There are no cars on the island. The only way to get around is bicycles and the utility vehicles are electric golf carts charged by sunlight. The backup generators run on coconut oil or biofuel made from used cooking oil or left over food waste. All the lighting is LED and even the high speed internet and all the computers are powered by sunlight. Even the drinking straws are made of- …well… straw! It’s amazing how simple things can be, even in one of the most luxurious resorts in the world. You may be thinking this is only for the rich. Remember, when I first moved to Las Vegas and had very little money, I showed how I powered almost the entire property with solar panels. The secret isn’t how much power you generate, but how efficient everything is. I insulated the place so well, I didn’t need air conditioning until 2 in the afternoon, even when it was 120 degrees outside! I made a DVD about it called Solar Power4me. No ocean near by? No problem! You can still create natural air conditioning by digging a 2 foot wide pipe 6-8 feet underneath your entire property which comes up inside your living living room. All you need is a fan to pull the underground cold air up into the house. There is ALWAYS a way. Always. Ride a bicycle more, grow your own food if you can, eat more wild plants, insulate your home more and switch to LED lighting. I hope this video opened your eyes to the possibilities. Great video with so many interesting information, and Boris explains everything so nice and simple. The Brando's atoll is mesmerizing and the eco solutions are just wonderful. Marlon Brando was years if not centuries ahead of his time. In one of his last interviews with Larry King in 1994, he speaks about the environment, green power, CO2 emission, etc. There are a lot of people who are speaking about how he gathered the best entomologists all around the world in order to find a solution for the mosquitoes, the best environmentalists for finding solutions for many things, scientists, researchers, established laboratories which were destroyed by hurricanes and renewed again and again.
He was a man with great vision, inventor (patented patents for drums), activist for civil rights (marched with M.L.King), speaks loud about racism, supported native Indians in their rights, even spent 10% of his annual salary for many years for that cause. He was and is the greatest actor ever, but also a great human being and visioner. I am not sure how he would perceive the luxury concept with his island, but I am very happy to see that many of his ideas, hopes, and dreams about eco island became true.

LOVED THIS ENTIRE VIDEO! Reverse Osmosis water can be plumbed into your home, with a small faucet to each sink. We have one unit in our furnace room, and had water lines plumed to the sinks in the house when we built. It uses water pressure, no electricity. (Kinetico)You can drink it, and it tastes very clean. To supplement the minerals, we use 1 tsp a day of liquid minerals (from the ocean or inland seas that extract the liquid minerals), which the body easily absorbs.
Do you live by the ocean (I mean, where do you get your water from)?
My mom has a home unit. Consumer Reverse Osmosis systems are not designed or intended for ocean water, they are mainly to filter toxic city tap water which is full of chlorine, heavy metals and sludge from 50 year old old underground rusty water pipes. House pipes have either solder or PVC toxins. They use water pressure from the city water to function, but the big RO system in this video is an industrial design requiring much more power to push mineral dense sea water through the membranes. I hope this helps.

Good ideas. LED lights are noticeably flicker-intensive, however, so I think those are actually counter-productive to a healthy life. There is still much work to be done to find the balance between comfortable living standards and eco-fascism. Not accusing this channel with promoting the latter, only to raise awareness that it is a real emerging phenomenon.

I'm so glad you posted this because it's something we would never see in mainstream. I'm gonna show this to my daughter and her friends, hopefully it will start a ripple effect. These teens in our country need a paradigm shift to change their realty. I appreciate you showing us the Brando and his marvelous technology. I've seen many earth homes and environmental conscious homes implementing all these systems - even using pipes deep in the earth to pull cool air - but to seen all these processes done for a whole spa... Very impresive! ...why isn't it being done everywhere?!
