- Do you wish your hair was longer? The awkward phase is easy to get out of when you are ready to go shorter, but when you are trying to grow it out...it gets more complicated.
beautiful lady! Wishing you a very merry christmas with your family!🎄🎄🎄
Thank You Merry Christmas
Tips for anyone stuck at any length 1. Clarifying the hair and scalp, 2. Deep conditioning at least twice a month( with heat), 3. Use better quality shampoos and conditioner, 4. Use higher quality oils( argan, macadamia, avocado oils), 5. Oil treatments that contain rosemary, tea tree, pumpkin) also Stop The DIYs!!! When I stopped experimenting with all these different butter and oil concoctions I noticed a huge difference in length retention I’m now boob length straight and shoulder length curly dried
my hair has been at the “awkward” length for 10 YEARS whole time I’ve been natural! I’ve had locs now for a year and I can’t wait to have armpit length hair. It’ll be the first time ever.
Thank you for sharing ❤️. I love loc journeys...locs are so pretty to me
Whew I've been at an awkward length since forever. This video hits my soul. I just know that if I want length I'll have to add it, cuz it ain't growing that way lol. Anyway thanks for sharing your journey. Here's to getting to your chin length bob in no time!
Thank you...and thanks for sharing ❤️
I feel you on the‘awkward’ length but then I think about detangling longer hair…sis I realize that I’m good right here 😩😂🤣☝🏽
Yes detangling and longer dry times...I'm like 🤔 how much hair do I really want
You look beautiful Sis! I can see the change and growth in your hair. I feel you. I have been the same length for 2 years. Even a year after the 30 day hair detox. I'm following you and supporting you
Thank you for your support❤️
This was so relatable. And what’s amazing is, when I walk through all the years I’ve been alive, my hair never stopped growing. But my hair practices have not supported my goals. Not being consistent, mishandling my hair, and not knowing my hair porosity and density. So, this year, I am trying to be super consistent because you and me both CLEARLY could be rapunzels lol .
But, henna I’m learning is drying to hair. Even the Indian, Pakistani women struggle with this dryness. There’s a young lady here on UA-cam who just cut all her hair off (or at least that’s what her stylist recommended) because the henna hair was holding her progress back.
Sounds like you have a good plan, though. Don’t be discouraged. We simply have to be disciplined and diligent about what we’re doing to our hair on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
At the same time, like you said, embracing where you are, accepting the reality, and having fun with it!
Happy new year!
Thanks, I COMPLETELY identify , I've been natural over 10 yrs since BC, my hair is only ear length. Recently decided SO WHAT! Will just be satisfied with healthy, I clip ends quarterly, wash, DC, W&G weekly then twist most nights. Some people just DON'T have long hair. ACCEPTANCE & GRATITUDE is the best ATTITUDE.
Thanks for sharing such a sensitive topic. I’ve had the same experience with my hair not hanging down my back despite being natural for about 10 years.
I’m also doing the same thing of fully facing my hair this time around. No extension protective styles. Fully leaning into showing off my awkward length hair and embracing the shrinkage. I let go of sleek puffs and ponytails too because those have led to breakage as well. I’m praying this time around with the new knowledge I’ve gained and being consistent and low maintenance I’ll get the hair of my dreams.
I can definitely see that your hair has improved greatly and i notice some length retention. I’m sure you’ll get there quicker this time around.
Thank you for sharing ❤️
Your honesty is so beautiful 😭😭😭😭 I can relate to you so much. I've never been someone with super long hair. From what you said about your journey being documented (the pressure) to your experience you are having with growing out henna (you can thug it out, message me if you ever need a cheer leader). You are not alone and you are doing amazing. We WILL meet and exceed our goals and get over these last little humps. Seriously this video is so encouraging.
Thank you Fo❤️ your honesty about your journey helped me start mine
@@Untwisted_hair I'm so grateful it did
I think your hair is looking great! I have the same issue my hair is just taking its time to grow. Hang in there, this is a marathon😍
Thank You ♥ Definitely a marathon ...patience and consistent
Girl! All of this. I'm starting yet another hair growth challenge (for the umpteenth time). Like others have said, I find you so relatable which is why I started following you a while back. Feel like we are hair twins in every way. Appreciate your transparency and will continue to champion and support you.
Thank you❤️
The only time my hair touches my shoulders is when it's in the shower lol
I wonder if you continued doing everything your doing now, but only changing getting a curly cut and actually blow drying it or straighten it out every 6 months and getting a cut in that state will help with the growth and holes and shape etc. I've seen a lot of videos of the cons of curly cuts especially dry cuts etc. Just something to look into . Personally I am natural and only straighten my hair 2 a year for a trim and I believe it has more benefits. But at least reaserch why dry curly cuts are not helpful even stylist who are certified in dry diva cuts and wet qouidad cuts share this concern. I believe this is the last piece to this puzzle that will help get to your goals truly.
Mimi, I should have listened to you. I had been doing the 30 day detox, no oils/butters for about 8 months when I put that doggone henna in my hair. My curls were poppin’ with just water and it felt wonderful. As soon as I did that henna it was over.
Aww I'm sorry ...
So Happy to see you again😃I believe your a inspiration for many of us so thank you for this video. I see a big difference in the health of your hair It has not been to long ago that you started this journey I have faith you will reach your goals
Thank you❤️
Your hair looks so much healthier than in the original video that you posted.👏 It is actually a lot longer as well.🥰 Based on the progress you have already achieved from the start of the detox until now trust and believe you will achieve your goal of a chin or shoulder-length bob. Just imagine where you would be now if you were doing the detox and didn't have to grow out henna or fill in holes. Your maintenance cuts would not have needed to be as much and you would already be at the chin-length bob. All you need is to continue taking good care of your hair and for time to pass.💜
To me the awkward length was a bit shorter, right after you grow out of the twa but before you can really gather your hair up in one. Either way it can be an annoying stage. You’re right tho, it’s definitely more awkward in our minds than others! 😂 being able to look back at pictures (or videos in your case) can be helpful to see the progress
I feel like I am transitioning out of my awkward length, too 😅
I have a similar hair goal which is curly shoulder length. You’re right it’s really just a matter of taking care of your hair and sticking with your hair’s wash cycle
Thank you for sharing ❤️
First I've heard about awkward length being to long. I think there needs to be another name for that situation because they could actually do something about it 😂.
I appreciate your honesty...💜TFS
❤️
I stopped using heat as much and my relax hair GREW!! My issue with my natural hair was mechanical damage. I have a lot of hair and the “gentle” detangling required took too dang long.
Thank you for sharing ♥♥ I feel ya on the "gentle dentangling" my fingers would cramp and my hair would still be tangled lol
@@Untwisted_hair I loc’d my hair. Greatest decision I ever made.
Great video!!
Thank you❤️
I would like to have more density. I’ve never relaxed my hair and I have been increasing the foods that benefit healthy hair and it’s mid back length
Thank you for sharing ♥
I dont think wash and go's are that good for length retention but your hair is very pretty regardless of length🌸
Thank you ❤️
