small price for such a great car 👍👍
Harry's Garage brought me here!
lovely car, fabulous colour
Nice car. I had a 4.2 the same colour loved it.
Love the V12 ........enjoy it.
That is a good looking jaguar I like the color..I'm looking for another one in good shape probably a 02 model I think it's the last year of the design I have a 99 vanden plas I'm looking for another vanden because I like the extra gadgets on them..
Dam it, now I want a series 3 V12....lol
Great video thanks
Looks a beaut.
I reckon she is worth every penny!
That sounded so good going up that hill - there is no sound quite like a V12 Jag under load!
Lovely car you would have a hard time finding one over hear.
hi there thewre harness you put on your car wil rest the ecu to learn again mode like no power its goes after a bit of running rev it to 2000 revs and hold it there for a minite then let it idile you will notice power loss if you dissconect the battery so when you take the leads off the battery it will go into learn mode again ..overide the battery with jump leads and have another battery link to keep the memory.. simon
I know it's easy to say but there's more to life (and Jags) than money. What you've done (and deserve applause for) is brought a classic back from the brink. Would you make a profit if you sold it?....... Possibly not..........Are you a bloody star for doing it anyway? Too right!
In any case, $21k sounds like a bargain to me. Currently, Gerald (my Series 2 XJ12) owes me about $40K.....for a car that's probably worth $30K. Do I care? No!!!!........ However, the same can't be said for the missus. 🤣🤣
Thanks Mark Gerald sounds like a nice car!
I see you had roof lining done. Did you fit it yourself. If so was it difficult.
Yes and easy. Just make all your clips are in good order. Also if you have a sunroof ensure to allow 50mm of fabric unglued at rear of the sunroof to clue over its frame after installed as it may sag in the middle. My lesson learnt!
If you knock off the expenses and taxes / duties etc. then the cost will be more realistic as regards the value of the car.
Shame the injector harness didn't have heat shielding... a bit stingy that.
I've got one... can you tell me whodid the rust?
Hi send me an email Thejagmandownunder@gmail.com
If you had to choose just one Jag, which would it be ? V12 XJS, XJ12 series 1, 2 or 3 ?
My 6 litre XJC would be the keeper
Even one you buy for $12000 AUD will need work at least this way you know you have a good car that will get to places and if you keep it for a bit the money you spent will be spread over time because you are not spending continuedly fixing issues
I have a green one..need to sort screen rust :-(
It’s interesting to know how much is spent but I never treat my cars or bikes as an ’investment’ so I don’t worry if I lose money on them. I tell myself I’m spending that part of my disposable income on something that gives me enjoyment and treat them as an expense that you might get something back on if you eventually choose to sell. Great video as usual. Did you mention Newcastle display day? When is that? Thought it is usually June.
Thanks Greg
Myself being a bit of a buyer and seller I always look at it both ways. I guess the costing was if someone wanted to do similar restoration they know what their up for. Newcastle display do is on tomorrow 22nd just deciding what Jag to take.. Appreciate your support thanks.
@@tjmthejagmandownunder I might bring the XJS in or should I bring the XKR? I can only drive one at a time.
Id like to see the XKR
@@tjmthejagmandownunder I can’t find a link to the show, I’ll keep searching for details but if you have a link can you post it?
I think these Series 3 XJ12's will become increasingly sought after, especially as V12's become such a rarity in world moving towards EV's.
That Series Daimilar Double-Six VDP you missed out on was lovely but the paint (no lacquer / clear coat over the metallic finish) can be problematic.
Have you seen this review on them from Iain Tyrrell's Classic Workshop:

Love your work
Thank you! Cheers!
There Brett I enjoy your show keep up the greatwork
Thanks Frank
