A run out on my old 1981 BMW R100RS.

  • Never been run since 1995, this year I've got it back on the road. It's not a looker, surface rust, faded paint etc, but it's a runner.
I'm still not having much luck making videos with this bike, I tried the helmet camera this time, the camera was set too high and missed having any of the bike in shot, I'd really like the handlebars and clocks in shot.. maybe next time.

Hello Tall-Guy. Jim from "Course You Can" here. I like your video a nice run on a good bike. These old BMW's will go on forever if looked after. I suspect your bike is in better condition than mine.
In this video you speak about your camera mount, your not very happy with the camera position. Have you tried the camera mount that fits in the centre of your chest, it has straps that go round your body and over your shoulders. The field of view is quite low but you can easily get the clocks in frame and the road, it also doesn't bounce around if you hit a bump. There is some video where I'm using this mount in part 6 of my Air Head Service videos. This was the first time I had used it, the field of view is set a little too low (too much petrol tank) but I didn't realise that until I saw it on my screen during editing, by that time it was raining and too late to go out to reshoot. Camera on the mount "Gopro 7 Black". Thank you for your comment on my channel. I wish you many views and subscribers on yours. Take Care Jim

Hi Jim, thanks for your reply. I have actually used a chest mount on one of my other videos, problem is the stance of the RS is a rather throw you forward position, which is also puts weight on your wrists. The camera was on a 4" extension and tilted as far back as I could get it but still not high enough to get a view over the windscreen. It made an interesting video as you could see me operate the bike, but at the same time no good view of where I was riding. The video is here..

I'm hoping my next video will be better, helmet mount and my GoPro with wide angle lens, fingers crossed. 🙂
