Aww man what a bummer.. I really thought JT absolutely killed that duel, so much variety and the tones my God especially the clean with that bit of reverb or chorus perhaps? Was absolutely beautiful. I really don't understand that decision. No disrespect to the winner in any way. Keep the dream alive dudes! \M/
Ditto all the way with this. My jaw just dropped when I saw 2 votes for Adam over JT. Just... WHAT?! Adam played great, but JT destroyed, man. I'm at a loss.
Almost more impressive/appreciable than the musicianship here, almost, is how humble these guys are. All of them seem like they would be cool people to hang out with.
Yeah i agree. JT did amazing. That was the best i've heard on here from both seasons. He had a more classic metal vibe which i love than the more modern approach.
Russel Keith Totally, they also spent more time tweaking their tone and playing to what the judges told them to improve upon. Gotta love watching the playing evolve episode to episode!
Have Banger remixed this episode? Sounds better now than the episodes before. Sighs with relief ;) Regarding their perfomances I think they did much better than in round one. Cheers.
No remix, just evident that both players took tweaking their tone as a priority in this round as per the judges comment in previous performances. Glad you dug it! Was a great battle today, see you tomorrow!
I continued to adjust my tone and it was starting to come around. If I ever compete again, I'm only doing it if I can use my rig. Other cabs are fine though.
That JT definitely had some killer riffs. I was wondering what he would do next and that reminds me of what I feeling from Dimebag Darrell when I discovered him with the Cowboys from hell video premier. I was on the tip of my chair waiting for what he would do next .
I'm genuinely amazed how I havent agreed with a single round so far lmao JT was so much original and musical than Adam, but I really like how he made his second riff evolve. But thats it, the rest was power chords and running up and down the same scales.
worgegramsci105 At least when you don’t agree with the decision you get a surprise at the end when the judges reveal haha Cheers and thanks for hanging for all the episodes so far!
Personally, JT's composition was more interesting but this is 'Shredders of Metal' and I don't want to discredit the importance of songwriting but that does make it viable to argue that simply writing the more interesting composition doesn't necessarily make him the better fit. The piece was really inconsistent. It was tight and melodically engaging whenever he was doing his rhythm work, but as soon as he jumped into the licks it felt like a different player altogether and all of that precision just disappeared. It showcased his songwriting skills which I absolutely think are 100% more valuable as a whole, but this series is about lead talent and he didn't exactly make himself look good. Adam had some really cool ideas sprinkled into his piece but more importantly it was consistent. There was a sloppy point or two when he started to get more lead-oriented, for sure, but the majority of it was significantly tighter than Jt's. I think they made the right call on this one, but I do agree that his composition was more interesting as a whole.
Finally a very interesting play off that really focus on song composition and what each player are able to do creativly. Instead of just mindless shred with no regards for the background. This was much more enjoyable. JT had a bit more tricks up his sleeve and a better sound in general in my opinion. Still they both did much better than their previous efforts so now I'm looking forward to the next semi and the final. I almost started to lose hope with the previous rounds. Faith restored!!!
Next year let the viewers have a vote in this, we obviously have a different opinion looking at these comments. Maybe put up the audio, no name, or info, let us vote, then months later when you put up these episodes, we see who our vote went towards.
Damn, this challenge really allowed them to shine. They both rocked and would have both deserved to get to the next round. I personally would have given my vote to JT. I'd love to hear his composition as a properly recorded studio version. Definitely the best episode so far!
JT WAS ROBBED seems to be the consensus. How about the fans vote next time? Some nice runs by Adam but kinda boring and typical. JT first to bring a sweet sounding clean section, hit open harmonic notes while strumming, create gorgeous atmosphere with feel. Adam a tad cleaner yet dull. JT's tone was alive unlike Adam's muffled mud. Slight influences of Randy, Dream Theater, Pantera helped. That finish with the dive bomb was again unexpected and awesome. Did you see Adam's huge exhale after the judges decision...even he thought he lost. Overall, amazing composition, the most interesting player so far. Keep Rockin' JT !
Another solid battle! Each so differently approached the track. JT, balls to the wall, but Adam had a great build up to an all out shredfest! More videos like this, Banger
@@HEAVENSFIREOfficial wow just watched one of your videos and its pretty amazing, what a great singer. The song sounds like the latest Accept album but actually... Better? I dont know, Will have it spinning on my playlist
I am gonna agree with some here..this the best both of these guys have played so far.. So definite killer riffage had by both players! Nice work dudes!
As much as i liked JT's stuff, Adams was a clear winner for me, his transitions for the most part were beautifully articulated and some of those less heard and played techniques were killer, especially that time signature change with the drums was on point.
@@BangerTV haha I love being able to interact with Sam dunn. I live in a town in the middle of no where and I've seen his movies literally hundreds of times. I'd love to see an interview with Paul Waggoner from btbam.
I'm definitely on team Adam. The only negative I have for him is that it didn't feel like one cohesive song, but rather a bunch of really rad riffs. Regardless, they both came out swinging and made for probably the best episode of the season so far.
JT's clean bridge was amazing. Gave me Dream Theater vibes. Was so much range in JT's composition. Loved it, I felt that Adam's song was 'cleaner' but it was overall reallllly close.
I was rooting for JT, but they both did a fantastic job of shreddage. This show is so much fun at the end of a long and painful week for me. Thanks, now on to the drinkin'!
Really good round. JT had an amazing composition and I actually preferred it, but that time signature change section was way more creative from Adam and that was a really tough and risky decision and he pulled it off amaizng, so I can agree with the judges on this one.
Actually he didn't pull it off. He stopped in the middle and claimed the backing track was wrong at that same part you're talking about. He was then allowed to a do over which no other guitarist got. At minimum, he should have been penalized as many of the shredders would have loved a do over.
Seems like im in the minority, but i really thought Adam did a better job and deserved the win. JT didn't do anything wrong, but Adam's piece had more musical "moments" that were memorable, and i think his playing was cleaner and more interesting.
My two favorite in the competition, I think. I may be a bit biased toward Adam, though, as I really like the band Mortor that he plays in. After watching, I think JT did better, actually. Both were amazing, though! I may have to grab the audio from this.
Awesome round, guys.... Both dudes killed it. I personally enjoyed Adams composition. I feel JT had the technical edge but I feel like the creativity is what got Adam through.
JT was superb..his maturity shows in his adventurous composition&shredding..maybe Adam was a bit technically capable.Welldone to both of them regardless..awesome!!
HEY BANGER! I really love this season 2, I have a little constructive criticism for you, as a fan: you gotta milk those "split decisions" a little more instead of showing all the boards at the same time! In MMA for example, they go judge by judge and if there's a split, they make sure to, for example announce JT getting the first nod and then ADAM getting the nod from the second judge... It heightens the suspense so much, it's the little things that could make your show even more awesome! By the way, this episode in particular could have really used that "split decision presentation" because that was the closest duel so far, in my opinion, it would have been nail biting! I'd have been lost if I had to choose a winner on the fly right after hearing it. I still need at least 3 hours to figure out who I think won here!
Tom Tanaka Thanks for the input! Love the MMA style and perhaps that’s something we can look at next year. There’s lots of behind the scenes factors to take into account including time constraints with editing and filming. But thanks so much for tuning in and being so passionate about Shredders with us!
ahhh this series is great..interesting that both guys went straight to amp (mostly)...I think they both could have benefitted from some reverb at the least...are there rules that I'm missing?..only one foot pedal allowed or something?...if not, I'd be kicking in some fx fo sho..!!!.....dreaming of an all star edition..with the legends of the sport!!!...thanx great episode!!!!

Damn idk I’d pick Jt. But Adams time change was sick. They both killed it and the sound was so much better this video then previous ones.
emdoubz Thanks man! I think everyone will agree the tones dialed in for this round were a great improvement!
So cool they got Hagrid's brother on the show.
Jesse Kangas Potter references FTW
FANTASTC, the mix sounds like it's coming through better great job you guys! Bravo.
kaiden smukler Thanks so much! Hails!

I really don't understand that decision.

Almost more impressive/appreciable than the musicianship here, almost, is how humble these guys are. All of them seem like they would be cool people to hang out with.
That's metal for you.
Isaiah Perry Truly a very warm and family like vibe on set. As you see Blayne couldn’t get anyone to talk shit on eachother!
Personally it thought Jt did way better than Adam
same here, his composition was more fluid and he played in such a smooth way
I liked Jt better too. Got bored during Adam's turn
Adam is more metal as sound and rhythm, Jt is more on the experimental way . Prefer adam sounds true metal
Lol you Dreamtheatre fans make me laugh
Yeah i agree. JT did amazing. That was the best i've heard on here from both seasons. He had a more classic metal vibe which i love than the more modern approach.
Both gentlemen played better compared to their performance on the first round

No remix, just evident that both players took tweaking their tone as a priority in this round as per the judges comment in previous performances. Glad you dug it! Was a great battle today, see you tomorrow!
I would also think in this round they had time to create and practice when in the first round they had to improvise.
I continued to adjust my tone and it was starting to come around. If I ever compete again, I'm only doing it if I can use my rig. Other cabs are fine though.
ok JT's composition sound like something Pantera would compose
didnt hear it the first time through but oh yeah pantera big time still pretty killer though
Fane Guitar Covers Good ear!
i thought it was a tweaked van halen tune at first
That JT definitely had some killer riffs. I was wondering what he would do next and that reminds me of what I feeling from Dimebag Darrell when I discovered him with the Cowboys from hell video premier. I was on the tip of my chair waiting for what he would do next .

Jorgen Henriksen Glad we got you back! Was pretty pleased with the way this challenge turned out!
I have no idea what’s going on without Blayne’s Guide to Shredding.
Mark Bonafede Damn! Get Blayne a scotch ASAP!

Gmork Super interesting concept...perhaps a fan favorite battle round?
I prefer the opinions of the pros over the comment bros, personally.
It is very tough to decide but I would go with JT at leas for variety in his composition.
Indeed, loved his clean tones! Anyone that's going to do that in the next ep will not be as original as JT. He saw the opportunity and he took it!
Seriously!?? JT got cut!?? Wow the guy with better tech skills and writing skills!!?
Alex...wtf man.

Mal Gus You’re not the first person to request that - perhaps something we will look into for the future!
Loving this show guys, very nice level of shredding! Cheers from Spain!
Thanks for watching! Cheers from Canada!
this season is going fast we better get another season by the end of the year! lol keep it going guys! 👏🏼
Mak Sulit Haha wishful thinking but we appreciate the enthusiasm! Thanks for tuning in, catch ya tomorrow!
We could use a drum off as well
Like the judges said, they were both killer. I liked JT’s better, that clean part was very cool.
Thank you for sorting out the sound!
This is the best challenge so far, it really allows them to show their strengths and creativity, loved the episode.
We thought you guys would enjoy the new challenge format. Thanks for tuning in!

Jt had more fusion. I think he did way better than Adam.
Hussain Murtaza Totally a great blend of styles coming from JT
Adam, of course sounded really tight. His legato runs were very clear.
This is so great. I love how you guys put one of these a day. I look forward to them. This one was a close match.
I really like JT but bravo to both. Very well done!
Orangeokie7 Two very talented players
Awesome match and inprovement of the sound by Banger! This is a tough choice, but in the end there can only be one winner.
skbche We wish both could advance but alas...there can only be one victorious shredder!
That was so much better! Redemption has been made loved it
Both were fantastic, but Adam slayed.. I loved the groove riffs and the lead playing was super cohesive.
Jack Thunder Really was a strong composition - totally agree!
i LOVED that these guys got to compose a full piece! So good! This was an excellent watch!
Lucas McArthur We thought y’all would dig this challenge! Cheers!
I think jt was better but both of them are good
bora yeşilyaprak Two super talented players
Anybody ever notice the older Sam Dunn gets. The more he looks like Geddy Lee.
Don Karnage must be a bass player thing! haha
JT all the way!!!! And that's no disrespect to Adam. He was good too.
Judges choose well !
Not sure what I just watched..!? To Me JT killed it!
Another solid battle! Each so differently approached the track. JT, balls to the wall, but Adam had a great build up to an all out shredfest! More videos like this, Banger
JT's song gave me chills. Amazing ideas and equally amazing execution, and that undistorted section really took it to new heights.
WOW!! Excellent episode, I love the original songs. A great spotlight for two great players.
Man, if JT has a band or a project, i need to know the name. What a nice composition

I thought the clean tone was like a breath of fresh air. JT won in my book.
FunctionONE He owned that clean tone big time!

That's it guys. Good sound, good compositions and good responses in the comments from BANGER, real good sport from you guys, cheers for that!
Thornanne Thank YOU. Comments like these help everyone to remember why we do this in the first place. Cheers!!!

Who's playing the drums?
As much as i liked JT's stuff, Adams was a clear winner for me, his transitions for the most part were beautifully articulated and some of those less heard and played techniques were killer, especially that time signature change with the drums was on point.
Really happy to hear some riffs. I also liked that the backing track had some tempo changes.
Adam had the better and more cohesive song and JT had more noodle shred. Adam for the win!
I've been waiting forever for this!
