Been looking at electric waffle makers and just didn't like all the negative reviews. Thought about the cast iron one, found your video, gonna get one....nothing like good cast iron
www.amazon.com/Rome-Industries-1100-Fashioned-Waffle/dp/B000BWCTL0?th=1 I've had mine a good while now, maybe 10 yrs or so. Enjoy them quite a bit. They work pretty good once you get a good seasoning layer on them. Good luck with yours once you get it.
I have an almost identical skillet. Only difference is mine also has "Made in USA" on the bottom. Other than that, identical. Probably made by a small local foundry. Generic master mold so you do not know where it came from. It cost money to have your foundry name put in the master, so you ended up with generic pans. Or you will even see reworked masters with a ghost image of the original factory visible. Mine works fine and so does yours. Now you have me looking for waffle irons. For some reason my wife is dead set against waffles. No idea why. I do have a yardsale electric machine that i have yet to try. I guess i will surprise her some day. Thank you for the terrific CIW Breakfast Challenge recipe, Karl. And I am looking forward to tomorrows video as well. If it involves cast iron make sure you tag it so we can find it. Stay safe.

I've had the a few years now, and don't remember the price we paid for them. They've been pretty good to us. My wife isn't a big waffle fan either, unless we are travelling. then is seems like that's what she always gets. Thanks for your wonderful comment Sean, I appreciate them, and the tips on the mystery iron. The other video, is going to be postponed.... I had some corrupt vid footage and am going to have to re-do it, which lucky for me means I get to make more waffles! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my CIW. I appreciate it!
@@karlo8093 i checked them out on Amazon up here. Not cheap but not offshore either. Thak you for the reply, Karl. i will be watching for more videos.. Stay safe
Rome pie irons is a Wisconsin based company! I have 2 of the long handled Waffle irons. A regular and a Belgium style. Have not put them to use yet. I had planned on this week, but winter showed back up for the last few days. Your waffles turned out great. I'm a big fan of Kent Rollins also. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's breakfast.
Sadly the extra vid from the waffle cook is gonna be a bit delayed. I had some camera hiccups when filming, and it didn't come out. But hey, I get to make waffles again. Soon too I hope. I didn't realize Rome was WI based. That's cool! I would like to try their pie irons. I have some generic aluminum ones and don't like them to much. I like the waffle irons pretty well. Have had them a few years now. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my vid, and for the comments Chris. Much appreciated!
I’m happy to see you using the Rome waffle irons..... I checked those out at a local store. Looked like they needed a lot of “pre-work” before use though. Yours look really good... I might have to get one!
Chris, no more prework than a regular castiron pan. I have a couple of the long handled waffle irons. Ya just rub some crisco over them and season them over a fire or bbq. Just need to do it a few times.
Thanks Chris. I've had mine a few years now. I seasoned them a time or two after I first got them, my first run through stuck a little, but not bad. Kinda like the corn muffin pans, after you get a couple in they do pretty well. I like my waffle irons, but don't get to make waffles to often. I don't think my wife is crazy about them. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my vid!
Good chilly morning!! What a nice setup! It can be almost impossible to try to figure out brand of old cast iron, and those passed down, will last decades and generations if cared for nicely! Nice waffle setup! Breakfast was superb! Thank you so much for sharing a tasty breakfast and joining the celebration of 2yrs if CastIronWednesday Have a great weekend... Stay safe....and stay awesome!!
Thanks Dee! It was a chilly morning for sure. That skillet does cook well, whomever made it. and it's much lighter than the rest of my iron. I really like it. The waffles did come out pretty good. Thanks for watching, and for the comments, and for CIW!
Thanks John! I had mine probably 5-6 years now. I like them quite a bit. They are a nice addition to collection. Thanks for watching and checking it out! Hope you're staying safe during these times
That is something I don't have but need to add to my cast iron cookware. Looks easy enough to use and would be great to try over the campfire. Thanks for making me hungry again Karl. - Jeremy
Anything to promote good eatin'! Yeah Jeremy, once you get a few waffles under your belt it gets pretty easy and fun to use. If ya get some, I think you'll enjoy them. I looked them up for somebody a couple days ago. Seems like $25.00 and up is what they are going for now. Thanks for stopping in and checking them out. ATB to ya

Your skillet is an unmarked Wagner, likely made in the late 1950's in Sidney, OH. Mid 1960's they added Made in USA
Awesome!
Thanks!
Man I really enjoyed the video. For some reason I want waffles now. LOL on a side note guess who's getting a brand new cast iron waffle maker..😉😉
