    this review was very helpful to me, i ended up buying a 2008 128 a week ago and i LOVE this car so far. It looks and drives beautifully. The steering feel is amazing, a nice heavy feel. Optimal milage on the highway is at 75-80 mph! i drove 2000 miles in 2 days and got 29.5 mpg for the trip and that includes some thrilling accelerations over 100mph :)

      Dallas Texas still have it. I'm not doing a lot of miles with it since I work from home but no issues. I replaced the battery recently, it still had the original battery. I've not taken it in for service. Still love it, I'll keep it till tesla can deliver a model3 to me.

    I bought a 2011 128i a couple of weeks ago and I just love how it drives. The car has plenty of power, it handles amazingly well, the steering is precise and the front seats provide perfect support. I agree with the review about the plastics feeling cheap, this would be my only complain so far. Mine has very few options, I only wish it had the paddle shift for extra fun but even without the driving experience is just exceptional.

      Do you still have the 128i? How was the reliability?

      @@anthonygiordano3991 It was my daily driver for 4 four years but I had to sell it in 2020 when I had my first kid.
      It was the best car I ever owned and the best car I ever drove. It has been very reliable the whole 40k miles I put on it. I only ever had to complete scheduled maintenance with the exception of a valve headcover gasket replacement due to a small oil leak (known problem on N52 engines) this set me back $800 since it's a labor intensive job. I would love to buy the same car again, I really miss it!

    • @anthonygiordano3991
      @anthonygiordano3991 Рік тому

      @@Virtualmix - Wow, sounds like it was pretty reliable! Did you have that valve headcover gasket replaced by the BMW dealer? How many miles did it have on it when you sold it? I appreciate the information!

    • @Virtualmix
      @Virtualmix Рік тому

      @@anthonygiordano3991 I bought the car with around 50k miles and sold it under 90k miles. I did all the scheduled services at the dealership but it always felt like a huge rip-off. They found the headcover gasket leak and quoted $1600 to replace it but I couldn't justify the cost and got it done at a local garage for half the price. Overall the car didn't cost me much to own since it was almost at the bottom of the depreciation curve when I bought it and I was able to sell it privately for a decent price. I bought another used BMW after this one but it's nowhere near a fun (2015 X3).

    Everything you said is true! Mine is also black on black. I've had all BMW series and this 128i is just as fun if not more. And it drives better the older it gets. Mine is 2011 and it looks and feels practically brand new! And no issues what so ever.

    minis are really pricey for the amount of car you get. drivers machines? hell yeah but the styling and tech base price has been pretty old on its feet. and optioned out your well into the 30's. i still LOVE BMW but its 2013 theres a few things they can at least do standard. they can start by tinting the damn windows on their SUV'S.

  • @TheK24Kyle
    @TheK24Kyle 11 років тому

    I never compared it to anything. but honestly im not the first to say BMW has lost it a little. me and my aunt who is german biased as HELL (she has a 2000 323ci convertible with 115K and no issues) and we went test driving and i decided and she decided to keep her bimmer and shes glad she did. i have no issue with entry level luxury but any mercedes will completely top this.. ESPECIALLY the older ones. the old BMW's also.on the new ones, some issues in reliability and pricing is pretty evident.

      If you have never owned a BMW compared to say Ford/Toyota/GM/Mazda---any mainline manufacturer, prepared to pay more for maintenance whether you do it yourself or not. For instance the inline 6 takes 7 quarts of synthetic 5w30.
      However, the 128i is pretty simple for a BMW and I've had no real problems in 2 years of ownership and mine is a Convertible. You see plenty of 128i's and sopme 135i's with well over 100k on the market now.
      I really enjoy my 128i and have done some decent modifications and run it hard.
      Good luck with your purchase.
