I enjoyed the documentary very much and found it very helpful. It's what I imagine simple, sincere and pure devotion to Christ looked like. In North America, because of the large size, I sometimes feel more like being part of a big corporation with much activity but without spiritual power than a church. Wales is beautiful!

I didn't find this very good unfortunately. I appreciate mr. Pugh efforts but I don't find he is very good at making documentaries. What he decides to put in the film. The film seem to need more stories and anecdotes and not just general history. Everything in the film we pretty much already knew. To many over head shots and not enough of on the ground spots like church's and inside of places were things happened. Plus more photos from the time would have been nice. It wasn't exciting story telling as it should have been. There needed to be more intimate detail of the people and events to make it more real and impact full to us. History should not be told by just retteling the facts of events but filled with intimate details and stories . Just my opinion. I do thank Mr Pugh and all involved who made this , I just believe it could have been better. Just my opinion, sorry if I've been over critical. We all can learn and improve, there's nothing wrong with that.

I understand. I too felt it was a shame there weren’t more personal details and anecdotes, because those were the things I read in books which captured my interest in church history and revival. They are indeed important parts of storytelling, and had it been a longer episodic series or a documentary about a single revival (or a single person, like my Matthew Henry documentary), then there would have been more of them, but in an overview of all Welsh church history there’s only so much that can fit into two hours. The primary target audience are those with little or no knowledge of the subject, and there’s a reading list inside the DVD set for them to delve deeper. I believe you need to give a big picture overview first as an introduction to the facts of events and a grounding, without it being dry or boring, of course. But I agree we can all learn and improve, and I always appreciate constructive criticism.
