I’m not sure if anyone knows but they said to use condensed milk but they actually poured in evaporated milk. I’d love to try making this for my sister when I visit but not sure which ingredient to use.

Jazaq-alajú kairan for you and your beloved mother for not only sharing this but also doing so in an accessible manner. As Ramadan 2024 approaches inshaAllah i will try my hand at it a few times beforehand to get it right. *I am thinking about using cassava flour as the thickening agent instead of wheat flour since i just harvested this Caribbean staple (cassava 🇯🇲, manioc 🇭🇹, and yuca in my 🇨🇺) in my yard - and cassava flour is much healthier. 😊 Saludos y salaams para tu familia 🤲🏿
My mom always used butter in her bean pie recipes but that was decades before doctors started recommending margarine was better and helps lower cholesterol for heart health.

She stated condense milk …. I do believe she actually used evaporated milk …. I also added vanilla extra. Otherwise the pie was delicious 😊

Lemon extract, not vanilla extract ?
If you usually put vanilla extract in your bean pie recipe then by all means use vanilla.
