I have a Sony that has a hum when you try to play a cassette.
My late father has an AIWA with detachable speakers at his home that also does the exact same thing. Hums when you push play on the cassette.

Thank you. I didn't see the screws under the handle. Those arrows are helpful till they're not.

I had a cfd-6 and replaced belt it’s playing slow do you know why

The belt may be either too thin or loose or both. If it is the proper size, then I'd imagine there is a pully cog wheel that needs to be replaced. They physically get smaller after time due to friction.

So the only thing I didn't hear you mention when you switched the belts is what size of belt(s) did you actually use??

I dont remember now, but I do remember they were the wrong width. All I had was an assortment of belts from Amazon. If you search the model number or check out a specialty website dedicated to replacement belts, you should be able to find a kit or at least the right size belts.

The date on the batteries is the use-by date. Sometimes you can get away with batteries that are still good long after the use-by date has passed, but they probably won't last as long as new batteries. And since they have a shelf life of about 12 years, thereabouts, those batteries could have been purchased when the boombox was quite new. Also, just to let you know, there's always the risk of battery leakage, so it's never a good idea to leave batteries in the compartment for a long time. The good news is that Energizer Lithium batteries will NEVER leak! They have an entirely different chemistry that keeps them from ever leaking. Of course they are more expensive, but they will last in storage for 20 years, at least. And they'll power something a lot longer than alkaline batteries will. Put AA and AAA lithium batteries in your TV remote control and they should last the life of your TV set. They're noticeably lighter too.

I dont remember why I didn't show it. It has to be super evident and self explanatory if I didn't show it. Maybe I can pull it out tonight and do a quick video on how to change the belts.👍
