great thanks for these tests! What settings would you use with an i5-13600KF / 64Gb DDR4 / RTX 4070ti with 1440P resolution. My CPU is sometimes used as much as my graphics card. I disabled hyperthreading in bios and enabled xmp 3200 profile for my ram. Thanks again :)
Thanks for checking it out! I disabled HyperThreading in bios just for this video but you don't have to, you can use a program that's called Process Lasso. With Process Lasso you can disable Hyperthreading and the E-cores just for the esacapfromtarkov.exe, this way you can still use HyperThreading for other tasks/games. There are allot of tutorial videos out there on how to setup Process Lasso for Tarkov. Even though this game is CPU depended, the game still won't use allot in terms of %'s. Tarkov often uses 1 core at 90% and the others maybe around 30%, this is normal for Tarkov. As for settings: (it depends on what your goal is, high fps or looks? these are a mix off both i'd recommend) medium (Textures on high will use allot of VRAM (graphics card memory)) medium (Shadows on high is also fine) 2.5 (LOD 3 is the max you need, realistically 2.5 is enough) 1000 (visibility on 1500 if you like long distance sniping) TAA (TAA high not much of a difference, can pick either to be honest) 1x off (leave this on 1x at all times) off (DLSS can be worth it if your GPU is maxed out, should not be needed) off (FSR2.2 is better) off (FSR 2.2 same logic as DLSS) max performance (HBAO higher = more detgailed shadows around objects) low (SSR fancy reflections for water puddles for example) on (anisotropic filtering, Loads textures at longer distances, turn this OFF if you don't mind seeing textures loading in constantly) on (Reflex works again as intended, it's just worth using without much performance loss) 1 (Sharpness personal preference) chechboxes below: grass shadows (grass shadows helps you spot people better) I would use these settings as a base line, if you feel like the game runs smooth enough you can sacrifice fps for better visuals.
@@wildgg thank you very much for this precise answer. I've tried these sort of basic settings though, but I still feel like my CPU is working a lot harder than my GPU and I'm experiencing lag in the game. In addition to hypertheading I've also disabled the E-core but I don't really see any difference. Would it be better for me to upgrade to DDR5 coupled with my i5-13600KF or replace the latter with a better CPU? see you next time ! bb
@@guillaumecouet1294 if you up the following settings you should see high GPU usage: textures, shadows, hbao, ssr. 13600kf should be fine for Tarkov, I don't think it's worth going for ddr5 since you already have a ddr4 motherboard. what kind of drive is your game installed on and how much space does it have left? I see you have 64gb of ram, if this is used in a 4x16 config it might be worth trying to run just 2 sticks of 16gb in slot 2 and 4(from left to right) on your motherboard.
I have a 13600kf, 64gb DDR5, and 7800xt (16gb). I have LOD at 3, Visibility at 1500, TAA High, FSRs off, HBAO on High, Anisotropic filtering to per texture, and sharpness at 0.8/0.9. My usage is typically GPU @90s%, CPU is typically 20-40%, and I use Project Lasso to require high priority to EFT and hyperthreading off for EFT. My FPS ranges between 130s on woods/factory,etc. and 100s on Streets. I have overclocking off for both my ram and CPU. I had instability issues when I overclocked either. But my DDR5 RAM’s base speed is 4000 transfers per second, so roughly equals the DDR4 when overclocked.
Sadly I can not, I have a DDR4 based motherboard and run DDR4 4000. With that said testing RAM speeds in the same spot AND same server will not be possible to get good results unless it's performed in Offline mode. Why?: CPU clock speeds can be changed on the fly with software, with RAM this won't work as it will crash the system. I will look into comparing DDR4 speeds but I need to find a good test baseline, I might perform this in arena as it's more consistant and you can compare arena results to the main game of Tarkov. EDIT: with comparing results between arena and the main game I mean the scaling of RAM speeds.

This game is pretty much CPU limited at all times but I'd say 50% usage isn't terrible, most games will not come close to 100%. GPU usage does go up quite a bit depending on the map. A thing to consider here is the settings I picked for this test, I went with low settings and DLSS to make it more CPU bound. Having a clean pc with no bloatware programs that claim to speed up your pc goes a long way. Most people that have these fps issues probably running a windows install from 5 years ago. I checked out your video, well done! If i may suggest 1 thing, when ever you go show fps on streets try to run through the area 'lexos' or likein this video @0:30 in the 'tarbank' building looking at lexos,. the area within lexos is in my experience the lowest fps you will see on streets.
great clear video thanks
i downcloacked my 14700k to 5 ghz, much better temps and powerdraw, i nearly get same s 5.6ghz. i'm happy
its why channels like optimum recommend undervolting
also why i said oc is dead now
You think I could get away with 5.2 while still maintaining a reasonable power draw? I only have a 750W Psu
