Corie, I also LOVED The Night the lights went out! I can’t wait to try your other recommendations! Among all your other projects, have you ever thought about adding an online book club to your channel? I am still hoping to learn to crochet and knit. The blanket pattern is beautiful!!! I know you like to cook, do you have a favorite recipe? Katie, it was so interesting watching you work with the stones and making jewelry! The creek is so beautiful! The little river stones are so precious! I like the really basic necklaces made from a plain stone and a strap of leather or braided twine too! You girls are so talented! I am in awe of all the things you do! Keep exploring your talents. You have both been blessed!!!
Thank you so much! If you loved that book, you would probably like the author Ruth Ware! I love to cook chicken, I like it almost any way. A book club would be cool and I am sure you could learn crochet or knitting pretty quickly! Thank you and God bless!
I love to read...biographies, true crime, and fiction. Some of my fav books are the Anne of Green Gables books by Lucy Maud Montgomery, the Harry Potter books (rich vocabulary), and Bill O'Reilly's "Killing" books. I have only two signed books: one about her pet raccoon by my second grade teacher (I am 60 years old), and Ricky Scaggs autobiography which I purchased and he signed after a concert at the college in my town.
Corie, I love to read, too. I have way too many books and it's time to thin them and donate some to the library. I recently read a series by Alex Bledsoe called the Tufa Tales. They are fiction, set in Appalachia. He wrote several books in the series and I gobbled them all up. I'm trying to get back into crocheting, making hats and scarves for my family and friends. My grandmother taught me when I was a tiny child. She used to make lace crocheting what I'd call thread nowdays. Katie, that creek is magic. I watched your video about it the other day, and I was nodding my head with you the whole time. It's hypnotic, and a great place to clear a mind and meditate. I believe we are bound to observe and enjoy the beauty of the land for it's own sake, and from that we gain peace. I'm really enjoying your channel, ladies!
Just the sound of that creek flowing down the rocks, I could probably take the best nap of my life. Of course knowing my luck I'd just get eaten alive by mosquitoes though
Cory and Katie , thanks so much. Very interesting and inspiring. Katie, I just made my first purchase from your Etsy store. I purchased the “ Labradorite Cabochon, Labradorite Stone, Feldspar Cab, Feldspar Stone, Labradorite Crystal”. I will leave a good review in your store. I like lapidary arts as well, but enjoy watchmaking more. Again thanks for the inspiration
Very nice video, ladies! Though your viewers may have come to your channel for the music, I'm learning that you both are multi-dimensional and very talented and skilled in other crafts. Corie, it's interesting you became an avid reader once reading was no longer mandated by your teachers. (There's probably a lesson here for young parents.) I'm not surprised to hear you have made fitness a priority in your life. It shows. Movement and daily exercise are so important for physical, mental, and emotional health. Good for you for figuring this out at such a young age. Those habits will set you up for success! Katie, I am blown away by your knowledge and skill as a silversmith. I was aware of your creativity as a songwriter and musician, but I had no idea of your talent designing and making jewelry. I've never seen a diamond wet-sander-grinder like you have. Sophisticated tools. Where did you learn this craft? The Pressley family is certainly talented!
@@thepressleygirls Thanks for your reply. I just browsed the school's website. This looks like a really fun place to learn a new skill. I'm pleasantly surprised at the wide variety of classes they offer. I'm guessing it would be popular with retired folks like me, wanting to learn a new hobby. Sadly, it doesn't appear they'll be offering any face-to-face classes this year. Best to both of you!
I would love to learn more about crocheting. I learned a little from my aunt when I was young, but forgot it all🙄. I do love to read in my spare time “which is not much around here”😁. I can’t say much for the exercising though 🤣. Katie you sure have a talent for jewelry making! Both you girls have great talent and I’m sure you are a blessing to your mom🥰
I found some crochet UA-camrs. I had forgotten how to crochet and they taught me all over. And, you can stop and start the videos to see how it's done. You young ladies are so inspiring and talented, Corey and Katie. I've enjoyed your videos today, I just found you. Love the music.

Truly love these videos of two amazing, beautiful, and talented young women sharing life. It is so nice to know there are genuine and honest people in the world.
Really enjoyed this video. Getting to know you both is just as nice as listening to you play and sing. I’m so happy we have several of the stones from the creek.
Thanks, Corie and Katie, for the insight into what the Pressley Girls do when they're not making music. Having been an avid reader since childhood, I'm always on the lookout for new-to-me authors, so Corie's recommendations are appreciated. In return I'll recommend Australian author Jane Harper. To date she has written four novels; in order of publication they are: The Dry, Force of Nature, The Lost Man (my favorite), and The Survivors. Australia is as vastly different from your surroundings in NC as it is from mine in Wyoming, and it gives Jane's stories an almost otherworldly feel.
Thoroughly enjoyed hearing about your hobbies, and what very constructive ones they are. My wife has a similar stash of wool and cottons for crochet and knitting but not that extensive ! We both enjoy lapidary and my wife gives me her best creations to make up for her as for many years I was a jeweller. I loved watching you making the setting...you do it very well . Once again thank you both and keep enjoying your crafts.

I love learning crafts, hearing about hobbies and how to get started, what you'll need. Love watching relaxing singing n playing. Teaching us a little about singing, harmonizing, how to get started playing an instrument... I've always wanted to learn how to play the guitar and sew. Love cooking, old folklore, hearing stories.
It's refreshing to see women who have cool hobbies like reading and rockhounding. Women where I live just want to drive around on noisy ATVs and then hit the bars.

I like the creek too Katie! I could hang out there all day with a thermos of coffee and my cob! You girls know you could use the creek for tranquility video's, there are thousand's of them here on UA-cam, that people watch for sleep, study, meditation, relaxation, even background noise!
Loved this video girls ! I got the Craven Manor book on Amazon. I love books too 😍 I purchased a ring months ago, found the portion of how you make jewelry very informative. Thanks for the background ditty of what you both like to do. I enjoyed it very much. Take care 🙂
I'd love to get yous to play your music in Ireland, there's so many similarities with music & dancing & language with Irish music, girls keep up the great work 🇮🇪 🏴 ☘
I have enjoyed reading for as long as I can remember. I used to buy paperback books by the box load. And about wore out the path to the public library. Unfortunately I got into a disagreement with them and my account was canceled. So I bought an IPad and a subscription to Amazon kindle unlimited and although I still like the physical feel of books the electronic version is just fine.
Katie, do you ever go to the creeks and look for fossilized rocks? Then you bust them open to see the crystals on the inside? If so. Ever made jewelery out of them?
I'm gonna make a couple of book suggestions to, well anyone here that is interested lol. All Over but the Shouting by Rick Bragg. It's a nonfiction that follows the life of his mother and grandparents in Aniston Alabama. Plenty of humor and tough times, but I think it's a book that just about everyone can enjoy, even though it might hit a little more for those of us that live in the south. The second is A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. It's another nonfiction about the authors experiences while walking the Appalachian Trail. Again full of humor and it's just a good read.
I loved A Walk in the Woods, I actually had to read it one time in college. I’m familiar with Rick Bragg, but haven’t read any of his books yet. Thanks for the suggestions! 🤠
@@thepressleygirls Nice! Bryson did another called A Short History of Nearly Everything that was good too. You may have read that one also but it's in the same humorous style that is so easy to read
have you read or listened to the recorded book by Tom Hanks on Audible by Ann Patchett called The Dutch House? Mr Hanks does an amazing job of narrating !
I am new to your channel. Enjoying it very much.....the music, new house, all the things. And all about the differences between you both. I crochet and think the diamond blanket is going to be so pretty. You are doing a great job. Would you mind telling me the brand and weight, etc of the yarn? And how much it will take. Thank you so much. Your grandmother has taught you well. 🙂🙂
Welcome to the channel! I’ve been using worsted weight yarn (medium/size 4) and to be honest I’m not sure about how much it takes because I’ve just been using scrap yarn. It depends on the size of blanket you want to make. You can actually use any size yarn you want, just look on the label and use the hook size it suggests. Let me know if you have anymore questions 🤠
Add Southern writer Sean Dietrich, aka. Sean of the South, to your reading list.😉 “The Incredible Winston Browne” for a start. You find out on the very first page that Winston Browne is dying.
Allow me a suggestion- maybe you ladies might consider teaching us a few classic porch songs? I'm sure that there are quite a few of us interested in learning another music style- especially one so rooted in your wonderful and unique culture :)
Ok,,,,new subby here............I really dig that accent...........A girl recently said that about my stuff and I was like 'um eh? ARU? hahah, she called my accent 'sexy'.............why am I even mentioning this? hehe!
The NC girlfriend I had years ago in England used to cook up a sort of mince meat meal, with all sorts of stuff in it, they called it 'Buffalo Brains'...?? I loved the stuff, but I have never found out the recipe for making it.....!!!!
If dreams came true....one of mine would be that young girls would know to look up to the Pressley Girls instead of the what is in the entertainment field. Both off the color music and likewise movies. God bless you both greatly.
Just found your channel have been a fan of your Mom’s. A really good book i would suggest is When Crickets Cry By Charles Martin he lives in Jacksonville Fl give it a try

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA how many dreaded hours weed-eating. I only ever got to use the electric ones though, never had enough land to warrant the gas ones.
That is one HUGE jar of minced garlic! 😂 Didn't know they sold it like that.
Man that little crick reminds me of many places in East Tennessee. Aint nothing prettier than the South.
Amazing gifts you both have.thank you for sharing.BE BLESSED
Thank you 💕🙏
My goodness I want to get in that creek so bad, looks like a treasure trove of beautiful rocks! Great content yall, thanks for sharing! 💯❤️
Love you both! Keep sharing your GRACE!
Thank you!
Great video. Cool to see you varied interests. I have an 11 year old daughter and hope she grows up to have as many different interests and hobbies as you all....she already loves to cook with me! Keep it up!
Thank you! 💕🙏

Knew I couldn't be the only one around here who has discovered Kerrygold... Else Ingles sure wouldn't carry it! Lol
Kerrygold is my favorite from the store! 🤠
I just became a fan of your moms youtube channel when I came across one of her videos of you playing music! I was thinking WOW! I'd like to hear more of this when I found where she had put this link to your own channel! I'm blown away! You have a new subscriber, keep up the good work but most of all have fun doing it!
I like the creek too Katie! I could hang out there all day with a thermos of coffee and my cob! You girls know you could use the creek for tranquility video's, there are thousand's of them here on UA-cam, that people watch for sleep, study, meditation, relaxation, even background noise!
That’s a good idea!
Love the DIY videos!
love watching you work with the gemstones and making jewelry! I wanna learn how to do that!
Thank you!
Catching up on older videos ❤❤❤
I like creepy scary ghost books too! Lol
Katie, do you ever go to the creeks and look for fossilized rocks? Then you bust them open to see the crystals on the inside? If so. Ever made jewelery out of them?
Just stumbled on your videos. Cool content. Great talent. Lot of catching up to do. Keep up the good work. Went ahead and subscribed.
Thank you so much! 🙏
Good luck to you both! 👍
Thank you! 🙏
Corie gettin’ swole. 💪
🏋️♀️😂
Great video! I always love Katie talking about rocks and Corie cooking.
How did that spoon go from dirty to clean in 2 seconds? (lol)
I was wondering if someone would notice that! I love Garlic, even raw 😂😂
I love that good ole' stove top coffee pot .
They make the best coffee !
They sure do!
@@thepressleygirls You ladies are early to rise and shine this morning !
I wish you all a good day !
@@thepressleygirls gotta' get that tap water good and cold is what I have found to be true ?
Oooh is that a Mucha print on your bedroom wall? Love the art of Mucha :)
have you read or listened to the recorded book by Tom Hanks on Audible by Ann Patchett called The Dutch House? Mr Hanks does an amazing job of narrating !
I enjoyed the vedio! Loved the country talk ❤️❤️👌❤️
Sean of the South, to your reading list.😉
“The Incredible Winston Browne” for a start. You find out on the very first page that Winston Browne is dying.
Very good video and super interesting
Thanks for watching!
Love your videos. Thank you. Glad l found you all. God Bless you all. Have a blessed Christmas 🎄
Thank you, Merry Christmas! 🎄
Allow me a suggestion- maybe you ladies might consider teaching us a few classic porch songs? I'm sure that there are quite a few of us interested in learning another music style- especially one so rooted in your wonderful and unique culture :)
That’s a great idea!
@@thepressleygirls thank you both:) I'll be first in line to sit on the stoop!
hello new friend, thank you for share great video, 👍 have a great day
Ok,,,,new subby here............I really dig that accent...........A girl recently said that about my stuff and I was like 'um eh? ARU? hahah, she called my accent 'sexy'.............why am I even mentioning this? hehe!
The NC girlfriend I had years ago in England used to cook up a sort of mince meat meal, with all sorts of stuff in it, they called it 'Buffalo Brains'...?? I loved the stuff, but I have never found out the recipe for making it.....!!!!
How interesting! Never heard of it!
If dreams came true....one of mine would be that young girls would know to look up to the Pressley Girls instead of the what is in the entertainment field. Both off the color music and likewise movies. God bless you both greatly.
Thank you! 🙏💕
Just found your channel have been a fan of your Mom’s. A really good book i would suggest is When Crickets Cry By Charles Martin he lives in Jacksonville Fl give it a try
I think I used to have that book but can’t remember if I ever read it or not. I’ll have to look it back up! Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel! 🙏🤠
You alls have a cool river.
Love the lapidary work! I do some of the same, let me know if you'd like to play with some pretty oregon material!
Interesting! Those outdoor scenes definitely add another dimension to an already outstanding video!
Thank you! 🙏
Thanks enjoyed God bless
Hi from the Fraser Valley in BC Canada... Wonder if you talented ladies take requests. Would love to hear you cover some Judds' music. Grandpa or Rockin with the Rhythm of the Rain. Really enjoying your channel.
Hello Canada! We love the Judds! 🤠
@@thepressleygirls Me too! ❤😃
If you enjoy mildly spooky books, may I recommend “Strangely Enough!” by C. B. Colby. I have recommended this book to many people and have bought several copies to give out. Easy to find on amazon, eBay, etc. :)
Do you ever find any arrowheads in the creek
You both are very talented. Do you work outside the home?
Thank you! We sure do, Momma and Daddy put us to work 😂
Also, Katie works for herself making Jewelry and cutting rocks and I work part time as an office assistant and teach guitar lessons 🤠
@@thepressleygirls You both stay very busy! Enjoy seeing you on your mom's channel too.
Its amazing the amount of stone those wheels remove, I fear a new hobby is on the way. Really youre not fault Ive thoughts about this for years. Do you have a horizontal wheel. I'd love to make my own agate stripper guides for the bamboo fly rod making.
I just have the wheels you see in the video, but yes it’s a wonderful hobby and great fun, you should get one! 🤠
Corie and Katie I like to take my 700 sportsman ATV up into woods and we got over 200 miles trials here in northern Wisconsin and I made lunch out on the trail or by a small lake that is what I like
That sounds awesome!! 🤠
Awesome , I love getting to know y'all . :-)
