I still use my ourobouruobourururuous to this day, 7 years of service for me and only changed the rechargeable battery two times. So, all in all a 120$ mouse over 7 years that's like 17 bucks a year. Still works like new, not even changed pads and still using my Razer Goliathus team Alliance mouspad. Good products.
about the ringfinger "complayn" i have to say if you use the mouse with 3 fingers (index finger on lmb, middlefinger on wheel and ringfinger on rmb) this mouse is amazingly comfortable do to the side rest for both thumb and pinky finger
This thing may be over priced, but if you're like me, looking for an ambidextrous wireless mouse, there's not really many options. Us lefties don't get much love.

In my opinion Razer is overrated. I've heard a lot of people say bad things about the Razer Naga and its the same problem everyone has. But that's just me. The only thing that I really like from Razer is the Oroboros, Keyboards, mouse pads xD, and their cases.

But I partially agree with you that they are a little overrated. I also own a Razer Mantis Speed mouse pad. Got it on 2009 and I absolutely love it :)
I actually got the mouse pad for free when i bought a copy of the orange box. The Naga really performs well and I think i got exactly what i paid for :) + a 2 year warranty which is always a plus :)
Honestly, the best and most comfortable mouse ever is the logitech mx performance and I LOVE it. Been using it for ages and never ever regretted the purchase.
Lol to be honest, i wouldn't really get this. Just looks like a normal mouse with buttons at the side and just a bit more shaped to fit the hand with magnetic plastic parts, ok but definitely not worth the price they're putting it at..
Really it depends on your use. It's not really that much of an investment when you think about how much the average girl uses on clothes a year(or 'fashist', hurr hurr xD). Imo, if you like gaming, and have the money to spare; why not? (unless you're saving for something else, of course!)
It is a little pricey for a mouse, but until you actually hold one and use it do you actually understand it's true qualities. It can be adjusted to perfectly (or as close to perfect as any mouse has gotten) fit your hand. And then there's the ability to change dpi with shear ease on the fly while snipping is worth every penny. So yea, it's a bit pricey and even a little odd looking, but it is one of the best out there.

I have been using Rats for 3years now I have to say that they are extremely good mices but only problem is durability, ive had 2 rats now and the first one was rat 5 and it had connection issues after a year and now I have mmo 7 (rat 7) and after a year left click didnt work... I like the better that the disengage mechanism. my friends ouroboros's disengage mechanism broke when he was trying to change to a different battery and had to sent it back in to let the warranty do it's magic. The mouse is not actually that expensive, you could get it for like 75$ on eBay and 100$ for refurbished on amazon so if you buy it on those prices it’s actually pretty worth it
So about that "sniping" button (it's called sensitivity clutch or something). I remember hearing in a review that it is really difficult to press, you have to apply much force to it, then you're pressing the buttons on the right simultaneously ect ect. So what I've discovered once I got the mouse - the clutch IS nearly impossible to press with a fingertip grip. You basically have to press the button so hard that the pinky on the right side of the mouse can barely stand the pressure. BUT With a claw or palm grip you almost don't feel the tension because you're actually holding the mouse more than just fingertips. The thumb is at the front end of the button so you don't need too much force. I have a fingertip grip. I used to. But I think that was due to the fact that I have BIG hands and all my previous mice were just not comfortable to put a whole hand on them. Now this little fella can fit perfectly in my hand :) As for the ring finger, I rest my on that bent part of the right side of the mouse, just next to the RMB. I CAN actually reach both buttons with pinky that way, but I prefer to turn the mouse slightly to the left (which is also comfortable position for me) and press them with my ring finger. No I don't turn the mouse for each press, I just switch to a different grip when I know I'll be using those buttons more (I don't use them much). But again, I have big hands.
I wanna see that as well... But from business perspective, I doubt it will happen... What you can do is go to a nearest NCIX shop, and if you're lucky, they might have both in-store. I'm sure people from NCIX are more than happy to help you. You can try your luck by asking them to let you experience both (if they have them) hands on, and judge for yourself. Try asking them if you can test while playing a game. Ouroboros is $20 cheaper and ambidextrous.
I am using a Rat 5 mouse at the moment and it actually is a very similar mouse. It has most of the same adjustments, including the length adjustment, but it is lacking the tilt of the back. It has a rest on the left side also, but it is no adjustable. Rat 5 also has the headshot (DPI dropper) in the thumb position and includes a weight adjustment.
I use two D/CPI settings, 1200 and 2400, and use 2400 for desktop and games that don't have their own sensitivity, and 1200 for FPS fullscreen games. That charging station looks dope af. I've never really looked at this mouse before, although I've heard of it, didn't realize it had this much customization.
What is with gaming mice and crazy high DPI? For FPS you want to play with a very low sensitivity, so in order to use 8200 DPI you would need to set an ingame sensitivity to like 1%. Most games don't even support precise sensitivity settings, so you would end up with a scale from 1 to 10, and to use even 1 you would need not more than 2-4k DPI on a mouse depending on the game.
***** To explain simply - your hand movements are more precise with increased mouse travel distance. So, low DPI practically translates to more precision. As a comparison, try to draw a circle in some program with 4000-8000 DPI, and then with 400 DPI. Compare the results.
***** Actually, that's not completely true. I've tested myself to see if the difference between 1800 DPI and 3500 DPI can be seen, and when I set the sensitivity to be about the same on both (you can easily adjust it with Razer drivers, so no need for game settings there) the 3,5k one was more accurate. In other words, Higher DPI = more accuracy, but if you want to do very precise stuff, you need to lower down the sensitivity, simple as that.
I agree with everything you said. I've had mine for about a month now, and I've looked at a bunch of reviews, but most of them were pretty subjective. This one is great!! The only thing I'd add, not that it really matters is; there's no weighing system in this one. However, the battery acts like a small weight if you play with it wired. Also you can use the mouse without a battery as long as it is plugged. It's also blessing to those on OSX who are FORCED to play with crap mouse acceleration.
Through the whole video I was considering getting it. The wireless had me a bit concerned but that little bit at the end sold me. Holy crap that's awesome.
it has interchangeable side pieces you can use the winged side or the grippy sides...i personally would go with a winged side for my pinky and a grip side for my thumb...the winged side are to keep your fingers off the mouse pad...i believe they are just plastic..and the grip side is rubber and can be used as a button.
Had this mouse for a few days now and when everything is set up, and up to date, i must say its a damn delight to use this mouse! And its awesome even when not using it, just sitting there badass by the computer! Had some issues at first but resolved them all! A tip though, remove the adjustable backpiece altogether and use the mouse without it! Personal preference perhaps but IMO it becomes way more comfortable without it!
Im hooked on buying mice, i own tonnes but this one went back in the box after a couple of hours it just feels odd. I use a claw style grip with 3fingers. Great reviews thanks.
Does the scroll wheel only have a smooth 'flywheel' mode? Or does it have a ratchet mode, as well? I am looking to use this for CAD work, so I need robustness, accurate tracking - and very importantly, I need to click the middle button (scroll wheel) *without* spinning it (because this zooms the view in my CAD program). I have been using a Logitech M705 and the buttons wear out after 3-4 years - they start to double click when they should just single click. Battery life is incredible - 2-3 *years*, which is mind blowing, really. But the buttons fail.
The best gaming mouse is the mad catz M.M.O 7, you can customise it from mini hands to basketball player hands, it's got loads of buttons including a precision aim button which slows the dpi for maximum accuracy. And it averages for only $80
You have the Ouroboros? If you'd take the time, I'd love to hear what you think about it. What kind of grip do you use, what do you use it for (gaming, something else, etc.) and are there any bad/not so good parts about it? Would love to have one myself, but I'm not yet 100% convinced it's the best choice for me :)
ive had this mouse for a while now, and the only con i can say is that sometimes the cursor will jump across the screen. one thing i have been searching an answer for is that when i put the battery in for the first time, the lights looked bright, then then suddenly became dim. i have in synapse the brightness all the way up, i dont know if its malfunctioning, or thats just how it is. the video looks like its brighter than mine is currently. also i want to add that the battery razer provided stopped charging after a while, so i got the NiMH rechargeable batteries and i havent had any issues as far as that goes
just a topic i'd like to point out: in what way is a wireless mouse a better choice than a wired mouse for gaming? do you guys find it worth buying an expensive mouse just because it can be used wireless? i use my razer naga at 5000dpi, i play dota 2 and i can safely say that those concerns about wire drag or whatever the term is called is pretty much bullshit. at 5000dpi moving the cursor from the left to the right of my 1080p screen takes only about a centimeter or so and a slight knock on the table moves my cursor considerably. the wire? no problem.
ive been using this mouse for about 5 months now and my only complaint is battery life. i see myself using it wired more than wireless more of the time because the wireless only last 2-4 hours. other wise its a nice mouse and i cant tell the difference between wired mode vs wireless.
I have this mouse since april 2017, and I love it, the looks and the size. I really have very large hand and this mouse is perfect for my taste. Only Issues I had were the battery died at the end of first year right grip panel's rubber peeled off in mid second year.
The Ouroboros just looks so much better. It has more DPI than you will probably ever need. All my friends that ever used a RAT are saying that they got tired of it, and now hate it.
I still like mine. and when your mousewheel gets squeaky then just treat it with some oily contact cleaner. Just be careful not to get it under the rubber or it will start sliding. It will stop working after that for a while and you have to play with the wheel for many hours before it starts working again. but man its smooth after that, and precise.
Ok I am getting my FIRST gaming mouse. I am using a generic Logitech wireless mouse right now that I thought was a godlike mouse for gaming. Then I saw people paying over $100 for mice. I was at first confused, why is their mouse different from mine? Well then I saw the Razor Naga Epic, with macro keys on the side and special grips. I also saw this one, but what is the real difference between the two? I do not play a lot of MMOs, but I do play some (1 or 2). Is that enough to get a whole MMO mouse? (Naga Epic) I play Dota 2, Counter Strike, Garry's Mod, Elder Scrolls Online, and some other games. MY friend has a Naga 2014 wired mouse for Dota 2 and he says he loves it. I am looking for advice on which mouse to get. I am getting a wireless mouse because it suits me better. So I am ONLY looking at Razor Naga Epic or Razor Ouroboros which do I choose?
Subbed, you really talked about Everything i need to know since im a big spender when it comes to games i really enjoyed all information... Thank you very much.
Yes, you might say it's a Cyborg R.A.T 7/9 copycat, BUT this looks to me like a better implementation than the rat, with angle adjustment of the palm rest, gearlocks, and magnetic pieces as opposed to screws. Also, Cyborg wasn't the first to produce customizable mice.
i got the Razer Ouroboros, Razer Deathstalker Ultimate, Razer Kraken 7.1, Razer Vespula, And the Razer Orbweaver... together they are AWESOME!!!! i swear... it is expensive but its worth it
Hey man! I'm thinking of getting the Ouroboros. I'm just waiting for my current mouse to break itself. Gimme a heads up with regards to your mouse's performance and condition in a few weeks, if it isn't too much of a hassle.
I still use mine in 2019, i have big hands and this is the best feeling mouse ive ever used, I love the side buttons although had to Disable the ones on the right side due to accidental presses.
I still use mine too, and I still really like it. I actually only had to replace the battery in it a couple months ago too. It's done really well over the years.
Excellent unboxing and first look, thanks - New Sub. for sure! p.s. loved the G7 - the most comfortable mouse I have ever used - I have not found a mouse that does not give me cramp ever since - hence now looking at the Ouroboros so your review was a real help! Thanks again!
BTW the thing has some kind of special micro suction rubber on the bottom that if you push it onto a surface itll stick like a magnet. i have it on the side of my desk for days now and it hasnt moved at all. can even support the weight of the mouse
You know what? Get R.A.T. 7 instead. I have both of them, and Ouroboros sucks. First of all, you can't use it until Synapse completely starts up, before that mouse freezes every few seconds. Performance is sometimes inconsistent. And although I have average size hands, I can't adjust the palm rest height comfortably. No such problem with R.A.T.
Hi I am looking for a game mouse and did saw this in the pc shop , but I don know how good is this mouse , and is it worth to invest or not ? Thank for the video :)
I had this Mouse and I dont think it tracks that well. Buy the new death adder if u are looking for razer...it is amazing and not even that expensive (and chroma)
It's completely horrible. I got it last week and I really tried to like it for the whole week, but ended up taking it back to the store. It's extremely uncomfortable, it rears easily lifting the sensor of the mousepad since there is a small gap at the very back of the mouse and it creaks and just feel cheap overall. It's a premium mouse with a premium price tag, but all you get is a nice packaging. I traded it in for an Asus Spatha instead and it's fantastic. Comfortable and sturdy with a great batterylife. So i recommend that one if you use a palm grip like me and like a larger size and weight.
You can still buy this from razer for 500 dollars.
why 500
I saw an ad for 500 and had to look this up

With a claw or palm grip you almost don't feel the tension because you're actually holding the mouse more than just fingertips. The thumb is at the front end of the button so you don't need too much force.
I have a fingertip grip. I used to. But I think that was due to the fact that I have BIG hands and all my previous mice were just not comfortable to put a whole hand on them. Now this little fella can fit perfectly in my hand :)
As for the ring finger, I rest my on that bent part of the right side of the mouse, just next to the RMB.
*****
To explain simply - your hand movements are more precise with increased mouse travel distance.
No, unless you are playing gun games, but not everyone plays that
***** ok, more dpi is just pixel mouvent... so If with the new monitors (4K) U would need alot more dpi than a normal 1920x1080
Liperium
Well yeah, this is probably the most useful application. Still, you don't need 8k dpi for that.
Another awesome video pushing me to put this in the ELMHD hardware shopping list.
I bought this mouse 6 years ago an its still going strong an I love it!
it has interchangeable side pieces you can use the winged side or the grippy sides...i personally would go with a winged side for my pinky and a grip side for my thumb...the winged side are to keep your fingers off the mouse pad...i believe they are just plastic..and the grip side is rubber and can be used as a button.
best reviews on YT :)
most informative, and taken from each side view, bravo again.
own this mouse to this day and it never worked wirelessly for more than an hour
Had this mouse for a few days now and when everything is set up, and up to date, i must say its a damn delight to use this mouse! And its awesome even when not using it, just sitting there badass by the computer! Had some issues at first but resolved them all!
A tip though, remove the adjustable backpiece altogether and use the mouse without it! Personal preference perhaps but IMO it becomes way more comfortable without it!
One of your best reviews.
But the buttons fail.
it's just a regular AA battery. Razer just gives you a non-branded one, but if that one dies, you can get almost any other rechargable battery
Hey Linus
Does the mouse feel good in your hand? And would you recommend the mouse?
Thanks
Awesome review man, really informative, pretty much covered all the points I would've thought of
Turn your mouse sensitivity down in windows to make higher DPIs usable. I use 8200 dpi but needed to move windows mouse slider down one notch.
Extremely Nice Review !! Gratz Dude !!
Would love to have one myself, but I'm not yet 100% convinced it's the best choice for me :)
ive had this mouse for a while now, and the only con i can say is that sometimes the cursor will jump across the screen. one thing i have been searching an answer for is that when i put the battery in for the first time, the lights looked bright, then then suddenly became dim. i have in synapse the brightness all the way up, i dont know if its malfunctioning, or thats just how it is. the video looks like its brighter than mine is currently. also i want to add that the battery razer provided stopped charging after a while, so i got the NiMH rechargeable batteries and i havent had any issues as far as that goes
how long have you had it for? ive had mine for about a year now and it still works perfectly
just a topic i'd like to point out: in what way is a wireless mouse a better choice than a wired mouse for gaming? do you guys find it worth buying an expensive mouse just because it can be used wireless?
i use my razer naga at 5000dpi, i play dota 2 and i can safely say that those concerns about wire drag or whatever the term is called is pretty much bullshit. at 5000dpi moving the cursor from the left to the right of my 1080p screen takes only about a centimeter or so and a slight knock on the table moves my cursor considerably. the wire? no problem.
ive been using this mouse for about 5 months now and my only complaint is battery life. i see myself using it wired more than wireless more of the time because the wireless only last 2-4 hours. other wise its a nice mouse and i cant tell the difference between wired mode vs wireless.
Can I use any NiMH rechargeable batteries with this?
Yes you can, as long as they're AA
I have this mouse since april 2017, and I love it, the looks and the size. I really have very large hand and this mouse is perfect for my taste. Only Issues I had were the battery died at the end of first year right grip panel's rubber peeled off in mid second year.
just bought mine after watching the review thanks a bunch man
ur awesome Linus! love ur unboxing videos
Thanks for review. It was awesome as usual. Really worth to watch. Thanks again.
The Ouroboros just looks so much better. It has more DPI than you will probably ever need. All my friends that ever used a RAT are saying that they got tired of it, and now hate it.
I had one, but can't find it anymore. Should I buy another Ouroboros, or get a different mouse? Is it still good in 2016?
I still like mine. and when your mousewheel gets squeaky then just treat it with some oily contact cleaner. Just be careful not to get it under the rubber or it will start sliding. It will stop working after that for a while and you have to play with the wheel for many hours before it starts working again. but man its smooth after that, and precise.
I am definitely getting this bad boy at the end of the year.
It's done really well over the years.
this is so cool decreasing sensitivity when sniping i love it

Thanks for the unboxing! According to Razer you can use alkaline batteries in it no problem.
Excellent unboxing and first look, thanks - New Sub. for sure! p.s. loved the G7 - the most comfortable mouse I have ever used - I have not found a mouse that does not give me cramp ever since - hence now looking at the Ouroboros so your review was a real help! Thanks again!
Nothing beats my cyborg rat 9 wireless, it works extremely well and looks beast imo
I have this mouse, but I prefer the Deathadder 2013. Much more comfortable (I use palm grip, mind you) plus I don't need all those buttons.
for your ring finger, i had the same problem too at first, but make it just a little bit longer so it can rest on the pinky side panel thing ^^
NI-MH batteries have memory effects. DO take note. Try to use the battery to flat before charging it to preserve the life of it
How is the build quality?
Really awsome mouse. very simler features to the Corsair M60. Oh and i want your mouse pad!!
It's actually really worth it. Some people just really prefer over other companies, but one day... you will buy their product...
BTW the thing has some kind of special micro suction rubber on the bottom that if you push it onto a surface itll stick like a magnet. i have it on the side of my desk for days now and it hasnt moved at all. can even support the weight of the mouse
I got a g9x and want to maybe upgrade to this mouse, is it worth it? i love the g9x though...
Watching this on april 24th 2022. Thanks to the youtube
me too haha
So i recommend that one if you use a palm grip like me and like a larger size and weight.
i got it from a friend i traded my abyssus mirror for it and the same day i asked it back cuz the abyssus is better in my oppinion
Jimngu Gk you're better off getting a deathadder chroma
