If you bother to look up their stats, the 101 and 102 are in the top 10% of all suburban routes - an average of >8K total riders per day on 268 trips. They've been running for over a century so _somebody_ clearly likes them.
Yes - they're putting in new power systems and adding automatic safety controls (CBTC). I'm pretty sure they've already installed welded rail on most of the ROW as well. And dontcha just love people who post snarky comments without bothering to look up the facts?!
