      @@DavidSmith-hn5gg The Hornet looks more suitable for older rider, and the MT-07 looks more aggressive & modern looking definitely having more younger buyers.
      Talking about the Hornet's loads of electronics, they are less usefull for its limited hp of 2 cylinder engine. Features like quickshift and auto blipper are more suitable for fast bikes and having 3 cylinders and more which are able to rev higher in a longer period of time, or 2 cylinder with big capacity like the KTM Superduke R 1290. Those big bike features in the Hornet will make it more boring to use since it's limited in high speed capability. Furthermore, it's less comfortable than the R7. One bike dominate as being fancy but lacking of reliability, the other having the other way around. More comments at the outside

    The main reason why particularly Honda engines, making a more linear power and higher horsepower at higher RPM but smooth low torque (comparing if Honda have similar capacity with Yamaha) is because the construction behind the engine. Honda usually have a shorter stroke with bigger bore and making its peak torque at higher RPM (therefore have low torque but higher horsepower) compared to other bikes like the MT lines that have smaller bore but longer stroke (therefore producing less horsepower but strong torque) at lower RPM compared to Honda bikes.
    The construction of this main component that influence how power are delivered to the rear wheel makes the 2 brands like Yamaha and Honda have different purposes and style of riding. Honda makes a smoother smaller torque at low RPM but high horsepower at high RPM, where the purpose of their bikes are to always go faster to compensate the usually heavy weight, better at straight lines & on the road with less traffic, compared to Yamaha MT lines where they have power at low RPM making them very comfortable, nimble and fun for daily urban riding, good at navigating corners, up and down hills very well, however still be able to hit good at straight lines due to their lightweight.
    This 2 bikes are not that hard to choose if you know what are you going to use your bike for, either for daily ride to work, or weekend ride, etc. They both have pro and cons but what characteristic of the either bikes that win the purpose of your riding needs will be the main tings to consider worth of spending.
    Buying either of the bikes to keep for generations you don't have to worry about the quality since both or all the big 4 Japanese bikes are known for their great quality and long term reliability, it's the matter of choosing which will last longer in term of the availability of spare parts to keep the originality, or otherwise go for customisation.

    • @MTTRASH1
      @MTTRASH1 Рік тому +2

      Thicker tyres have more traction because of the larger contact area. And I believe more stable in a straight line.
      Thinner tyres are more nimble, making the bike more 'flickable' and less effort to make the bike lean.
      Realistically for commuting/touring it doesn't matter. The pros and cons are very small

    Well, all these things are just stats and numbers. On paper Honda is better. On real world I don't know. The MT 07 has almost 10 years of perfection, but Honda are giving Yamaha a hard time with the Hornett. I read and view a lot of reviews, and all of them say that the Yamaha is still a more fun bike to ride, but Hornett is a very solid bike and the its the best value for the money. Its a hard decision to make. Lets see what Yamaha will do for 2024.

    However there's one small problem. You can't buy the thing in America it's Asian and European only. The only thing that we have that comes close is the CB650R. Which has a smaller displacement motor, has a 4 cylinder setup instead of a twin, and costs slightly more. So yeah, Europe got the better bike , in my opinion.

      The Hornet is boring on the inverted fork, stiff as fuck but slow on the highway, that configuration is better for a 3 or 4 cylinders faster bikes like the CB/CBR650R, Hornet is just a failure of city ride with uncomfortable suspension, unnecessary throttle by wyre and quickshifter/autoblipper which should be put and more fun on those faster bike like the CB650R. Slow bike with qs/autoblipper is a waste of advantage, a longer wheelbase making it harder to turn / corner and avoid traffic. Having the look of city bike but failed to do its job. Get the CB650 instead. Better looking for town ride and can go fast on the highway

    The explanation sounds favouring the Hornet, however the Hornet just put on unnecessary electronics in their bikes like the ride by wire, compare to the MT-07 which put a lot of useful features in its display, compare to Hornet who have multiple choice display which basically doing the same things without providing more special yet useful features like the MT-07.
    Hornet's longer wheelbase making it harder to corner is nothing better than the MT-07 for a daily ride and to avoid congested traffic. It's more suitable to be use on the highway or less traffic road, which the MT-07 can do anyway. However the boring style of Hornet with 2 cylinder makes it even less fun to ride on the highway. It has a figure which is less attractive on the highway but more handsome on the city road, which however the MT-07 had taken a lot of the points of its use. The softer front suspension of the MT-07 makes it more comfortable for relaxing everyday ride, while the Hornet's "better" inverted forks are stiffer and rather more enjoyable for faster bikes like the CBR650R and the MT-09 on the highways.
    The MT-07 have wider tyre to compensate its torqy power, which means by using the same tyre profile as the Hornet, it will wear off faster. The futuristic fashion on the MT-07 with its aggressive style suits the wider real wheel and 180 tyre, makes it look more like a superbike.
