In 1928 the soul of Burt Bacharach decided to incarnate and live on Earth, among other things, to compose unforgettable melodies with the purpose of making this world a better place and enrich our own souls by rejoicing in his art. After a long earthly life, his soul decided that it was time to return to his place of origin. Thank you very much Burt for being with us!

Great tribute to the GREATEST composer BURT BACHARACH. I am 64 yrs old and i am a fan of him for 50 yrs. These incredible songs of him are the soundtrack of my life! The way he compose was unique and not only this but he was also a great conductor, piano player, arranger, producer and accompanist. There will never be another composer then the GREAT BURT BACHARACH! BURT may you rest in peace. Thank you for all these great songs you left behind. BURT BACHARACH my music hero. And to Bruno Ferrari i only can say.....a great tribute for this great man!
His lyrics encompassed my entire life and at age 70, I am truly grieving the loss of Burt Bacharach. He was a perfectionist and composed these melodies dictated by his entire heart and soul ..very deep... I believe. Thank you for sharing this. Such a gift.
Bacharach wrote the music; Hal David wrote the lyrics. Think about how it meshed into a gorgeous song that will last forever. Burt died on Feb 8th, 2023... a genius among us... as so many are.
Bruno, thank you. You know Bacharach's output very well! A very interesting combo of his tunes, all arranged by the Maestro himself! "The Bell that Couldn't Jingle" is an often overlooked classic! Well done!
thank you so much for the message. I'm the first surprise to see how this mixtape is appreciate. And yes, honestly I know very well the Maestro. I will made a second volume next week for having a complete panel of his work. So stay tuned 🙂 (don't hesitate to share it. Thanks)
Bruno, thank you for uploading this. I can’t help but cry knowing he is gone. I’m 67 and I grew up loving all his songs, even to the point of memorizing them. I am so in love with him up to now even he’s gone. His music will live forever in our hearts. His passion and his love is his music. You could feel and see it in the way he handles his orchestra. And to you Mr Burt, thank you for your love of music. I’ve been singing your songs almost everyday❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm 54 years old i grew up with these songs When i'm children my father play this songs and and I loved them right away many thank's burt this songs never die.....so many people have fallen in love with these songs (me too). Thank's Bruno for this collection and many man thank's Burt for this ear candy (Bruno i have the vinil portrait in music vol 1 & 2 me too :-)). Burt rest in peace.
I first found out about his song "Raindrops keep falling on my head" in 1970. Then I got to know him as a composer and arranger in 1973, through a friend who had several records of his and gave me one of them. During the 70's I got to know more and more of his music. I loved his orchestral arrangements. Despite the fact that Lost Horizon was not as successful as expected, I always liked the film and its music and lyrics (later Ha David parted ways with Burt). The musical structure with the orchestral arrangements always stood out in my taste. I listen to his music frequently until his last public performances. Honor and respect to his memory.
When I was a baby I had a musical box that played "Raindrops keep falling on my head" in my crib. You can say I was almost born with the sound of Bacharach in my ears. One of my earliest memories is hearing "Three Wheels on My Wagon" on the radio, with my mother singing along and I adored its daft premise immediately. My parents were Carpenters fans, so I often got to hear "Close to You", not to mentioned the very many of his hits on the radio. "Magic Moments" indeed! It would be a while before I realised all these remarkable (and varied) tunes were composed by the same man. My first time seeing the name "Burt Bacharach" was on the 7" single of "Casino Royale", then later, when my sister got into punk rock, I heard The Stranglers doing "Walk on By", and there was that name again. In my 20s, after hearing the "Portrait in Music" compilation, I recognised his genius and decided to collect everything I could. My collection is _almost_ complete. I recently acquired "Sometimes Late at Night" by Carole Bayer Sager, which is as much Burt's record as it is Carole's. Only a few rare cuts to track down now...I was lucky to see Burt live a few years before his death. What a gentle, brilliant person!
Music is one of the most sublime achievements of human soul. When Bacharach was showing at a rehearsal the children to sing in the choir that afterwards was to serve the children of 'Lost Horizon', the most beatiful musical I ever have seen, together with the wonderful story narrated, he was teaching the children how the music they were singing grew with the fabulous orchestra from minus to full sound of the whole instruments of the orchestra, exactly as he was saying those children grew up afterwards in later life. US really have deeply admired the great talent of this extraordinary so prolific music composer and subtle orchestrator, how he dis(played) each and all the different instruments of the orchestra and the chorus, the solo singers and solo instruments, alike. US enjoy his music to the fullest deepest and his longevity unto old age demonstrates that only the super human beings with their great achievements are enabled to reach such old age longevity as if they were eternal, certainly his lovely music will be for ever! Thank you so much for facilitating such magnificent recordings.
Cresci, envelheci ouvindo Burt. Concordo totalmente com o comentário que fala de sua encarnação, aqui conosco. Obrigada Burt, você tornou minha vida melhor, mais leve , feliz e emocionante. Thank you. Até breve.
Lost Horizon soundtrack is really wonderful. Perhaps his best soundtrack? Terrible shame about the movie itself, which bombed so hard that the Bacharach/David partnership had to end.
One of the Best hits selections Bacharach’s hits I have heard, thank you Bruno , I grown up with these wonderful music . So many stories, so many memories ..❤
memories come flooding back to my youth, does bring so many emotions. This beautiful music was playing in every room of our house. My dear friends and soul mate listened to his music at our beach house. Life was beautiful. This man is pure genius. Hands down, my favorite composer of all time
Beautiful! Tears flowing!😭 Thank You so much for doing this and posting it! Grateful to people like you keeping timeless legends such as Burt on here for us to continue to Love and Enjoy. Just about to listen to part 2. Thank You Burt for giving us so much fantasic and timeless Music. Love You, your music, those big blue eyes and great smile of yours Forever!! Listening since the 1960's and will continue to do so. Bless You and Rest Easy Handsome.
When I was a student far away from my parents. It was a number of songs by Bacharach that healed my lonely feelings. Nostalgic memories of my school days even now. You idiot, be forever.
Came a new genre of music in the mid to late 60`s. It was called 'NOT R&R, NOT R&B'. Even as the tidal wave of R&R and R&B was engulfing popular music, to the delight of the baby-boomers, the pre baby-boomers and even some of the older baby-boomers were just not diggin it. Bacharach and David, Alpert and Moss, Englebert, The Carpenters, Tom Jones, and other less prominent acts, they mined that vein of unacceptance. What Bacharach did was not so great in and of itself. After all, they were the same basic 3 verse songs with a chorus between each verse, that Tin Pan Alley had been putting out for decades. The greatness of them was in juxtaposition to the new stuff that was simultaneously coming along, 'Walk on By' versus 'InAGaddaDaVida BABY!', 'Close to You' versus 'Hey Jude'. You see my point............
Bruno Ferrari, this is the best compilation upload I have ever heard. You picked the best songs, and chose many with the horns playing. Yes, yes, yes. Great intuition for actually, (really), THE BEST of our beloved Burt. He's become almosr all that I will listen to. He takes me out of this world, indeed. Nobody has done that to me. And I hope we remember that he once said that his mother would help him at times. I wish we knew more about her.
As canções de Burt leva-nos a levitar para uma dimensão superior a esta, terrena, a dimensão do sonho bpm, do amor sublime. Muito obrigado, Bacharach, por, em meu tempo de vida, poder ouvi-lo!
Burt Bacharack is dead. I cried while singing "Wat The World Needs Now is Love", which the world needs most now. I think they are similar. I think it's very similar to the saying in Buddhism (especially in Japan) that "I know I'm content"
30:45 Look of Love... Bacharach/David fused...Hard to imagine David without Bacharach...or vice versa... thank Goddess and all powers above that we had them! Yes we did...for a brief moment in time...this was a gorgeous way to define those moments...
Wives should always be lovers too... damn...so beautiful. Yep... the musical underlying score of my life, sharing 1/4s space with Dylan and the Beatles. That writing team was a once in a millenium writing duo... beyond beauty underlying so much...
What a great selection. Thank you for posting. It’s clear that Burt regarded these albums as important as the productions he made with his cohort of vocalists. What arrangements! I remember fondly the time when multiple copies of these albums could be picked up all across London for 10 or 20p at the Record And Tape Exchanges!
At the start of the 90s, Bucharach was consider has an "elevator music artist". Then in in the middle of the same decade, some artists in UK, like Oasis or Blur, claim at which point he is important. Just after, an Easy Listening revival arrive, then Austin Powers, and the legend start to live....
If Burt had possessed any degree of acting talent he would have been a movie idol for sure. I think it is unusual for a brilliant composer-arranger to possess drop-dead good looks.
Apart from his natural good looks, Burt's father (whose name was *Bert* Bacharach) wrote a book on male grooming. And when Burt was touring as musical director for Marlene Dietrich, she gave him extra advice about looking dapper, and gave him one of her scarves, which he treasured and wore often. She told him always to look "impeccably disheveled". He had excellent guidance. A very handsome fellow indeed, right up until the end.
Thank you very, very much to have included such a wonderful selection variation with some recordings unknown to US that always enriches the ample repertoire US already have from this magnificent music orchestrator, composer of music of distinct styles, which often US reproduce in karaokes amplifiers, with a micro myself with my voice accompanying, which US have sang and rehearsed many times already, that we shall not get tired unto repeating and repeating over and over and again. US were chosen bei profesor 'Moises' Esc(anciano), as a child tenor and counter tenor alto or falsete in the choir of boys, so for US can only derive great satisfaction when singing Burt Bacharach's beautiful, mos(tve)xciting, recordings. Thanks a lot again!
What is the title of the piece at 46:02, please? So familiar, but cannot remember the name! Grew up with all this music - the greatest pop music ever. Genius. Thank you for this compilation.
Bacharach/David EQUALLED GOLD! back in the day.... soundtrack of my life here in California/NYC circa 70s. Rock in the arms of all the Gods Burt... you made them/us so proud. Thank you so so much!
A partida de Burt, para mim, foi como se fosse a de um grande amigo que me acompanhou por mais de 55 anos da minha vida. Já sinto a sua falta meu maestro.😔 🎼🎵❤️
😢❤❤❤ I can never take away Burt Bacharach so is Hal Davis and Her Majesty, Ms Dionne Warwick and every song composed, written, produced by Burt and Hal and sang by Dionne..they are my life line.
Thanks for your feedback Elizabeth. Very kind of you. I work actually on the 2nd part of this tribube. Will probably be avalaible at the end of the week :-) Don't hesitate to share it
Bacharach's recordings of his own songs are _mostly_ unequaled. There are only two covers I can think of which eclipse the originals: Close to You (Carpenters) and I Say a Little Prayer (Aretha). Both were originally recorded by Dionne Warwick, with Burt arranging and producing, and those versions are still great. The reason Dionne Warwick's Bacharach cuts are so brilliant is because they were (mostly) produced and arranged by the man himself. He regarded Dionne as his primary interpreter for good reason - she could deliver those serpentine melodies effortlessly. You need to be something of a vocal athlete to handle something like "Do you know the way to San Josë?" Burt wanted Gene Pitney to be his primary male voice interpreter, but for contractural reasons, only managed to get a couple of cuts recorded. A handful of other artists had the privilege of singing Burt's songs with him producing (Cilla Black, Dusty Springfield, Elvis Costello etc.), and frankly, those songs are their best work. How many other pop composers played with time signatures the way he did and make it sound natural every time? Just throwing in a 3 beat or 2 beat measure during a 4 beat song. He did this quite often. It takes real skill and confidence to do that. The end section of "Anyone who had a heart" is in 13/8. It's bonkers, but sounds like honey. Certainly one of the most sophisticated pop composers of all time, way up there with George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Antonio Carlos Jobim. An artist with real depth and range, real sensitivity and richness. RIP Burt. You cast a long shadow.
Hi Edgar, thanks a lot for your message. I'll made a second part next week with another angle. Happy you enjoy my mix (don't hesitate to share it. Thanks)

It has been 14--almost 15 months since we lost Burt, and I still cannot believe that he is gone. I was nine years old when I first heard 'Tower of Strength" by Gene McDaniels on my Mother's old Motorola kitchen radio on WAKE radio in Atlanta. He was the soundtrack of my life, and I became a devoted fan following his Oscar win for "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid nine years later. I wrote him a fan letter, not expecting to receive a response. Well, several weeks later, I received a letter from him---not a form letter, mind you, but typed and signed by him. I could not believe what I was reading. He was so kind and humble. I called myself putting away that letter for safekeeping, but ended up losing it when I moved with my parents across town. I looked everywhere for it, but to no avail. I don't know what happened to it, but I will always cherish its memory.

Toda una plétora de grandes melodías en legar tan prolijo compositor, como fue Burt Bacharach.
This is totally awesome
Mr Ferrari! Please do a third play list of Mr. Bacharach’s songs! I love when he sings!❤😊
Burt Bacharach and Hal David gave us many songs of their era for us to enjoy forever, and we thank them for that!
00:2:01: The Bell that couldn't jingle :)
The glorious music just keeps coming and coming. Never will be another. Burt, you're the best!
Burt says: Reach out for me.
love niki

28:00 Wow... listen to this fiddle jig. Ahhh Heavenly...
Thanks for remarking. It is the arrangement thar makes these compositions unique !!

DESCANSE EM PAZ.. LINDAS MELODIAS....
Magical !
songs are marvellous
Grande, grande, grande.
Fantastic
Thank You Bruno!!
