There were 26 pages to Solanin: An Epilogue, and taking into account an extra 2 pages for the cover, and maybe one or two more for advertising (so let's say 30 pages), you get a total of just over $9 PER PAGE. If we don't take into account the extra stuff like the cover and the adverts, you'd be paying just over $10.57 PER PAGE.
edit: At the time of writing, there is another eBay listing for the epilogue going for $299.95, which is frankly insane.
I actually have the holographic cover versions of YuYu Hakusho volume 1 and Shaman King volume 1. I found them years ago at Half-Price Books for about $4.95 each. They are definitely some treasured pieces of my collection.

My biggest flex (lol but truly one of my most prized series) is having all of boys over flowers in my collection. Cost me a pretty penny even with looking for the best deals possible but as a long-time shojou fanatic was definitely worth it!

I Have Boys over Flowers complete but in French (my country Belgium is bilingual Dutch/ French) and I bought them in the past while they came out in French without any issues at all. I did not know it is so expensive now so I am super happy as a Shoujo fan that I did not give them away at a certain moment in time :)

I was curious about something, Other than the Five Star Stories volumes, are you buying any of the single issue comic formatted manga titles? Whenever I go to comic shops, I always check the Quarter Bins and look for any manga I can find; which was how I was finding all of the issues of Kamui, Mai The Psychic Girl, Area 88, Lone Wolf & Cub, Blade of the Immortal, Ranma 1/2, Fist of the North Star, Sanctuary, Crying Freeman, Ghost in the Shell, Oh My Goddess, and Appleseed. I also have all of the Akira and Sailor Moon issues, but they're a lot more expensive. unless you find them at a good deal. I also look out for any books published by Eastern & Jademan, which are the Hong Kong Manhua titles.

Can confirm trying to collect OOP / OOS manga is a commitment and a treasure hunt. Since publishers were hit hard during the pandemic a LOT of series have been chopped or put on the back burner in terms of reprints and restocks. Series that otherwise wouldn't be OOP until much later became OOP almost immediately in the course of the shutdowns. You CAN find these volumes out in the wild but you gotta be willing to put quality above quantity. Since you can find a volume of a OOP manga but it looks like it's been sun bleached or put through a storm with damaged pages. If you want the series to both own and collect, you gotta make sure it meets YOUR standards. For me that means at least minimal cover damage (slight damage is OK, but not preferred), no markings inside, no missing pages, and it has to be adequately priced for how many volumes are being sold together or individually. The benefit of buying OOP manga is being able to take an actual break from social media or manga websites to enjoy your own manga series off the internet and at your own pace without distractions.
I have 19/27 volumes of Iron Wok Jan. I’ve been accumulating volumes when I can over the last year and a half and it’s definitely a brutal ride
Luckily my local Newbury comics restocked all of Yu Yu hakusho

9:15 I really like Saint Seiya, and it is very popular here in Brazil, and it has three different editions, all with crucial volumes out of print. It is a series I would really like to add to my collection.

One piece does have a gold foil edition manga for 1-23. And like someone else commented during that same time one piece, yu-gi-oh, and dragon ball also had a numbered limited edition Holographic vol 1 manga just like yu yu hakusho
Yeah it’s crazy how much some of these volumes go for- I hope I never want to collect anything extremely expensive because I don’t think my cheapskate heart could take it. Right now I’m trying to collect some Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and xxxHolic volumes I’m missing and those prices make me wince and they’re not NEARLY as bad as these.

Speaking of expensive ass manga volumes, I am trying to get volumes 8,9, and 10 of Honey and Clover. I think they made less copies of these volumes so minimum for each one is like $110. Don’t even get me started on trying to complete my rave master set 😅

DN Angel is the only OOP manga I have and frankly finishing the collection was so annoying I swiped volume 12 for 30 bucks which was still a ripping deal. Did I over pay probably, but I finally have a complete collection in English

My most expensive purchase so far was the final Volume of SGT Frog in English (Vol. 21) which was £40 the Seller said the most he had it seen it go for was £65 but we managed to work something out 😁 Been collecting & reading the Series since 2007/08 & just missing Vol. 20 which is pretty hard to find within the UK... I'd rather not pay a lot of money for it to get it shipped from the US
A five below near me actually had 3 volumes of volume 21 of sgt frog, I really knew nothing about the series but picked one up since it looked cool and was only $5. I guess i got pretty lucky ^^

Shojo has a lot of pricey older manga now days because they did not make a lot of copies since they didn't have a lot of buyers back in the day.

Bokurano Volume 3 was a big gatekeeper for getting a full collection of the series but I think the whole series is hard to find at this point.

Bro yu yu Hakusho volume 1 is not that expensive what you looked at was the special Halo cover limited edition which all popular Shonen Jump Comics had during that time meaning Dragon Ball had a special Halo cover Yu-Gi-Oh had a special Halo cover and even one piece had a special Halo cover these are all limited edition up to 5,000 prints each one numbered
