I think just having moodlets in The Sims 3 works way better than having a weird emotion system, because having an emotion system is really easy to screw up like the sims 4 did. Having one dominant emotion that shows up based on how many moodlets of said emotion you have just makes the sims feel one-dimensional
I like the idea of emotion system, I think it was just implemented poorly in sims 4. Like I always wanted for example if your sim cheats I want their spouse to be jealous and fight with me and with the person they cheated with. But sometimes it doesn’t work at all and all three of them just have a normal conversation like nothing happened meanwhile all of them are sad/angry. Emotion system is a great idea on paper

I was fortunate enough to have friends that lived next door to me and was able to play Sims 3 there before getting it myself for the Xbox 360. Awesome times. Sims 4 isn't terrible, I've played way worse, but I don't feel the same joy with it.
How have you survived so long without the greatness of this pack omg Some of the things i loved about it were: - the swing set is modular/expandable - at sleepovers, the guest kids would pull out sleeping bags and sleep on the floor at a certain point - adults could woohoo in the treehouse LOL - prom (sometimes your sim would go single and come back with a romantic interest) - graduation (the whole family would go if i remember correctly) - kids were generally quite fun to play - i think bunk beds were in this pack too? Which was totally awesome - the imaginary friend, which could also become a "real kid" if your kid's friendship with it was high enough. It was a whole thing and gave plenty of content for kids and even a goal for toddlers - elders can reminisce together which is totally cute - i think rocking chairs were a thing too? - when you switch from your child sim to another sim, if their imaginary friend is walking around, it'll become invisible - parents can teach their teens to drive!!! - finally, didn't laundry also come with this pack? Or was it ambitions? Either way, i think the only two packa you truly *need* for in-depth gameplay on ts3 are generations and ambitions, everything else is just nice to have. In the sims 4, however ........
Rocking chairs came with Supernatural and laundry came with Ambitions/University but you're so right about how much stuff is in this pack, it's crazy compared to TS4! You can also pull pranks on your neighbours like throw eggs on their house, have your kids go to afterschool classes and so much more.
@@skylerjcc You aren't the only one. Every time I turn around, the imaginary friend is picking a fight with their kid before flimsily apologizing which greatly hurts their relationship. All that progress I've been making down the drain in a few short moments. Also, they keep getting in the way of my Sims' pathfinding. I tend to tell them to go away, lmao.
@@Takejiro24 The steam workshop has a great tutorial for tweaking the pathfinding so its more like Sims 4 and things don't get in the way lol My sims never complain about routing unless something is blocking the way
This pack is incredible. You can litearlly have a family camera and film your sims and watch them later gaining a positive moodlet, as someone who mainly plays families with long generations this pack is *chefs kiss* - also all the houses you get with it? They are amazing, they are so lovely to both use and place for townies to use.
I love making sim home films. And then watching my terrible camera skills with the sims. I’d then pass down the films and photos from generatio to generation. I loved this game so much. Sims 4 could actually never like literally i hate it so much.
Sims 3 is what I primarily play today. Occasionally building on TS4, but generations was by far the best expansion pack for family gameplay. Every Sims 3 pack always hyped everyone up because we all knew sims 3 packs all in all were loaded with gameplay and content. Although I don't like sims 3 clothes or some hairs, the graphics were honestly not bad. It's more realistic and I like that about the sims 3 as well. I feel like the sims 4 gave off a really cartoony look and it made it hard for me to switch over at first. CC is a fix for these problems. CC + TS3 = *chefs kiss*
finding good cc for sims 3 is such a struggle like it'll look nice in the pic but when I put it in my game it looks like a toddler drew it with crayons anyone got any good cc sites I can look at? I desperately need good cc I have like 5 shirts for men and 8 shirts for women that actually look decent help me please!!
ik the date BUT when it comes to like decent sims 3 hair i used to SWEAR BY The sims resource especially i think their name was nightcrawler ? anyways super realistic hair and the styles may be a tad outdated (most is from 2015) but i enjoyed them and when i play nowadays i still use them
I have all of the Sims 3 that came out. I have a gaming desktop computer so I can run all of them together with a graphics card that let's me run all the graphics turned all the way up. Because of this I love playing Sims3. With mods added too I don't think there is any game better for solo play. I love building mansions and having the generations all under the same roof. Great Grandparents to infants. I'm just sorry Sims 4 didn't finish what they did in Sims 3.
@@isabellamarvel9400 If not due to lack of specs, possibly for not turning on FPS Limiter. Sims 3 doesn't have a frame limit, so it may spike up to a thousand frames per second, to the point your computer could start overheating and force it to shut down.
Fishfinger probably pranked grandma's chair. That was the color sparkles. So he got in trouble. Teens were so fun in this. The parents can get called away for a "vacation" and the teens could throw a house party. They could have sleepovers and use the sleeping bags in their bedrooms for their friends. And go to prom and graduation. Honestly this pack was more essential than seasons, I'm SHOCKED that you never played it before!
I like that they can dream about things when sleeping with this pack and then they want to fulfill those things the next day. Such as like dreaming about being prom queen the day before the prom etc.
There's so much in this pack, I could play very happily with just base game and generations. There should be lullaby music when your Sim gets pregnant, but I've noticed that it doesn't always play even when they do get pregnant.
I loved this pack- especially the Imaginary Friend I had a game where all my legacy children brought the Dolls to life, married them and started to fill the town. 😂

I love supernatural, but if you make a child of a witch and an imaginary friend, the child can be a witch but can't use spells. the same situation with fairies. Another thing I hate is pudding face. All imaginary friends, as well as newly generated residents, have the same facial structure, and if you do not take them to a plastic surgeon, marriage with them will gradually produce offspring with the same face
I’ve been playing sims 3 for the past week after finally figuring out how to get it to work on my computer! It’s just SO much more than what sims 4 could ever be. I’ve been playing with just 1 male sim and so much has happened.. I love that things actually make sense in this game too. Actions equal consequences 👏
If your toddler sim is a vampire, if you watch them play with the teddy bear you might see them (rather violently) jerk the bear's head back and bite their neck. I can't remember if they do it to the imaginary friend or not. Also the sleeping bag is awesome for World Adventures, and waaaay cheaper then buying a tent.
Not to necro this, but every supernatural has a special toddler anim in Sims 3. Witches randomly make toys disappear, fairies float around as a toddler, little werewolves can practice hunting/howl/scratch items. I loved playing each supernatural to see all of these differences.

This is super random but he mentioned the Little Camper Kit and it made me think, “Omg what if I took my sim’s kid and all their friends on a little camping trip in the woods that could be so fun!” Excuse me while I go help my sim’s child make some friends 😂
So the red sparkly thingy on the chair at min 5:52 is actually to indicate that someone has placed a trap / prank there. therefore when the granny sat on it she got an embarrassed moodlet. (the kid had placed a farting bag thingy), which is why he also got scolded later on.
Over a decade of Sims 3 and I still find out about new things! Maybe because I always do same things in particular playstyle. Anyway, the fact that others can't see an imaginary friend is so amazing!

I have been playing a lot of 3 lately and the immersion is just so amazing. EVERY little thing actually MATTERS in 3. Your Sim’s achievements feel like YOURS lol. Love how they keep stats on literally everything too.

That was truly amazing, I really enjoyed the gameplay, I was stuck on the Sims 2 when 3 came out. I didn't appreciate the graphics, so I couldn't be bothered, but OMG did I miss out , Sims 2/Sims 4 graphics +Sims 3 gameplay = Sims 5 perfection 🥰❤️ thank you for the eye opening experience 😘
dude, sims 4 could never make your toddler learn how to walk. That was such a big thing for me on sims 3 that I loved, and when the toddler did learn how to walk, it was the cutest thing ever. Now, toddlers just feel like a chore.

I've played this pack for years and there are still features I haven't come across. So in depth, I love it. My only gripe.. and it's a small one.. but I wish you could edit pregnancy outfits. Other than that - wonderful.
As a real life parent to 5 kids yes we will woohoo in a treehouse or anywhere else we can find especially when you have little people who come crawling into your bed unannounced at any time of the night 😂
After trying to like sims 4 for a few months (even gaslit myself into buying another expansion pack thinking it'll finally not be boring) I gave up and went back to sims 3. I left sims 3 because of how laggy it was, but after a few hours of mod exploring now my game run smoothly 95% of the time! Gameplay is just superior in any other sims game EXCEPT for sims4 despite its mind boggling list of expansions. ((Also I started saying "sims 4 could never!" every single time I rediscovered a neat feature in sims 3 lol)

I forgot I even bought Sims 3 (I got it on sale along with pets/seasons/generations, but then less than 3 months later my kid talked me into getting Sims4 when it was on sale for $5 on Origin, lol) & was scrolling through my Steam games & saw it just now, so I am on a Sims3 vid kick now. I had it years ago when it first came out & of course it crashed me laptop every 5secs. So I'm interested to see how it'll run now on a beastly gaming pc.
Idk how many years it’s been since I played Sims but I’m gonna start again. All I typically see for Sims 4 s short videos or building videos and In comparison The Sims 3 is UNTOUCHABLE so I’m gonna be more focused on getting the Sims 3 lol. I love the adventures and the Sims are so unhinged 😂
Yep, even tho sims 3 lagged it was everything. I love things about the sims 4, but i feel like when they created it, it was only meant to be a build and cas game no gameplay. Although without cars its hard to get into realistic building.
This is normal for how big the Sims 2 and 3 packs actually were. People have forgotten how big they were. They are too used to the minuscule sized packs with minimal gameplay that has become the norm for Sims 4. Extensions for The Sims 2 and 3 really DID totally extend the game. Game packs for The Sims 2 and 3 were considerably bigger than extensions for The Sims 4. Stop making excuses for EA and The Sims 4 team!! They've been completely ripping you guys off for years!! I love teaching my teen sims to drive If the relationship is high enough u can even teach other kids to drive outside your household but u need a car and only adults and older can teach them.
3:45 to answer this I have found a way but it requires university . So if you woohoo or try for baby I’ve noticed if you click on phone and scroll to enroll in university it will be grayed out and say you cannot due this while your sim is pregnant so that’s how I normally know . I think fire pit is similar or works too from island living but other than that you don’t normally know
Barry did not need to be killed, try for baby being grey the second time means she's pregnant, bc you only had 7 sims and 8 is max other "pregnancy tests" in Sims 3, which do not rely on the number of household members, include the options to go to Uni or a forgein country on the PC/phone or the option to time travel with the time portal being greyed out, and I believe you also cant use the tardis from supernatural
3:50 You cant try for baby anymore because she is already pregnant (7 sims in houshold + 1 one the way). You didn't have to kill off poor Bootylicious Berry.

The way I tell if it worked or not is by going to the phone and applying to University. The option is grayed out because pregnant Sims can't apply.

Sims 3 is so funny and there’s so much to do it’s insane. I still want them to put hand to the Island pack bugs and it would be my favourite game ever

That was truly amazing, I really enjoyed the gameplay, I was stuck on the Sims 2 when 3 came out. I didn't appreciate the graphics, so I couldn't be bothered, but OMG did I miss out , Sims 2/Sims 4 graphics +Sims 3 gameplay = Sims 5 perfection 🥰❤️ thank you for the eye opening experience 😘

dude, sims 4 could never make your toddler learn how to walk. That was such a big thing for me on sims 3 that I loved, and when the toddler did learn how to walk, it was the cutest thing ever. Now, toddlers just feel like a chore.

I've played this pack for years and there are still features I haven't come across. So in depth, I love it. My only gripe.. and it's a small one.. but I wish you could edit pregnancy outfits. Other than that - wonderful.
I think you can edit the maternity outfits with a mod
As a real life parent to 5 kids yes we will woohoo in a treehouse or anywhere else we can find especially when you have little people who come crawling into your bed unannounced at any time of the night 😂
Wow, the Sims 3 Generations expansion is literally the best pack ever made for the Sims series.
I'm pretty sure you can run a kindergarten with this pack, which was so much fun, but also exhausting!
After trying to like sims 4 for a few months (even gaslit myself into buying another expansion pack thinking it'll finally not be boring) I gave up and went back to sims 3. I left sims 3 because of how laggy it was, but after a few hours of mod exploring now my game run smoothly 95% of the time! Gameplay is just superior in any other sims game EXCEPT for sims4 despite its mind boggling list of expansions.
((Also I started saying "sims 4 could never!" every single time I rediscovered a neat feature in sims 3 lol)
I would love to see you build a home in sims 1, sims 2, sims 3 and sims 4 and make them look as much as the same house if you can.

I forgot I even bought Sims 3 (I got it on sale along with pets/seasons/generations, but then less than 3 months later my kid talked me into getting Sims4 when it was on sale for $5 on Origin, lol) & was scrolling through my Steam games & saw it just now, so I am on a Sims3 vid kick now. I had it years ago when it first came out & of course it crashed me laptop every 5secs. So I'm interested to see how it'll run now on a beastly gaming pc.

Idk how many years it’s been since I played Sims but I’m gonna start again. All I typically see for Sims 4 s short videos or building videos and In comparison The Sims 3 is UNTOUCHABLE so I’m gonna be more focused on getting the Sims 3 lol. I love the adventures and the Sims are so unhinged 😂

Yep, even tho sims 3 lagged it was everything. I love things about the sims 4, but i feel like when they created it, it was only meant to be a build and cas game no gameplay. Although without cars its hard to get into realistic building.

This is normal for how big the Sims 2 and 3 packs actually were. People have forgotten how big they were. They are too used to the minuscule sized packs with minimal gameplay that has become the norm for Sims 4. Extensions for The Sims 2 and 3 really DID totally extend the game. Game packs for The Sims 2 and 3 were considerably bigger than extensions for The Sims 4. Stop making excuses for EA and The Sims 4 team!! They've been completely ripping you guys off for years!! They don't deserve it!!

I love teaching my teen sims to drive If the relationship is high enough u can even teach other kids to drive outside your household but u need a car and only adults and older can teach them.

3:45 to answer this I have found a way but it requires university . So if you woohoo or try for baby I’ve noticed if you click on phone and scroll to enroll in university it will be grayed out and say you cannot due this while your sim is pregnant so that’s how I normally know . I think fire pit is similar or works too from island living but other than that you don’t normally know

other "pregnancy tests" in Sims 3, which do not rely on the number of household members, include the options to go to Uni or a forgein country on the PC/phone or the option to time travel with the time portal being greyed out, and I believe you also cant use the tardis from supernatural
