To your point about the axel as a marker, it's a good idea to check deeds before doing any work around the land. I have had deeds that show borders and corners as "Pipe Set", "Boulder", "Rock", and even "Stone Pile" or "Hedge Row". People used to be much more informal about land transactions, and neighbors would gather to agree on markers because a survey was too expensive. Also, be careful about family lore, and heed any stories of GreatGreatGreatGrandparents buried yonder. A plain metal hinge may be from a simple pine coffin that has rotted away, as many early settlers wanted to stay with their land, and even "Ole Yeller" was sometimes so adored that coffins would be made for pets (our Pet Cemetery is defined by pine tree corners). Thanks for a great video!

What an interesting video! Love the old perfume bottle. Years ago a drive-in movie theater in my hometown closed permanently, and was later replaced by a restaurant and parking lot. One Saturday afternoon my daddy took us three kids to the abandoned theater area to try out his metal detector 'toy', a gift from a relative. Within a few minutes we had found over seven dollars in loose coins near where the theater's outdoor concession stand had once been. No doubt people buying snacks before the movie accidentally dropped dimes, quarters etc. in the grass in the semi-darkness and didn't realize it. Our excitement level was so high when we counted the coins, you would've thought we won the lottery!
Hello, your bottle is a Prince Matchabelli perfume bottle. Likely held Wind Song perfume. That was my Aunt Maye's favorite fragrance. She passed away a few years ago at 101 years old. So fun that you found it! Be safe.

The oval chrome piece is a taillight holder off an old car ( The RT probably means it was from the right side) . The other thing is a wheel castor off an old piece of furniture it would have had a wooden wheel on that pin through the top. What a fun video! You girls have beautiful land to hunt on for treasures. I just moved to a new old home in November, and I can't wait until spring when I can go explore the woods behind my house. The place was built in 1927, and the ground slopes down into a small wooded area where people have discarded and dumped bottles and junk. One piece of metal looked like the bottom part of a stirrup from a riding saddle, it was the piece that tapered to smaller ends on each side. The ends would have pointed up and connected to leather strapping. It looked very old and hand forged by a black smith. Better keep that one. Hope this helped.
Eddie's onto something but it's more likely the chrome base that a glass or plastic reflector was attached to instead of a light.. The reflector probably had a protrusion that snapped thru the square hole and the threaded part went into the car or truck. From the shape of it, I'd guess it's pretty old . . . before WWII. The "T" and 4 letters under it might allow you to identify what it was better and maybe even tell you what kind of car. As for the axle being a boundary marker, deeds - if they were recorded at the court house - could tell you. I think it's just part of the same car that was abandoned there that the chromed strip and reflector plate came from. The RH definitely stands for Right Hand (not my initials :)) which means it would have gone on the passenger side.
When I was the pastor of an old city church, we owned a 100 year old house that we were tearing down. One day some men were walking on the property sinking long metal rods into the ground. Turns out they were looking for where the old outhouses were located. In the old days, everyone used the outhouse to dump their garbage. When they found the sights they dug them up and pulled out all manner of treasure. Mostly old bottles and dishes but also some old tools, pots and pans. It was true history right under our feet and we didn't even know it.
You girls are so blessed! You live in a wonderful place, have so many opportunities and various adventures. You have a great family all of whom are very TALENTED. I love watching your mamma's videos giving so much history and family traditions. They all bring back so many wonderful memories ❤. Jeri Whittaker
At 8:33 the object looks like a draw knife for making bowls! It has two handles and a curved blade; ( also used to cut and hollow logs for troughs used for shinning.)
Hunting for arrowheads is just as exciting as metal detecting around these parts! When I find one, I think about the person who actually made that by hand and used it to kill game and feed their family. (Or they missed their shot, lost it and had to make another one😂)
I know that perfume‼️. It’s Prince Matchabelli ‼️. Yes, it’s a crown shaped bottle. Google & see some vintage bottles like yours. That was my favorite in high school (later years 1960-1962). It smelled really nice......nice find!
RH for stands for right hand . I think you were correct in the fact it was a automobile mirror. Good job detective !!Oh yeah i had 4 sisters growing up in the 1970's and as a kid i remember her perfume bottle shaped like that .....the name of it was wind song!!!
I love metal detecting! We have a small handheld pinpointer to narrow in on the item, great for coins and small items, once the metal detector picks up the spot where it is. We will dig up a shovelful and poke it around with the pinpointer to see if it’s there or need to dig further. I love finding glass bottles, but unfortunately there’s no glass detectors! That crown bottle is an awesome find!
Looks like a fun and very interesting hobby! Especially on your family mountain. And with your twin! Wonder if the shiny oval thing was like a side view mirror of a car or something. Have a great day!🌻
Still got my "Dolly Pot" for crushing quartz and gold pan. The sheep property my Dad worked on, was well known for its gold, especially around tree roots in water and along the creek banks. For the perfume bottle, it looks an Avon type I saw, years back.
The piece with the pin is a bed,or dresser roller. The Nickel place,is a base for a marker light, like a large trailer.Good job Katie,I like greaser hunting.
The square hole is that shape because on both ends they install what is called a stove bolt, and if you look up a picture of a stove bolt you will see the reason the hole is square and not round. On the bolt is what is called a square shoulder which prevents the bolt from turning, while you tighten a nut on the other end of the bolt which also allows for a beveled head on the outside where you see it after installed.
Thanks for posting a fun video. Let's see, you have the nail, the horseshoe...all you need is a horse! I wonder how they decided whose car to wreck when they needed land markers? I have found some silver coins in my yard (house built in the 1940's), along with lots of roofing nails, pull tabs, and other trash. The loudest "good metal" signal I ever got was from a brass lipstick tube, with lipstick still in it. When I'm in your neck of the woods, though, what I need is a poison ivy detector! Wish I could be in Blairsville tonight; hope you have a great time!

Love yellow videos. When I was growing we did a lot of stuff outside. I miss those days. Where we lived bikes was useless due to as there was so sandy so we rode horses evey where. I was raised in southeast Texas. Now days so much has changed in this part of the country I just about to hated here. But my family is still here and I hate to leave. Anyways I so enjoy yells videos.
Corie, Your perfume bottle is an old Prince Machiavelli bottle. Look up on eBay. I found it there. Yours is older because of the cap being black and different but I'm about sure that you have a bottle from the 1930s forward. Take a look.
I saw this after I commented but you are probably right. After seeing it again at the end the shape isn't quite right for my first thought (part of a Ford emblem) but a tail light makes perfect sense

Buried treasure for the Pressley Girls to find and dig up! The end of that old half-axle you found was resting in and being protected by something like a differential case or gear case, or it would not have been grease-coated and rust free. There's something more buried down there. The long strip of chrome, slightly bent in the middle, looks like it might have been part of an automobile or tractor radiator grille.
I've always thought that would be fun. Thanks for taking us along on the adventure. Around my area you have to be careful to not disturb pipes and buried lines, but I'm guessing that's less of an issue on family land.
4:40 is a vehicle axle 14:25 appears to me as a wheel axle assembly for something like a rolling office chair or bed. Wheel has rotted from the 'pin' axel and long pointy part went into the chair or bed frame. BTW: The half horseshoe. We find a few out here at old mine sites, but mostly mule shoes. They used mules to haul ore from the mines and were always pulling and on their toes wearing out the front of the shoe and finally breaking, and throwing the shoe.
I live in north western North Carolina in the mountains and have been finding some really neat stuff. I'm glad I'm not the only one finding old car axles lol. The thing you found you said looks like a buckle with a pin in it is actually an old furniture caster, would have had a wooden wheel on it.
I do believe the shiny silver plate is the trim from either a tail light or turn signal and the plastic dome would mount to it. The RH stands for RIGHT HAND ? Just a guess but that's what it looks like
Wow! I actually recognize something. The Peg with the square box with the pin going through it is an old roller wheel that went on the corners of old wardrobes and furniture pieces. A wooden wheel was on the pin and the peg stuck up into the bottom of the piece of furniture on the corners. the wooden wheels would often break off. I hope this helps.

That’s so cool! I want to find and old outhouse! 🤠😂🙏💕
At 8:14 you found a furniture swivel/castor wheel hardware from an old early 1900's style ; )
You girls are so blessed! You live in a wonderful place, have so many opportunities and various adventures. You have a great family all of whom are very TALENTED. I love watching your mamma's videos giving so much history and family traditions. They all bring back so many wonderful memories ❤.
Jeri Whittaker
Jeri thank you so much! We are truly blessed.
We have a dumping ditch on our property! The property has been in our family for 3 generations ❤️
At 8:33 the object looks like a draw knife for making bowls! It has two handles and a curved blade; ( also used to cut and hollow logs for troughs used for shinning.)
The one piece is a stud that held a roller for a table leg. The shaft went up into the leg and had a roller to swivel around when the table was moved
Thanks for sharing! 🥰
Collect the pretty glass pieces and put them in your rock tumbler to shape and polish.
She actually has before and they turn out so cool!
I live in N Va. There were a lot of Civil War encampments around the town of Winchester, VA.......a lot of things to find.
great video! felt like we were going on a treasure hunt!
We had so much fun!
@@thepressleygirls it was super fun to watch. I like watching you both outdoors exploring.
Hunting for arrowheads is just as exciting as metal detecting around these parts! When I find one, I think about the person who actually made that by hand and used it to kill game and feed their family. (Or they missed their shot, lost it and had to make another one😂)
The perfume bottle is from a company called prince machabelli.
I know that perfume‼️. It’s Prince Matchabelli ‼️. Yes, it’s a crown shaped bottle. Google & see some vintage bottles like yours. That was my favorite in high school (later years 1960-1962). It smelled really nice......nice find!
Cool!
RH for stands for right hand . I think you were correct in the fact it was a automobile mirror. Good job detective !!Oh yeah i had 4 sisters growing up in the 1970's and as a kid i remember her perfume bottle shaped like that .....the name of it was wind song!!!
That’s so cool!
I would love that! Be fun to find some old coins along with the other cool stuff.
Oh yeah! We love and miss you! 💕❤️🤠😘
The perfume bottle is an old windsong bottle!! I sent a link of the picture of one!! Looks like so much fun!! Enjoy your videos!!
So cool, thank you!
My guess on the car axel was a survey marker, I had 2 of them on my property in N C in the Ranger community
I love watching you two having a good time. I'd so love to do some medal detecting with you two.
It sure is a blast!
The lovely crown bottle was purfume by principles matchebellie . .windsong....I had some as a teenager in the 1970's
Hay spell check changed the word and I didn't catch it till I got your notification ..the word is suppose to be prince not principles. Sorry
I do metal detecting and I enjoy watching you two girls metal detecting. You two do a great job and I enjoyed your video so much.God bless you two.
I wish I could send you the screenshot i have of the bottle of Prince Matchabelli. It was patented in 1931. You have a bit of an antique there.
Fascinating.🙂
Looks like a fun and very interesting hobby! Especially on your family mountain. And with your twin! Wonder if the shiny oval thing was like a side view mirror of a car or something. Have a great day!🌻
We are lucky to dig on family land. Thanks for coming along!
Hey thank you! Awesome!
Great video!😊🇨🇦
Wow I didn’t know they made lip stick in metal containers! Thanks for sharing! 🙏💕
Windsong perfume bottle. My mama use to wear it all the time.
That’s so cool!
Think about/research an Equinox 600 or 800 and a Garrett pin-pointer. Will change your entire experience. Loved the video.
Yes, we need a better one! 🤠
I enjoyed watching y'all hunting treasures. I did the same as a kid in S. Carolina but we used 2 coat hangers for a locator. Great memories. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Nice video. I hunt from time to time.
🤠🤠
So fun!
The horse shoe you found was more than likey an Oxen shoe , they looked like a horse shoe but only a half of one , since the oxen had two toes , just sayn' love youalls' channel , love the music , and my style , i'm from south west ,Mo. Aurora .mo
That’s cool, I didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing!
This was fun! I was excited to see what you would find. You girls have so many talents and interests! Tfs ❤
Thank you!
Love yellow videos. When I was growing we did a lot of stuff outside. I miss those days. Where we lived bikes was useless due to as there was so sandy so we rode horses evey where. I have been riding horses since I was bid enough to sit on one. It seems likeI we were raised like yell have been. I thought the good Ole days were gone but maybe not. I was raised in southeast Texas. Now days so much has changed in this part of the country I just about to hated here. But my family is still here and I hate to leave.
Anyways I so enjoy yells videos.
I wish I had a horse lol. Thank you for watching and God bless!
Great walk in the woods fantastic finds
Corie, Your perfume bottle is an old Prince Machiavelli bottle. Look up on eBay. I found it there. Yours is older because of the cap being black and different but I'm about sure that you have a bottle from the 1930s forward. Take a look.
Thank you, I will look it up!
Your mystery object appears to be a backing plate for a tail light.
I agree, and the RH is right hand I would think.
I saw this after I commented but you are probably right. After seeing it again at the end the shape isn't quite right for my first thought (part of a Ford emblem) but a tail light makes perfect sense
Oh how neat! Thanks for sharing!
@@WalkenDead At first glance I also thought it was the remains of a Ford badge, but the second glance convinced me otherwise.
@@stephansmithakatroutscout1391 I should probably watch videos all the way thru before I make my comments, but I always fail at that lol. I am good at admitting when I'm wrong though so I've got that going for me
Yall are wonderful⚘it truly is about the little things in life ❤
I love how it's not cluttered w trash or junk its clean
Buried treasure for the Pressley Girls to find and dig up! The end of that old half-axle you found was resting in and being protected by something like a differential case or gear case, or it would not have been grease-coated and rust free. There's something more buried down there. The long strip of chrome, slightly bent in the middle, looks like it might have been part of an automobile or tractor radiator grille.
Oh lord now I want to go back dig up the other part! 😂
That was an axel shaft most likely from a ford car or truck, because of the flange with 4 holes. ❤
I believe that's a prince matchabelli bottle (I'm old I know these things)
Awesome video!!
I've always thought that would be fun. Thanks for taking us along on the adventure. Around my area you have to be careful to not disturb pipes and buried lines, but I'm guessing that's less of an issue on family land.
Luckily where we are at, there were no pipes or anything at that time or even now lol, thanks for watching! 🙏
4:40 is a vehicle axle
14:25 appears to me as a wheel axle assembly for something like a rolling office chair or bed.
That’s so cool! Thanks for sharing! 🤠🙏
I live in north western North Carolina in the mountains and have been finding some really neat stuff. I'm glad I'm not the only one finding old car axles lol. The thing you found you said looks like a buckle with a pin in it is actually an old furniture caster, would have had a wooden wheel on it.
Cool!
oh this could be an amazing series
I used to love to look for old bottles and found quite a few in my younger days. I love watching you girls explore! Thank you!
I do believe the shiny silver plate is the trim from either a tail light or turn signal and the plastic dome would mount to it. The RH stands for RIGHT HAND ? Just a guess but that's what it looks like
