dude, this is the perfect 1 series ... applause applause applause i live for the app...blah, blah blah ga ga ga .... 4 real though, the 135's turbo can be TOO much sometimes in this car. drivers who want the purest driving experience go with a naturally aspirated engine. the 128 is perfecto in this sense w/ a 6 spd manual of course. I WANT YOUR CAR. i also like the rims too, they're different in a good way. enjoy your car, my envy!
Yeah I like the BMW interior. I've never been impressed by all the complex curves and busy plasticwork seen in alot of Japanese cars. For me, a nice understated but clean look with quality materials is way more desirable.
I'm actually I glad I came across your review. I'm on the fence about getting one of these or the 135 manual. I'm told that the 128i should be mated to 6 speed manual as the 135 manual isn't suited as well for it. This I heard from a sales man at Toronto BMW. My current car is 2009 Civic Si and it's a blast to drive but I'm not sure if this car (the 128i) is enough of a jump (driving/engine wise) than my current car. Thoughts?
Carole C. I have had one now for about 3 weeks, and it's fabulous. The specs are classic (front mounted 6 cylinder inline engine, RWD, 6MT) and is has PLENTY of power, if you're not a speed-demon, and even if you are, a bit. It's styling is of course similarly classic, and of the highest quality. I LOVE my little bimmer! And I HIGHLY recommend it.
So I drove a 135i Convertible the other day as a loaner car... Pros: VERY quick, quicker than 335i because of less weight Transmission sharp. Cons: Ugly design Absolutely horrible blind spot when looking back to change lanes. No amenities on my model. The 3 series convertible have bad blind spots, but this 1 series convertible might as well be a prison van with no rear glass. That's how bad it was, and no camera to assist either!
I drove this exact model with same packages installed for two days as a loaner car. Likes: M sport package - very good handling, taut, accurate Feels solid Dislikes: Interior too spartan, ergonomics not as good as 3 series, interior amenities lacking, engine could use more power...like the 335i, exterior looks like a midget, awkward design, trunk LOOKS big, but actually is not...illusion of small car body. That's my 2¢. I would take 328i for its amenities...if I didn't have a 335i already.
What do people on the internet think is going to happen with their licence plate number? whatever threat this is, couldnt anyone on the road do it aswell? i dont understand the difference between driving around and everyone on the road reading it, and seeing it on the internet.
Jack Mitchell I never understood it, and I still don't. I think people are scared to have other's find out where they live. Who knows! I think it's stupid. Just like you said, whatever the threat it, anyone else on the road could do the same thing.
its suppose to be worse than the 3 series the 1 series is suppose to be the "worst" Bmw car out there even though the 128i is still better than most brands best cars.
Slicktop, M-Sport, and 6MT? Perfect combination IMO.
Looking at a M-Sport 6MT but fully loaded sunroof and I-drive this week!
Great video Bert, thanks. I will be purchasing a BMW 128i and your review helped me a lot with my decision.
M sport for sure, good choices, great video
Audis and BMWs are my fave. Thanks for posting

Nice video. Disagree on the interior. I think it looks great. Simple German is so enjoyable to be in. Really nice car!
Thanks for the video! I'm very interested in this car.

Which one did you get?
Does it come with a spare wheel?
How does it do as a daily driver as far as comfort goes? Great overview of the car thanks for the vid.
Are you going to be driving this during canadian winters also?
Good review. Any problems driving in the snow?
I demand an M branded dead pedal for my car.
Any chance you can do an in car video on a drive?
Long shot here, but if you still have this car and are open to selling, let me know. I’m local and in the market for one with a similar spec.
Great car. Now that you have owned it for a while, any issues? I am considering purchasing this marque. Thanks.
