I REALLY liked the less weighty ragdoll physics in GTA 4. It was so great shooting people up and actually disrupting their ability to shoot and move with bullets. Also, enemy guns used to go off in GTA 4 when they dropped them. I'll never forget shooting a shotgun out of someone's hands in 4, and they fell forward on to it as it hit the ground, only for it to fire buckshot up into their chin which killed them and sent them standing up again a little bit before they collapsed. Also, shooting people on stairs was amazing.
Yeah shooting people in IV felt so good, they way they stagger/go limp/crawl etc and then combine that with a weapon sound mod and it has some of the most entertaining combat in any game period.

My favorite that you left out was that melee combat was by far better in GTA 4. I loved how it would do like RDR--where you beat them up but not kill them, only to have them stagger off by themselves later or be loaded into an EMS. Instead, in GTA5, everybody you hit is just dead and there is no "injured" status. Every EMS never rescues anybody and they just arrive and leave after making their report. With GTA 4, it left you with the illusion that you just messed someone up by they were hauled away and lived.
And also gta 4 combat system actually requires skills and leaves you with the amount of health you have at the end of the fight The only way to gain back health is to eat While gta 5 you regain health over time
@@Zorg_Picklehelm That's been somewhat fixed in GTA V. Replenishing health after injuries (snacks) to accelerate the health regen speed instead of waiting on it to gain on its own... it's slower now.

Being drunk is better in GTA4 as well, as it's just being in ragdoll mode, buy you can still stand up and control where you go, but simply stepping off the curb onto the road and Niko will fall over sometimes. And you will fall down stairs where drunk. GTAV you can still climb ledges and shit like that. Which doesnt make sense.
In my opinion, it was just a tiny bit too much of tipping over in IV. But I agree it’s still better than V, and since it was more of a fun gimmick it’s totally forgivable.
Plus they're actually harder to take down since they actually have armor and it protects them unlike in gta 5. They're also pretty Tactical and sneaky whenever you don't look at them and you're distracted they'll move up on you and if you spot them they back off and fire at you so they can get back into cover
Swat in gta 5 looks very boring like why are they wearing some sort of flak jacket and there is a lack of appearance variants. Also they made a swat truck but swat doesn’t use it in gta 5 breh
The rockets shooting straight forward from the chopper in GTA5 are actually correct, these are based on unguided rocket pods in real that fire straight out of the pod unlike guided missiles that drop and launch.
As much as Roman calling you to go bowling was annoying AF, the _ability_ to go bowling, or to play pool, to go in a burger place, an internet cafe, it all helped to make GTA4 more immersive. I've never felt immersed in GTA5, I've never felt like I was actually in a city.
Bro in GTA V you can do so much. Go to strip clubs, help people around town by catching thieves, Michael and Trevor can go out to bars and get drunk or play Tennis, you can play Tennis with Amanda too, you can even do Yoga, ride a blimp, go to therapy, order a taxi, go to races, etc...
@@0100-r6d i also dont understand why it was possible to go to different gyms in gta san andreas, but in gta 5 franklin wasnt even able to train at muscle beach.
I hear ya! GTA Online is just eye candy. You can tell that those behind the minute details in GTA 5/Online are not the same people who did the minute details in GTA 4. That is why, though graphically inferior, GTA 4 is GTA 5/Online's better!
For the buzzard missile one, gta5 makes more sense, the missiles are in a pod, they can’t drop and activate, they’d lunch straight out, gta4 would make sense if it was a rocket pylon, like the guided rockets from an Apache
Even the Apache shoots them out of a rod-like structure, since dropping them first would go against one of its greatest abilities to shoot low, above the ground while peeking above treelines or hills. Rockets like these usually slide out of a structure, while guided a-a missiles can do the drop as shown in the video, but even these sometimes slide off a pylon, depending on which station they are fired from.
There is another detail in gta 4, Niko can not specify his location if he is far at sea or high in the air, which leads to a special set of dialogues between Niko and the operator when you dial 911
You should also mention the car weights from IV, in V it feels like any vehicle that a pedestrian is driving or is parked automatically has more weight than the car you are in, because pedestrians can easily push you around and out of the way while you hitting them to try to push them will barely do anything, in IV you could push cars around easily, a Dukes can easily push around a Dukes, a Sultan can’t easily push something like a Semi or Fire Truck, and a Semi or Fire Truck can plow through crowds of vehicles, this added on to how fun the driving was in the game. Play IV and notice how your car doesn’t stop almost immediately when pushing through cars unlike V.
If only they brought those realistic features to gta v imagine how much fun that would be or for example more realistic crashes like you could be trapped in the vehicle and npc fire and rescue actually has to get you out of course you could get out yourself but I also like small details were you actually get injured I even liked the fact that in previous games which this is off topic you could eat and gain weight and if you dont monitor you're weight you can't run and run out of breath faster vs if you're skinny you can actually run faster and you have to monitor you're weight another feature I missed is the fog being much denser because in real life you're not going to see through all the way through the fog also it would be cool if the cars have different weights so then each car could be intresting also if you damage the car there should be more details just saying compared to gta IV and gta V I just wish they brought those details from IV to V because that would be interesting gta V feels like a movie, just saying
Almost forgot but years ago when I did play gta 4 I remember there was some kind of cheat system with the phone were you put in random numbers and a vehicle spawns in this was on the playstation 2, but not sure if gta V has that feature but I remember that I used to mess around flying helicopters around liberty city and it was fun but we can compare games all day I still think for it's time gta 4 with its ragdoll and physics was pretty good for it's time still is but obviously games change over time still would love to see every small detail and feature from the old games put in, because to be honest I still think that would be fun especially for roleplaying
It's been so long for me, all I remember is "Niko, let's go bowling," the "boom, headshot" guy, and "wha g'wan Niko?" the cool Jamaican dude with the guns
I didn’t like gta v that much the story, the story of gta v is a darker story and niko grow has we progress in the story, michael a little bit, Franklin and Trevor no so much, in gta v is just heights and missions that don’t add anything to the drama they feel out of place, it was not good in my opinion if any of you like the story good, I happy you enjoy, in another hand I feel the graphic look more cartoonist than gta 4, this just mine opinion don’t take it personal.
Niko, Johnny, and Luis are memorable characters for me forever. They're the first GTA protagonists I ever played as. I'm still sad Trevor killed Johnny in V just because he was upset that Trevor was banging his girlfriend and it just so happened Michael crept his way back into Trevor's life. Really fucking stupid part of the whole story. They should of just had Johnny help Trevor find Michael with Wade. Makes it feel like they retconned the entirety of The Lost and Damned just to make it seem like Johnny was just a thief and a dirty biker the whole time.
@@kirklinguinihoodinithecubo8525 Yeah I agree.. Johnny shouldn't have went out that way. He was such a strong character and that just would never of happened. They made Johnny appear so weak. Bad moment for Rockstar.
I liked that in GTA 4 you could be a cop and do little side missions as a cop. They removed this in GTA 5 and wish they didn't. I wonder if this will be playable as a feature in GTA 6 as there are lots of roleplay style mods and gameplay with this sort of stuff already posted from UA-camrs playing GTA 5
Why GTA 5 Graphics? Every game looks good in it's time.. GTA 4 looks real in its time, it was a Revolutionary game. GTA 5 graphics is so old now.. The game we call Gta 6 must be have Unreal Engine 5 Demo graphics....
I've never played GTA5, but the crash physics of GTA4 are insane. In one instance, I was on a motorcycle at high speed when I crashed into the back of a car. Niko got launched from the bike and flew a good distance until he collided with the side of a bridge underpass. In another, I got into what seemed like a minor head-on collision but the NPC driver of the other car was apparently killed on impact. In both instances, Niko just walked it off. 😂
GTA 4 was a true human experience of a game , but I think back in 2008 we weren’t ready for the wonders of euphoria mechanics, and in gta 5 this mechanism have been tremendously watering down…
1:31 about shooting the helicopter in GTA V makes more sense, being shot straight, because they are rockets and they are in a cocoon, so the rocket is fired straight, and not falling down to be activated later.
not an warhead expert but gtaV makes more sense because the rockets are in pods. GtaIV looks more suitable for planes because planes dont carry rocket pods and it does fire like that..well its payload.
I loved that you could have multiple girlfriends on gta 4. The fact that you could go to the Internet cafe and actually message a girl and they’d email you back in 3 days or so scheduling the date. Each girlfriend had different personalities and liked different things, so it made the characters more original. I’ve only replayed gta 5 twice. I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent playing gta 4 haha
From what I heard, Rockstar said GTA IV was supposed to be more realistic, while GTA V was supposed to be some sort of insane reality full of jokes and chaos, I can't find any hard evidence of it, however.
@@Prince.Shoaib-back2YT GTA V's physics are nowhere near as good as GTA IV's, sure, GTA V is pretty realistic in some situations, but GTA IV ultimately beats it in terms of realism, besides, I don't get why you're so triggered over something like details in games.

Always loved how grenades/explosions dont instakill you in IV depending how far you are from the explosion... in V they either kill you or you survive without any damage .. also rpg rockets were more realistic in IV
Also the fact that Burgershot and CluckingBell simply don’t exist in a way where they actually are available to the player, it would’ve been easy to implement, at least should’ve given us 1 burgershot location and 1 cluckingbell location at least
@@Prince.Shoaib-back2YT What if all restaurants, including fast-food closed down in real life? That would be a shame. There's even a Cluckin' Bell factory is Paleto Bay and Cluckin' Bell trailers are often seen pulled by Packer, Phantom and Hauler semi-trucks .
The helicopter fall part in GTA V is actually more accurate for the wrong reasons Obviously they just did the same thing with the cars, hit too hard - explode, but since a helicopter has highly explosive and flammable fuel, especially a buzzard who also has rockets, then after a crash it can actually get on fire and explode. There's a reason why most pictures of fallen helicopters show a burnt out corpse without the fuel tank
Gives me memories of an actual fun game with fun missions to me as a kid and now all I do it stress about grinding in online what a difference. The Buzzard is firing unguided rockets, not missiles. And the way GTA V does it is exactly correct. You’re thinking of how guided missiles drop off the rail and accelerate. That’s not how folding-fin rockets work.
You can in GTA V too. I think it only happens when you shoot a weapon before you get into the car and the character has its „fight mode“. After you leave the vehicle then the engine will be running, the radio sounding and the lights are on.
@@benhartel9727 That is bugging the code to get that to happen. In GTA 4 you can just do that by pressing triangle. You can also turn the engine off too by holding triangle I believe.
Gta v is using rpg rockets instead of missle rockets. That's just laziness How ever I agree that the rocket pods don't shoot like that but it's a nice detail but it should fly straight, now if it's a missile itself It should fall and accerate
there dumbfire rockets possibly hydras. but you kind of right and game is to they fall a bit like 0.25 secs then the rocket kicks in it depends on the missile pod these dont have 'barrels' for the missiles they drop then fire
@7:30 maybe GTA 5 at 2013, the 911 can access the location (GPS) of the call made by tracing the call, so it wouldn't be necessary for the player to tell the location.
Other things that i miss in GTA V are crouching (which gives you less chances of being shot in the open) and grabbing objects from the street to throw at people. Oh, and a lot of open interiors.
Cool driving physics, awesome ragdoll and somewhat more realistic firefights where you can get cover behind something by go crouching when you can't even crouch in GTA V, and cool characters like Niko.
The only issue I'd say, is the buzzard, those missles are in pods so it's not as realistic in IV since they can't just drop out. Overall though, I'd pick GTA IV over V still, any day of the week
the pod does not have barrel's/ guiding holes like others they drop and and the rocket ignites is it practical no is it realistic yes better than gta 5 in fact
The pods that live-drop missiles will have the bottom end notched out for the missile and the missile barrel rotates. When fired the clamps holding the missile will release and the missile will drop, ignite, lock on. There is also missile pods that just fire straight on right out of the tube. neither are incorrect. The technology is modeled after the time period of development.
You can still crash through the window in gta V it just doesn't happen as often especially if you take your time to start the car as the character will almost always put a seatbelt on, and the red car in GTA V still took body damage it just wasn't as extreme.
5:00 Yeah I remember how nikko would react to the rain and he would even make comments sometimes and it just helped with the realism and Made you feel like you are part of the game because I would genuinely feel like I needed to get out of the rain or I would flinch when falling off of a building like I was actually going to hit the ground myself lol
The Buzzard in GTA 5 is more realistic because when dropped in GTA 4 the missile would simply clip through the main housing / barrel of the rocket pod when they realistically would shoot straight from the barrel.
Honestly I loved pushing npcs off cliffs on gta 4. It's towards the area where you meet Roman at the docks or that junkie Brucie. You just push npcs off the edge of the walkway. Edit: oh and the melee weapons were fun to use. They weren't always 1 shot kills. Shooting npcs or hurting them in anyway just had more detail. Shooting the guns of of cops hands. Lighting anyone on fire. Calling paramedics to help. The game was a free roam blast.
I’d say the rain one is actually a realistic example. Rain is very common on east coast, and many pedestrians carry umbrellas. Rain is rather uncommon in Southern California, even more so nowadays. Also GTA IV takes place in the fall while I believe GTA V is set during the summer.
5:50 the only reason why you’re surviving is because you have godmode on. You die as soon as you touch the ground because you take the same damage as if you were on foot; falling. But still, GTA 4 does it all better. Just thought i’d point out that issue of the vid
4:50 i find this one weird because i remember that teh characters in V do react to teh rain. Shaking their arms and everything like when they get out of the water
One of my favorite things to do in GTA 4 is walking around high traffic areas and just pushing people’s cars. The driver will get out and try to fight you, and you don’t get a wanted level. I’ll have like 8 people chasing me around, abandoning their cars like an angry mob 😭 idk why it’s so entertaining lol. In GTA 5, there isn’t a button for “pushing” things, only punching or kicking. The NPC’s usually get scared and drive away when you punch their car /:
GTA V Car Blast from Falling From A Height Because The Fall Hits direct on engine so the car is explode. But If you get hit From Other Side The Car Won't explode.
Cars don't just explode right away even if the engine is hit (well, if you've experienced or have seen cars exploding from that action, I won't argue on that part). Although, usually, cars just get totalled badly if the engine were to be hit or damaged too much, I mean, a totalled car is still bad and all, but I'm pretty sure those things don't just go kaboom upon engine impact on a foreign force.
@@Meow_Meow_Hurts_Real_Bad Yeah true it's very rare I never seen a car crash and explode irl but my dad had a car that the engine was smoking and actually explode so I think gta 4 is more realistic but the car doesn't explode if your in the car unless you jump out then it explode not sure why

5:12 well no shit its nearly impossible to survive a high speed helicopter crash its almost like g force will kill you as well as a ya know helicopter crashing no shit its going to explode like come on dude try it irl and see what happens I dare you
Because GTA 5 is all about action. Bright colours, lots of explosions, constant gunfights, chases and intense music. GTA 4 is all about dark story. Dark colours, dirty (important for story) houses, realistic painful animations, depressive music. These games aren't worse or better, they are just different
The one of emergency services can be understood as time had advanced by 2013 (Gta5) and they could track your location through your mobile number and no need to mention the location
When u call 911 on a there a an option to press to send them ur location mostly ppl that use it or in a location where they can’t speak loudly but it’s an option.
2:42 this is necessary to ensure that you don't lose time during a race. It's easy for the game to just blow up your car and have you go back to a checkpoint instead of having to flip around and keep driving with a damaged car. While it is annoying in some scenarios it's necessary in some others. No I am not saying GTA 5 is better. GTA 4 is the best by a long shot. But seriously, how annoying is it to flip upside down and not be able to get back on your wheels???
Those "missiles" fired from the helicopter are rockets not missiles. The GTA 5 firing is more accurate. Those rockets are in those drum looking things on the armament wings, the rockets fire straight out of the tube they are in. They don't drop down and then fire, they do go straight forward though not from the nose of the aircraft.
Nice video, more reasons I need to give GTA IV another playthrough. I like that you made it clear you aren't saying IV is _better_ than V, it's just that certain details were sweated in IV and not in V. Good points, and I hope for the next one they take care to sweat the real details again.
2:42 This crash ends up being more realistic in terms of how someone would die after flipping a car going 100 mph. But GTA V wasn't going for that kind of realism anyway so it just comes off looking like a mistake
My favorite one is the driving.
And also gta 4 combat system actually requires skills and leaves you with the amount of health you have at the end of the fight
The only way to gain back health is to eat
While gta 5 you regain health over time
@@Zorg_Picklehelm That's been somewhat fixed in GTA V. Replenishing health after injuries (snacks) to accelerate the health regen speed instead of waiting on it to gain on its own... it's slower now.
@@Zorg_PicklehelmI wouldn't say it requires skill at all. It pretty much the same anyways. Just take cover aim and pop them in the head and go back to cover. Rinse and repeat until everyone is dead. 😊
In GTA V all shoot from sniper gun is fatal, in foot too, its really not realistic😅.
@@fernandomorales4691 GTA V did the shootout mechanics better but I like being able to crouch so I could shoot accurately without leaving cover like in IV
But I agree it’s still better than V, and since it was more of a fun gimmick it’s totally forgivable.
niko gets completely gassed up, gta v characters just get abit buzzed and start talking stupid stuff lol
Driving high in gta 5 is like you took lsd and your steering wheel is broken haha
one time in the ballad of gay tony, i got luis drunk and he died bc he fell down a 2 step staircase lmaooo
The gta 4 swat was much better in my opinion as they had multiple appearances and actually resembled modern swat
Plus they're actually harder to take down since they actually have armor and it protects them unlike in gta 5. They're also pretty Tactical and sneaky whenever you don't look at them and you're distracted they'll move up on you and if you spot them they back off and fire at you so they can get back into cover
@@rogueraccoon1840 you can also sometimes follow them while their doing that without them knowing lmao and get sneak up attack on them

The city is small ASF
Bro in GTA V you can do so much. Go to strip clubs, help people around town by catching thieves, Michael and Trevor can go out to bars and get drunk or play Tennis, you can play Tennis with Amanda too, you can even do Yoga, ride a blimp, go to therapy, order a taxi, go to races, etc...

I hear ya! GTA Online is just eye candy. You can tell that those behind the minute details in GTA 5/Online are not the same people who did the minute details in GTA 4. That is why, though graphically inferior, GTA 4 is GTA 5/Online's better!
@@0100-r6d gta 4 lovers act like gta 5 is an empty souless map, and i don't understand why, its like they didn't even play the game.
4:19 the most realistic part of the entire video
😂💀
Gta 4 has all of those details that are subtle but very interesting when you notice them.
also to mention that when gta 4 cars are slow but feel faster gta 5 cars are fast but feel slow lol

I like the hand to hand combat in GTA 4. Especially if you time the counter right, you could disarm the opponent if he was wielding a knife.
GTA 4 was a true human experience of a game , but I think back in 2008 we weren’t ready for the wonders of euphoria mechanics, and in gta 5 this mechanism have been tremendously watering down…
Because people didn’t like how crazy they were believe it or not.

Something to add this 5:40 if the blades breakes and the fall is very high… the helicopter can explode… tested by me when I was a kid.
I’d say the rain one is actually a realistic example. Rain is very common on east coast, and many pedestrians carry umbrellas. Rain is rather uncommon in Southern California, even more so nowadays. Also GTA IV takes place in the fall while I believe GTA V is set during the summer.
yeah. there's no way anybody in California would even own an umbrella, let alone take it with them

As always Blackbot returned with a 'good video' and a 'good game'
:D

The helicopter crash one is a disadvantage of gta 4
2:42 This crash ends up being more realistic in terms of how someone would die after flipping a car going 100 mph. But GTA V wasn't going for that kind of realism anyway so it just comes off looking like a mistake
My favorite one is the driving. Yes the driving is too easy and in gta 4 feels like a actual car, and you can spin out of control just like irl if you go to fast and turn or when the call flips/ barrel roll when you sharp turn on high speed I think the physics are a lot better in Gta 4. Gtav however is a joke and a downgrade to me
People who complained about driving probably got bored of the game and gave up. Probably the best GTA imo.
@@Hello-et5mg fr the interior and environmental destruction are insane
@@Prince.Shoaib-back2YT I think GTA 4 is more satisfying, idk y but the car suspensions and the main body swaying when turning feels so nice even if it's so extreme
I used to criticize the driving of GTA IV, until one day I decided to pass the story and with practice I got used to driving in Liberty City. He even drove at high speeds and knew when to slow down or brake. But then I went back to GTA V and what do you think? I crashed several times because when I turned the steering wheel the car veered violently fast. I had gotten used to the stiff but realistic handling of GTA IV.
@@Prince.Shoaib-back2YT have you even played GTA IV?
GTA IV Swat: Has More Cosmetics, Better weaponry, and more aggressive
GTA V Cops: Balaclava and Vest for all officers and are more tactical
Both: Crouch while shooting
2:24 notice how the rockets in gta v are rpg rockects in gta iv its the same rocket from the helicopter
0:24 I think I laughed for 2 mins straight
