Oh my god.. this is 1000% true. I just got 2 tickets for Ice Nine Kills again for this November...and the price initially was around $54 for each ticket..but then once all the fees were added, I ended up being charged almost $170. Crazy. This was hilarious! Also, you definitely need to do more skits! Very entertaining. I hope you have a wonderful weekend 😊

What's stupid is if you actually go to a box office they don't charge you service fees there. Like, how in the hell does that make sense?

As funny as the skit is, it's actually why I don't go to concerts much anymore. I used to go to something nearly once a month, but now it's like once a year. Two tickets now costs four. Same with my local movie theater. They don't have ticket windows anymore and you have to buy online, but the fee is basically paying for an extra ticket, which are already outrageous.

I do care about him as a friend, because his videos helped me to go through a massive heartbreak in last year after I finally left my narcissistic boyfriend of 9 years. Thanks to him I came back to be myself again. And seeing him like this is just sad. As an Empath it actually hurts in some way. Because I wish I could help, but I know I can't.

I was with him for a long time too but he eventually showed his true colors to me. Not long after the break up is when I started watching Steve’s videos, and he has helped me so much! So true. I'm such a dinosaur. Going to concerts in the 70s...7 bucks for a ticket,2 bucks for parking. Bag of goodies for 20 bucks. Music is "free" on the internet but a freaking ticket is 200 dollars. Funny video.

I decided NOT to go to a Slaughter to Prevail show due to this very issue. The tickets were about $25-$30 (no issue there), but after all the different fees and taxes it was about $55 ticket, it was just out of principle that I couldn't do it.

It's really CrAzY what they charge these days. In my early years a concert was usually $20 or so. Even for big names like Van Halen or Ozzy. I've recently heard of tickets to Taylor Swift going for as much as $3000 and resellers getting as much as $11,000.
I would never even consider such stupidity. I would rather give that money to charity. The greed is out of control! Thanks Steve for the painful truth.

I went to see Panic! At The Disco in October 2022 and the price at first said 50 dollars but all the fees were added plus the prices of the people coming with me and the hotel and gas money. It costed like 200 dollars. We drove 12 hours from Montana to Denver and slept in Wyoming and my aunts house both ways.

Like everyone else said, this is so true!! 😆 I've only been to about 5 concerts in my life, but one of them was free because my cousin got 2 tickets for her birthday and had me go with her. It was to see Alice Cooper and Mötley Crüe. That was actually the first concert I ever went to, and the first year Nita Strauss started touring with Alice, I think. Totally epic experience for my first concert. But the other ones I went to weren't free. And yeah, the fees suck! 😅 I was going to see Dream Theater with Devin Townsend and Animals As Leaders this year, but opted out of that. Concerts just don't feel the same anymore, imo. Plus, I hate traveling, and all the bands I want to see never come to my city, and I hate large crowds. 😅 So I didn't feel like it was worth the hassle. Would've loved to see them though.
On a side, I'm not feeling very good today, but seeing a new video from you makes me feel a little bit better. I was worried about you and been missing you a lot. 🥲❤️

So true. I went to see Depeche Mode. Lawn ticket was $20, my total came to $44! I went to a White Sox baseball game and the cheapest tickets were $15, I bought it at the box office window and the total still came to $22.50! My best experience believe it or not was in NYC at a Yankees game. I walked up to the box office window, stared at the seating/pricing chart for about a minute until the guy at the window said "How much you want to spend?" I slide him my credit card and said $40. He said "hows section 334 sound?" I said "sounds good." He slides me the ticket, my card and receipt back. I look over the receipt and it was actually only $40! I was confused and said "no fee, no taxes?" And he replied in that classic New York accent "No! Forty dollars is forty dollars!" It was honestly this amazing feeling to get exactly what I wanted

I booked to see Ozzy Osbourne (3yrs ago, should have seen him this year but it was eventually cancelled after many delays - I understand why ) and that was £40 of extra FEES ontop of the price for two tickets (thankfully all refunded now!). 1. I'm so glad I was able to attend so many concerts in the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's. I feel sorry for younger people today.. it's ridiculous, and I'm hoping that more people protest this nonsense. (Me: Fook that shite) Edit: I live in SE Europe so I'm in a different arena, anyway. I'm out of the North American scene.
2, Damn, I sound old. Fun fact: GenX is getting older, but now we're lumped into the the same demographic as my mother, who is conservative, grew up in the 50's, and hates "That ROCK music." It's surreal. I still love Alice in Chains and Tool and am more into metal than ever. Including Djent. I've been to some pretty intense concerts in my day, young man.. kids today are so soft. Ha.
3. I'm always glad to see a new video from you. You are still on my radar, and probably always will be. Your videos have helped me through hard times. Although if I keep watching as I get older, I may end up really, truly, actually, literally peeing my pants laughing. . (I've come close)

I'm going to be honest I've never paid for a concert (I'm under 18) any more expensive than £10 (or $ where your from) but based on what I've seen for some concerts, the prices were pretty accurate. And as always Steve, this was a good laugh😂😂

Let's not forget about parking fees for major concerts, which I have heard can range up to $120 or more near Climate Pledge Arena and T-Mobile Park in Seattle. At some point the artists are going to band together and form their own ticket system just so they can get more fans in the stands...or so you would think.

Concert tickets were getting ridiculous 20 years ago. They do it because Ticket Master thinks we will pay anyway. They think we are rubes. ATM's that cough up infinite money at their demand. The only way to cure them of that idea is to stop going to concerts altogether.
