As a former bookseller, I love this. The page flipping and the "sticky fingers" on the cover were the best parts ! ^^ Also loved the rain at the end :) (rain + books = heaven).
I've been listening to this video pretty heavily and thinking about it on and off -- it seems to have hit those parts of my brain that like to make intuitive leaps of understanding to put everything together. So, naturally, I've overanalyzed it and written my thoughts and interpretations down here: The Library: The Library is a mental manifestation of the entirety of the mind. It's a metaphorical illusion with the premise and function of providing a general form of access to every thought, memory and feeling, past and present, that a person has. The Library is quite large and the volumes are quite comprehensive, full, and when opened, demand to be read and comprehended in full, which can cause the Patron -- the person going to the library -- to be absorbed and consumed by them ("... you often have got trapped in a book that consumes you" @ 3:46), which can negate the purpose of entering the Library to begin with. So in order to actually *use* the Library properly without being lost, a Focus is required. Enter... The Librarian: Tabularius Rosa ("Tabby"), which is a slight mutation of Tabula Rasa, or Blank Slate. If the Library were a database and the Volumes were records, the Librarian would be the query language and the means of access, capable of inference and referential interpretation but probably only in objective, analytical ways, and any guidance provided would be based on the qualities of the data (the found passage or book in question or Patron responses) and their relevance in relation to *each other*. The Librarian and the Library both essentially work at the behest of... The Patron: The protagonist of this tale, imputed into the viewer but there could have been (and I personally think there *is*) a specific sort of character in mind. The Patron is actively creating and maintaining the Library of the Mind and its Librarian as they work through an event that caused them to need to interact with their own mind through this interface represented through an illusory metaphor, which is allowing them a kind of neutral ground for interacting with their own conscious and subconscious mind in a way understandable to each. Which brings us to... The Inciting Event: This is certainly not the Patron's first visit to the Library ("each time you come"; "*usually* this is the option you *usually* choose" @ 19:45), and the fact that the Patron is here again may indicate that even deleting the memory doesn't necessarily work, or something has caused the memory to resurface anyway. This is additionally hinted when Tabby reads from Lullaby @ 14:22 "Doesn't reincarnation strike you as just another form of procrastination?" The repeated visits, in turn, are their own form of reincarnation, and they're occurring likely because in previous visits, the Patron found the memory they were looking for, saw it, and either (1) elected to forget it or (2) elected to remember it and eventually *buried it again*, but either way, the Patron's reappearance in the Library likely means that (3) it has resurfaced. Given the age of Mind Power and its correlation to the age of the memory, it may have originated in childhood; given the passage read from Mind Power, with it being specifically being about standing or sitting "higher than another", there was a definite imbalance of power. I, uh, refuse to speculate further. Anyway, amazing video, amazing story, amazing setting. I love it, it's one of my favorites (ever), very well done.
I love this Neb; its like a Memory Palace, but rather than simply labeling the pieces of the palace, you have an "expert' to interact with. Presumably this expert (you) would not only know how to find what you seek, but the best ways to do it. Which begs the question, could you ask this expert a question like, "What should I get my wife Priscilla for her birthday?" and it would simply rely on the past? on the past? Or could this "expert" pull from adaptation and improvisation and come up with something interesting? Cool idea
At 14 years old I racked up $200+ in public library fees because I checked out Radiohead's full discography and "forgot" to return it. Perhaps we could just erase that memory, no I would not like see it and remember a time before Spotify. Lol thank you for the creativity Neb! You never fail to impress us💞
its been ten years since i read lullaby. such a cool and weird book. palahniuk is a very good author, its a shame that only david fincher was able to adapt his work on a movie - lullaby could easily be a tv show on hbo or something, the end, in perspective, is almost like an origin story. 🤔🧐
@@NebulaASMR YES! fine movie, not as iconic as fight club, but solid. ir was directed by the dude who played agent coulson on a bunch of marvel movies. i wish palahniuk was an author like stephen king when it comes to movies, but it take a whole lot of guts to produce his stuff. i remember that people would adapt SURVIVOR but 9/11 came and a whole chunk of the book is about a plane accident so it become impossible. LULLABY still could work. RANT would be awesome, its a great book, i could imagine stanley kubrick doing it, but once its not possible to reasons of being dead, i think that darren aranofski could direct. very fragmented narrative about time traveling and becoming a god like entity crazy crazy stuff. lol
I’m going to need you to find the books titled “middle school” for me and burn them. I’ll forget multiplication and division but it’s a small price to pay to get rid of those awkward memories forever!

I'd say pull from the past and improvise from there :)
my Mind Palace is so advanced i have a librarian for it

well, i'd say radiohead is worth it haha!
This is quite relaxing and a wonderful role play! Thank you for the tingles, Nebby!
There isn't nearly enough screaming, or fire to be an accurate representation of my mind.
It's Friday night somewhere still I'm watching my favorite stargazer Nebula! She's terrific and amazing! 🌌🖖🌟🔭🌙
Great vid.💙💛🖤💚💜❤
thanks toni :)
Nice rhythm.
There's like two overworked brain cells trying to comprise my mind. I doubt the library of my mind looks this big. Maybe a pamphlet in a dirty alley.

they made a movie for Choke as well, with sam rockwell :) i agree~ he's an amazing writer
