Streets of Tarkov 4K - 9800X3D + 4080 Super
4K gameplay on Streets of Tarkov with 4 different quality presets. Per request, we are comparing low vs medium vs high. I also added the Balanced preset in there as those are my personal recommended settings for daily use when using 4K resolution with these specs for a balance of visuals and performance.

Overclocking the 9800X3D worth your time for Escape from Tarkov?

AMD's Ryzen 9800X3D is the best CPU for Escape from tarkov. Today we're checking out if overclocking or undervolting is worth your time. Tests were done in offline streets without AI. CPU bound testing is very inconsistent in EFT so offline without AI is the most consistent out of all the options. My CPU is not the greatest overclocker so this is the max speed it could do with being fully stabl...

im gonna build this exact pc lol
could you do other maps?
Great video btw just what i was looking for :3
I would lock fps at 120 or something, only me?
situational I'd say. I stopped using Gsync and have a 240Hz monitor now, so I'll take every frame I can get.
@@wildgg Valid, i have a pc on the way with the same specs but my "fps game" screen is 165hz
do you use project lasso or any program like that to just select physical cores?
I do not
@@wildgg thanks for the response, also do you use g-sync in nvidia app?
@@andreirus9187 G-sync was not enabled during the recording of this video. Personally I've stopped using G-sync since using a new oled monitor.
@@wildgg from your experience do you think it's a good idea to use it? can it affect performance? I tried using it with uncapped fps and it's feeling ok but most people are saying that u should cap fps on monitor hz -3 for the best results
@@andreirus9187 If you have a monitor with a Gsync module than you'll get the best experience from Gsync imo because without the module you probably get a bunch of flickering in bright scenes. Can it effect performance? sure but I doubt it's anything you can notice. Yes you don't want to have your frame uncapped with Gsync as Gsync only works propperly when your FPS is below the refresh rate of the monitor. For tarkov you want to force Vsync ON in the nvidia control panel for the escapefromtarkov.exe and set a fps cap below the refresh rate of the monitor. ideal FPS cap depends on the Hz of the monitor: 144hz=141fps, 165hz=161 fps, 240hz or higher i would cap it 10 frames below the Hz.
This is a shill-vid that gets mass-produced for platforms like UA-cam on the DL by brand marketing-teams for the purposes of false marketing that can't be pinned on said companies. They all do it because they get away with it. The hardware in question is not even close to these capabilities. I have the same hardware used for this vid and tuned the same way. The effect of tuning RAM and CPU like this is almost not measurable outside margin of error for highly graphically intensive games.
can u send me ur procesor pls right now
bidding starts at 1500$
Do you have a video or a solid recommendation on how to “debloat” a new system.
If you have a new system I would consider either de-bloating an ISO or downloading one and re-install windows with it. If you don't want to install windows again I would consider using the tool from the youtuber Chris Titus Tech: ua-cam.com/video/92SM8Az5QVM/v-deo.html In his tool you want to focus on the Tweaks tab, make sure to read what you're disabling. Every option has '[?]' question mark box behind it explaining what it is. His tool is free, free version is in the github link in that video description.
Indeed a complete cleanup with DDU and reinstall of the AMD Drivers fixed it for me
My 4080S can take 1400 memory oc but no where near the 2 ghz of my previous 4070ti, it could take 3ghz core and 2 ghz oc on memory.
For some reason when I run pretty much the same test and I have damn near the same pc as you, I get about 80-90 fps max on streets, just wondering if theres any ideas you have as to why that might be happening
Just to throw a few things at you for context. I have a debloated windows, overclocked cpu, tuned ram, debloated nvidia driver, i dont run any crappy programs in the back ground and then there patch 0.16 that lowered everyone's fps. keep all of those in mind. With that said you should get more than 80-90 on PvP. -Programs like icue, armoury crate, msi center, rgb related stuff can all effect performance, consider removing those. -Remove chipset driver > reboot pc > download&install latest chipset driver from AMDs site(don't use the auto detect installer). -Open CMD as admin and run these 2 commands separately: "sfc /scannow" & "DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /RestoreHealth" > reboot pc if it has found and repaired files. (dism scan tends to get stuck at 62%, it will keep going after a while) -Remove GPU drivers with DDU > reinstall drivers. (if you previously had a different brand card, run ddu for that brand as well) -Make sure you clear logs and cache in the Tarkov launcher, once a week or so at least. If none of this helped add me on discord: wildgg and maybe we can figure something out.
@@wildgg Appreciate the response man, I just built this pc and fully reinstalled windows, I have followed some other overclock guides for the 9800x3d, and have seen improvement, but I do think that I might have to do some more overclocking to try and match the performance that you're getting.
Have the same issue (9800x3d+4080 super) on streets. I get like 80-100 fps 1440p even with +200 and CO -30; -40…it ran way better before patch 0.16. @wildgg could you pls make another test/vid on Streets with the recent patch? Many thx in advance!

Guys, it's all click bait. It's server sided all the Micro stutters. Just load into PVE and you will see nothing is wrong with your pc
You must be smoking that good good.
Let me catch you on a live stream and show me your FPS then. All the high end PC's have trouble running this game, all because of server ping and bad coding. All these EFT best settings video's are purely for the clicks and you know it
@@Moendos99TTV I feel like this is just some ragebait but I'll entertain your comments. 1. "Guys, it's all click bait.": It's not clickbait as it helped many people and will continue to help people. Why? because not everything is server sided. I've seen almost in all my calls with people where their systems are not setup correctly. 2. "It's server sided all the Micro stutters.": It's simple not all server sided. Is this game perfect? no, no one will ever claim that, I certainly am not. 3. "Just load into PvE and you will see nothing is wrong with your pc": This one is a funny argument coming from you as PvE generally runs worse, especially when you're playing solo and are the host of the server, this + the extra AI makes for a worse experience for most. 4. "Let me catch you on a live stream and show me your FPS then.": I rarely live stream as I'm a casual content creator but feel free to add me on discord: 'wildgg' and I'll live stream for you, I also have unedited game play on the channel so you can go see for yourself. 5. "All the high end PC's have trouble running this game, all because of server ping and bad coding.": I have no trouble running this game and server ping is not relevant. I've played this game since 2019 and sure it has it's server issues but in general with a good connection you're fine. As for the bad coding part, I don't see anyone arguing against this, mood point to bring up. 6. "All these EFT best settings video's are purely for the clicks and you know it": For one this is not a ''EFT best settings'' video. Secondly most of them are as they're lazy content and made just to gain views, hence I'm not doing them, I focus more on getting PC's running the best they can, the game being un-optimized is out of my hands. To add a little bit to point 6. Not every video is made by some lazy asshole, there are very good videos out there that actual help people, so stop putting everyone in one group as if they all have bad intend.

@ thank you so much man. Because i want same setup like yours. Do you think i need to wait for 9950x3d
@@edvinhlaj9501 Did like 3 runs on customs, 1440p high/ultra settings. HBAO was on Ultra and not Colored ultra as Colored ultra is just a waste of GPU resources imo. Only checkbox selected was grass shadows and nothing else, all other checkboxes are useless imo apart from streets lower texture mode but this wasn't relevant on customs anyways. FPS range was anywhere from 140 to 175 depending on the location, loads of PvP, shooting etc was happening during this. GPU usage was basically 100% all the time with an AVG FPS of 155. If you just game, the 9800X3D is ideal and the 9950X3D should be bought if you need the extra cores only. With the current prices the 9950X3D might fall into the price range of the 9800X3D so the 9950X3D could be 'worth it' if the price is right. The 9800X3D will mostlikely outperform the 9950X3D for games but they will be close to eachother, I wouldn't wait for the 9950X3D for better gaming performance.

how is the diffrence beetween 1440P and 4K On tarkov? i have a 1440P monitor and im thinking about uprgading , Thanks for the videos keep up the good work
Thanks for stopping by! I would rank it the same as going from 1080p to 1440p when you experience that for the first time, 1440p is great until you get to try 4K. Before you upgrade, I would consider looking into DLDSR and try 4K that way first, this will not result in a true 4K experience but will get pretty close imo. Using DLDSR will give you at least a rough idea of what to expect from 4K + you get to see how performance is on your system. Even though Tarkov is notorious for being a CPU bound game, 4K will not be super easy to run once you go up in quality settings.
I have upgraded to an 4K Asus ucdp and i don’t regret it. In the fps mode an shadow boost you can see everything in darker areas. The details are awesome. But below a rtx 4080 the frame rates are maybe not enjoyable.
can you try 1080p? sadly you are gpu bottlenecked here

@@BautistLOD I will test every setting in the game under a CPU bound scenario just like I tested each setting when GPU bound. With that said, I have no idea when I can test this properly since CPU bound scenario testing is very inconsistent even when using offline. The video will happen but I won't post anything until I'm 100% confident that the results are solid.
great video
Just curious, the lower texture map mode for streets was not enabled on these. Does that make no difference (FPS wise) anymore or was it just to keep the graphics higher? I have exact same specs other than having an MSI Tomahawk board and MSI PSU, but same ram, cpu, and gpu and get 100fps on high but I have the low streets box checked.
Streets lower texture mode was not used to keep the low/medium/high presets at their true texture settings, I felt like using the lower texture mode would defeat the purpose of this comparison. With that said the Streets lower texture mode definitely make a difference but it really depends on what your goal is and current settings. The Streets lower texture mode just lowers your Texture quality setting by 1 tick meaning High becomes Medium & Medium becomes Low textures. I prefere Texture quality on Medium as it doesn't tend to use VRAM to the max hence I'm not using the lower texture mode but if I was to use High texture quality I would enable the lower texture mode just to keep vram and ram in check on streets. If you quickly look at the Low and Medium runs you'll notice the RAM usage being around 20gb vs High almost using all of my 32GB, this is because having Textures on High on Streets will result in vram overflow.
@@wildgg That makes complete sense. I appreciate the detailed reply and explanation!
Longer video than usual so please use the timestamps to skip through the video! but due to many 4K gameplay requests, I figured I put different setting presets in one video. Today I just download Tarkov to test it on Street's, And I don't know how you guys get this amount of FPS, I realize that my GPU is quite old (RTX 2080), I have around 75FPS and on Scopes 55FPS, no matter what Settings I will chose, GPU is 40-50% utilzation, And Looks like 9800x3d is also 40%, RAM 6400 cl32, Game is much smoother than my Old I7 8700k But still I think is something wrong
If you haven't re-installed windows after the upgrade I highly recommend doing so. Chipset drivers is all you should need to install for the CPU, get the chipset driver from AMD's site.
@@wildgg after this comment I just startup the Game, and Oh Lord, around 140fps, I don't know what happen but I just Update BIOS to check the x3d gaming Mod, Which I didn't turn on, anyway thank you, This game is quite strange sometimes
Very nice video :) Cheers bro :)
Any chance you could help me with PBO on my 9800x3d?, it is not hitting 5.4GHz when stress testing on Cinebench or AIDA64.
RAM tuning is always worth it. But there are just a few sources where you can learn it.
fog fog go away pls don’t come back another day 🎉
can you point me in the right direction for how to get started with ram overclocking for the first time? are there guides out there for specific ram kits? the most ive done is set it to XMP. been too afraid to touch timings and stuff
RAM overclocking/tuning is quite the rabbit hole but checkout buildzoid aka ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking here on youtube, he probably has the most videos about any type of ram/cpu combo. Ryzen 9000 is pretty much the same when it comes down to memory tuning so this video would be a good starting point: ua-cam.com/video/dlYxmRcdLVw/v-deo.htmlsi=wwjsOZ6T67KTn9V7
Nice video mang I'm happy to stay with manual ram timings, pbo to -25 so I can stay with lower temps. Tried the +200mht offset with scalar x10 and dayum, my room wasn't that cool anymore :')
Thanks! Scalar 10x added about 0.100V on my CPU going from stock 1.2V to 1.3V under full load which increased temps quite a bit but should be fairly easy to cool still. Generally this CPU is so good that OC should be considered if you want every last % of performance, otherwise for sure PBO
When you increase scalar you are increasing the voltage to your chip I'd highly recommend leaving 1x you won't see any change but at the same time you won't damage CPU to high voltage
can you make a tutorial on how to do all that?
This is a big maybe to be honest with you. Every CPU & RAM kit overclocks differently, there's quite a lot of variables to it. pyurologie recently did a video on his bios setup so I would look into that for now but keep in mind mine or his settings might not work on your hardware.
@@wildgg what does the scalar do?
@@BautistLOD Basically increased voltage and use that more aggressively. I'm not sure if this is the same for every CPU and Motherboard but 10x resulted in 0.100 more V on my cpu going from 1.2V at defaults to 1.3V with scalar 10x.
@@wildgg alright, does tuning the ram results in more fps or just oc-ing and undervolting the cpu?
@@BautistLOD Good question! short answer is I'm not 100% sure but generally with the 3D chips ram speed/timings aren't THAT important, this doesn't mean you should get a 4800 cl40kit and call it a day but I'm fairly confident in saying most 6000 cl30 kits will come close to a tuned kit. With that in mind if I had to make an honest guess, I'd say overclocking the CPU will give you the bulk of the gains. If overclocking both CPU and RAM can increase fps by 10% than the CPU would probably be responsible for 7% and the ram for the other 3%.
My takeaway is that there are some big gains with Buildzoid timings and a good CPU OC. I wonder if there are measurable difference between manual RAM tuning and using Buildzoid Hynix DDR5 timings
I think his timings get you like 80% there as most XMP/EXPO profiles have terrible timings. With that said I'm not sure how much it truly matters as the CPU has so much cache.
Did you try getting FCLK to 2200? 9800X3D is mostly good binned as I've heard.
I have and even 2100 will just not go, my CPU ain't it :(
@@wildgg there's a balance and you have to weigh the scales on the poorly binned ones. lower soc voltage can increase high flck stability but greatly reduce ram o.c. stability. give and take. After a week fiddling with mine i ended up with flck 2133, ram @ 6400 cl32. couldn't tighten ram timing at all and keep 6400. I can hit 2200 flck at a super low soc voltage but couldn't o.c. ram at all past 6000 cl30. So i found the best middle ground.
Hello there.Merry Christmas to all.I have the fclk at 2200 with 6400 32cl.Its working perfect almost 1 month i have the cpu!I have pbo -20 without the +200 oc.Is it worth it to oc?Playing 4k all time with 4080s.
@@NoSkillsBro. if you're GPU bound at 4K(seems very likely lol) I wouldn't add 200mhz.
@@wildgg Thanks man for your reply.Merry Chrisas!Ofc im gpu bound seems 4k hehe.
NOTE: I limited this video to Offline without AI as this was the most consistent to test with. pvp offline coop has control of time and weather and is on a server, but requires a partner.. just a idea for you.
@@Reodhadh I 100% would do this but 1. I can't buy a standard account anymore with the co-op expansion so I'll have to buy unheard which is stupid expensive. 2. idk honestly what the performance difference will be, is co-op hosted like offline or PvE etc. 3. Using co-op mode would make it harder for people to compare my numbers with theirs if they don't have access to co-op.
You just need afmf2 with a amd gpu.. that’s not about cpu only, afmf2 is so fucking good. I have the same fps with 12400f and afmf2 even a bit more in 1440p And my 1% low is so much better
Frame gen is great whether you get this through an AMD GPU or the lossless scaling app, especially on lower end hardware this is game changing for a lot of people. With that said you do not get the same fps nor experience. You're not getting the same FPS as fake frames don't count imo and the experience is different because you cannot have inputs on those fake frames, making the input delay pretty aweful. Now, if you can get used to the input delay and you don't know any different, that's fine but a lot of people do not like it at all including me, I think the input delay is way to noticeable.
My input lag is 5-6ms dude.. you don’t know what you are talking about, I tried with recording with slow motion camera and compared that’s so fucking good, i just want to advice people, don’t need to buy a big config for that
@@printinforepair691 I'll await your video then, can't wait to see 5-6ms with fake frames.
@@wildgg 4 weeks and still no video LUL

I currently have a 14700k, do you think its worth it swithing to the 9800x3d, my gpu is a RTX 4080S and i havw 64GB ddr5 at 6000mts
As you can see in the video the difference is quite big and it's up to you to decide if that jump is worth it. When it comes to: is this upgrade worth it? I would say that is up to you and not me, it comes down to if you're happy with the performance you currently getting and if you have the money to spend. The 'is it worth it' question is really only for you to answer imo. I can say it's worth it because I had the money to spend but others might not have the money to spend on these parts, hopefully that made sense lol.. Here's another video of mine showing gameplay of the 9800X3D: ua-cam.com/video/UNk6Rbixg9o/v-deo.htmlsi=Qim9TtLe1-0QvzR2 Hopefully this helped.
