Short and sweet. Glad SM is offering less expensive models. But l do prefer the Seestern’s version. Also, this exact design was used by literally half a dozen brands back in the 60’s and 70’s so I don’t feel too bad about it being a Homage. Not that I felt all that bad before. Thanks!

I like this version better without applied indices. Appropriately vintage. Love the plain caseback 🎉Even better with a matte bezel insert.
Wonderful review. I actually like the micro adjust clasp- the on the fly clasp is much longer. I would love to see drilled lugs too! Cheers mate.

Nice watch, especially at that price. Seems like a good daily beater. My favorite San Martin at the $150ish price point is the SN0033-G2. I have the "wine" colored dial on the bracelet, and it's excellent for the price (buy it during the sales; these usually go for around $150)!! My only gripe is that the clasp only has 2 micro-adjustments (they went with a smaller clasp to fit the retro aesthetic).
That’s a killer price! They make a 37mm version of this with a better movement and on the fly clasp as well but it’s more expensive.

The numerals are awesome, and I dig the utilitarian handset. I also thought it looked like the Wolbrook Skindiver, just chunkier.
the Wolbrook is bigger, actually. But it has an aluminium bezel which is just a touch nicer (and no date)

Glad you did this…I saw this watch the other day and was shocked SM did an auto under $200. Looks great on the tropic…hopefully SM will start offering more affordable options. Like your mom, they are popular…great video
Unlike my mum, somewhat affordable! I think they've got a new design on a tropic coming out too, might be worth having a look at. Probably a bit more than $200, mind, cos it's a GMT

Sorry, Simon - I did single out your mother and you'd have to ask her about why... 😂 A lot of people reporting QC issues lately. I haven't had this problem and still think, especially during sales and at this kind of price, it's worth a punt!

Looks good for the price
It's a nice watch and it's well priced no doubt. It's a classic skin diver case shape and San Martin are using it for 62MAS and SeaQ homages likewise. Mate, if you can pass on feedback to San Martin than tell them on this particular watch a date window at 3 o'clock wouldn’t hurt. For this and other dateless version it's time they start embracing the proper non-ghost-position NH38 movement.

Seestern’s had a date which is why I prefer it over the SM. I’m one of those weird “Date Only” guys.

I love San Martin watches, but they’ve had some real QC issues lately. Hopefully they get right again.
The real problem with San Martin, the straps are too short for normal wrists, and you can not order extra links, they send you two with the watch, that is all, you will need three, unless you are a Hobbit... Great watches though, besides that, I have one myself..
These styles I’m always afraid are going to look big on me, and I have an 8 inch wrist.

Glashütte in not pronounced /glaeshuette/ but /glaes huette/, the sh should not become one sibilant sound but two separate ones (sharp 's' and aspirated 'h')
Ill wear it to work until it turns to dust at that price
No date gets a massive thumbs up from me. Very few watches look good with a date.

Did think Wolbrook, didn't know that was a homage so well done SM. Looks nice. Would like to see them add some tweaks to the designs to make them better so it's inspired by. They make great matches, got a few myself. Generally, want more white dials from SM

Drilled lug holes would be fine.
SM doing what theyre doing the best. Taking an existing case and bracelet and changing the dial. Its the same case on the 62 mas. isnt it???
And ofc once more, not using the proper movement.
I honestly believe their best models are their original designs.
the new GMT's omg eye candy! i want a 40mm diver date at 6 or no date with proper movement. with the GMT's originality and colors. I dont need a GMT nor do i own one.

I think you're right, mate - in fact, I have a bit of footage of it next to my 62MAS and they do both have those sloped downtuned lugs. Nice! They've got some new GMT designs which look really nice. Hoping to get a look at them at some point!

Based on my analytics, though, the majority of my subscribers use dollars, and the second biggest group use pounds. Obviously I’d like to accommodate everybody but I think the two biggest currencies my audience use as a general rule is fine. Nowadays the pound and the euro are basically the same anyways! 😅🤣
i bought this watch after seeing this video
1. looking at the watch "in person" - meh! nothing special - where online looks better
2. metal bracelet is way to chunky for this watch - change to leather strap then look ok

I respectfully disagree - I think for the money, you’ll struggle to find a better finished watch. When I made this it was about £130 on a bracelet! The tolerances are solid, it has solid endlinks, movement working well, milled clasp, screw pins, perfectly good bezel. I’m really sorry it wasn’t as good as you’d hoped but I think the same money on most other watches and the SM would come out on top! 🤞🏻👍🏻
