Says he's going to keep the build pretty "practical"... a few videos later tears off fenders, cuts body and shoves 37's on an unlifted jeep and goes off-roading haha! I can't blame you though I'm dealing with those same urges right now as I just bought my first Wrangler a few weeks ago. Sub'd.
Same. Bought a 2dr JK three days ago and my Quardatech wish list is like 10k deep right now. Having to set up a Jeep savings because I can't just drop that much cash (especially after the 40k I just kissed goodbye when I bought my Jeep) - this guy sure makes me want to go for broke though, great friggin' series.
You guys are so right, I purchased my 2014 JK the end of January and have already upgraded almost $3000 worth in “stuff” and still planning on Teraflex 2 1/2” lift with Fox shocks! Will it ever end? Getting my vehicle ready for my “first” the off-road experience, totally not me since I even dust off my ‘65 Mustang Fastback off after it sits in my shop just a few days..... a very anally clean car show fanatic!
No problem. Here you go: goo.gl/f4Xp9p The part number for our American Thunder high clearance system is 817674. Give us a call at (707) 544-4761 if there is anything else that we can help you with.
I just did this install on a 17 Rubicon JKU. Just a heads up for anyone that is going to undertake this, a sawzall is your friend. It's almost like Chrysler doesn't want you to change out the sound and performance. The Flowmaster sounds great though.
I just put front and rear flares on my '08 JK a couple weeks ago, and also chose the American Thunder exhaust and am installing it over the this Labor Day weekend. Can't wait to hear the sound upgrade! Thanks for showing how easy the install is without a hoist- that's what I was worried about. AWESOME VIDEO BUDDY!
***** Yes I apologize. I meant to say "any other JK stick shift drivers." I know most TJ/YJ/CJs are manual, but almost all the JKs are automatic. It is almost like an epidemic.
Thanks for the video! I just installed this same Flowmaster exhaust on my 2014 JKUR. It sounds amazing when you're accelerating, but its very quiet while cruising. Exactly what I was looking for! FYI to anyone that is looking to purchase this: I had to either cut a small rivet off of my "Y" pipe or saw off an inch of the tubing to fit this exhaust in the way it is supposed to be. Just do yourself a favor and have either a hacksaw or dremel with a metal cutting wheel handy.
Great install video! I've approached my 2013 two-door manual Rubicon the same way. Part of the reason I was attracted to Jeep is because it still offers a manual. But, yeah, it was too quiet and I couldn't hear what the engine was doing. I am a sports car enthusiast but I also love off-road vehicles. Within a week of getting the Rubicon I installed an aFe 2.5 high-tuck system and an aFe Momentum intake (sorry Mangnaflow), and I also installed a Sprint Booster to change the throttle response. The Sprint Booster is an expensive little piece of plastic, but it radically improves the Jeep's driving dynamics. My Rubicon has better throttle response than my souped-up Sprint Booster-equipped MINI Cooper. I keep the Jeep in Red "race mode" all the time as it's way more sporty; I can actually blip the throttle when downshifting, which seems crazy for a Jeep. It takes a few drives to re-learn the gas pedal, but going back to stock feels like driving through molasses. Highly recommended as you develop your project. All the best.
LOL, I did the same thing I'm getting rid of my 2001 Lifted WJ well loaning to my GF in Chicago till she gets here. Love my WJ and I to used an Iron Rock Off Road kit but in 6 1/2 inch. So by accident I also got a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. And already looking forward to building it. And yes the JK has tons and tons more aftermarket support. Great vids keep em coming.
This is a very well thought out and edited video, good choice of background music which does not drown your voice. I wish that all videos would be that good. All my vehicles have Corsa exhausts, but I like the sound of yours! 👍
I've had a Jeep my whole life. My dad had one when we was kids, mom had Jeep Cherokee. Always had one in my family. I've got a 2016 4 Dr Wrangler now and was wandering about putting flowmasters on it. I'm inspired now...... Oh yeah also, all jeeps ride like a damn heard of goats lol. I take my truck on long trips
I don't normally leave comments but when I do, its for people who deserve it! Great recording skills, not shaky or so close to the part that you can't make out what the part is. Oh and of course.... great choice in exhaust and mod!! Sounds like angels singing lol
Great video! Very clear, awesome camera and editing work! We were waiting for our JKU’s stock exhaust to die first, but might be bumping up this upgrade to the top of our list after seeing your vid!
AutoEdits - our muffler just died - time for this upgrade! Question: did this exhaust mod affect your mileage? I’m hearing rumors that you lose a mpg or 2 by installing this Flowmaster setup?
First time for me on my jk 2011, started to upgrade on it. 2dr is my first time and started with a Gibson exhaust and it's amazing sounds. Very fast also the door handle and it's almost finished with an upgrade to it.
Thanks for the tips and inspiration. I had been looking at a comparable Borla model for my tricked out 2013 Rubi and procrastinating. After seeing this, I got going and changed over to the Flowmaster featured in the video. Amazon had a good price with Prime and it arrived in 48 hours. Install took about 3 hours, all in all. The tough part was removal of the old exhaust. The WD40 tip for the rubber hangers was spot-on Thanks! I would also add to use a large pair of channelocks to easily pop off the lubricated hanger from the exhaust pipe without damage. Just set the jaw spacing so you can place one jaw on the outside center of the steel pin and the other on the inside rubber, against the side of the pin and gently squeeze. No need to buy the special tool. Similarly, loosen the existing exhaust clamps and then liberally spray WD40 or other penetrating lubricant into the slip joint of the exhaust pipes to loosen them up because they stick tight. After doing that, I was able to twist-rock the muffler loose relatively easily. Prior to lubrication, it wouldn’t budge. I used the same lube process for the front pipe and then “convinced” it loose with a hand sledge and a block of wood, tapping the resonator to drive the pipe off the collector pipe. Install of the new pipe couldn’t have been easier and only took about 30 minutes.
Congrats on the jeep. The manual transmission is awesome but I got rid of my stick shift because of the 405. Now I live farther out and the stick shift would be the way to go.
I had seen some videos of the AmericanThunder Flowmaster system... but it did not sound as good as it does here! I was really looking for that FLOWMASTER 40 sound. I had a 4 cyl YJ with one of those, and man that sound'd almost like a V8. I am really reminiscing on THAT sound! Hopefully I'll achieve something similar to that in my JKUR!!! Thanks for the vid!!!
Greetings Jason... Just wanted to drop a quick note and provide some feedback on this video as I probably watched it 15+ times over the last 6 months. I really appreciate it! I received my kit just yesterday to install on my '08 JK. I know you made this look real easy and honestly it probably should have been, however that stock pipe on a 2008 JK was a pain in the butt to remove with rusted bolts and hangers that had never moved an inch. Also, to make it ever harder all original slip fits were tightened upside down (especially the first one) so I had to use a heck of a lot of PB blaster etc. to get that to loosen with no space to work etc. (The muffler for whatever reason what welded to the slip fit so I had to get the saw saw out to cut it apart. A quick note to older JKs, the first part of the new installation is a little off. The first hanger is for 07-11 JK and the second is for newer. (Not really 2 vs 4 door) Also, my stupid pipe had some sort of soldered round ring I had to cut of with a saw before anything slipped on there. Also, the stupid slip fits in my package were so tight that I had to completely open every one of them (everything going everywhere) then tighten them back together with tools to get them on the pipe. Yours were just rolling around around the pipes. Finally, the last part of the exhaust pretty much rests on the rear sway bar. There is absolutely no space whatsoever. I bought a set of the Synergy rear sway bar relocation brackets to fix it all. Thanks again for putting this one back up as I think the included instructions sucked and I couldn't have done this without you!
Just literally finished installing this on my 2013 JKU, i ended up trimming 2 inches off the first pipe coming off the Y pipe. I counldnt get the tip on otherwise. I think it maybe because of my lift, 2.5 TF suspension lift. Anyway it fits perfect and sounds great. The hardest part was the factory clamp near the Y pipe and then disconnecting pipe from the Y. Removing from the hangers was not much fun either. Get yourself a bottle of WD40 or something for sure!!!
I'm kinda surprised by how quiet that JK was with the stock exhaust on it. I daily a Chrysler 200 with a 3.6l and even though the exhaust is 100% factory with a resinator and suitcase type muffler in similar locations (only centered since it's fwd), it has a slight snarl when started and driven. Good choice on the Flowmaster too, I really like how your JK sounds and have heard both generations of 200s running single, rear mounted Super 10's and love the sound.
I've watched all the videos up to the six pack shocks you put on this jeep. What would you estimate you have put into this jeep since you bought it ? If you can , give a break down of self installed price and estimated installed of everything you have done including the 37" tires. I like the build of this jeep and I'm considering a new 2017 Rubicon. The other thing that came to mind is , since you had beefed up tie rod ends and entire suspension and put up the Rubicon suspension for sale. Would you go back and buy a cheaper model jeep since you upgraded the already beefed up Rubicon suspension ??? I spoke to a complete jeep remodeling garage , and they advised buying a jeep wrangler or sport and building it up , as opposed to buying a Rubicon and then building it up since suspension is going to be changed. Thanks , hope you can shed some light on my concerns and choices.
I've got a flowmaster 40 series custom exhaust on my 16 JK and I'm happy with it. The exhaust has a nice tone not a hot rod but sporty. I did notice a slight loss of torque in the low range of the rpms which I'm not happy about but it does pull better in the higher ranges.
Mine was so much harder to install. I think its because my rock krawler lift moved that rear sway bar back an inch so i had to remove it and connect tail pipe and then bolt sway bar back to the frame. Its also a very tight fit and evena fter adjusting 12 times it still touches some of the parts of the underside of the jeep. The hangers dont line up perfectly even when the pieces are adjusted and double checked they are all the way into the slip fit connections. My Ace pro series steel rear bumper has the tip resting against it rattling so i may cut the tip or bend it a little or grind a notch in the bumper. The sound is great and worth it once installed. I think i forgot and threw out the hanger pieces that go on the end of the posts after install. I can probably order some but dont think they will come off as the exhaust is pretty tight in there.
+Jason Asunto The in cabin drone and resonance is very noticeable, even more with A/C on or driving cold. After grinding the tab off, it fits better, but the stock band clamps do not hold well enough even with a light impact gun action, since i wanted to replace them, i went even closer to breaking point, clamps still lacked the holing strength and pipes still rotated. I ended up busting them with impact trying to get tight enough to hold. Changed to u-bolt clamps, its solid now and does not move. It still leaks out of slip fits as it did with the band clamps and hisses on cold starts. I may have a shop weld it now that the fit is perfect. I wish it was a hair less honda civic fart can sounding. Once the tab is ground off (allow front to slide on an inch further) for a good fit, i think it is the best fitting exhaust and best exit, but the clamps and sound leave me wondering.
Awesome vid! For anyone who wants great sound but can't afford it the factory resonator sounds a lot like a turbo muffler. Remove stock muffler big one in back and get a 2.5 inch id turn down and clamp it where the muffler clamped on
Excellent videos and approach that most of us can relate to i guess..From Bahrain, own a 2015 white Rubicon unlimited, planning on easy mods, Flowmaster was not at all on my list till i saw this video..Now minds made up, Thanks and more jeep video's pls..
just had this installed on my 2015 2-door Wrangler. MAN THIS THING IS LOUD! I don't know is it because the car was so quiet before and all you heard was the wind noise, but now it feels so loud I have to watch my throttle around the neighborhoods. I expected this to kinda be half way loud between the stock and current level. It sounds SWEET however, very rumbly, lots of pops and gurgles on engine braking mode. Sounds very good on a manual transmission JK. I was actually following a SRT grand cherokee and couldn't tell which car sounded better. It's a weird feeling driving the same Jeep but it sounds like a freaking race car
So after having this exhaust for a month -Do you still like it? Any buyers/install regrets? I have a 2016 JKUR and have done a ton of mods - recently removed my exhaust spacers and installed a Adams Driveshaft because I was prepping to get this exhaust ( spacers will cause you to have to cut more of the exhaust in order to install - anyway Im still on the fence with this purchase - little more sound would be good but dont want to add more sound so as not to have a conversation without yelling. Any input?
It's aggressive sounding but absolutely tame enough on the highway to have a conversation or talk on the phone but make no mistake...it is not mild...kind of rowdy.
+Deacon Nyte at first i was like wow it's so loud, kinda scary because it changed the whole character of the car. right now, I'm so used to it i can't imagine going back to stock sound. it would feel like a prius after this i imagine. in short, i recommend it. if you have an automatic, i dont know, i probably wouldn't bother, but if u have a manual, I'd go for it.
Great video... I just purchased the same exhaust for my 2016 JKU... One question... Did you really need the ramps, or did you find the extra lift was more helpful in putting things together? Thanks for posting this along with the other vids... Very helpful and shows what to encounter when attempting. BTW, please don't refer to the Jeep as a car. ;) lol
Sounds great! I went with a Spintech muffler on my 4.0L and I absolutely love it! Of course I hallowed at my cat to help it breathe a little better. I'm honestly surprised how good yours sounds though, great video!
Very nice! I'm also a Flowmaster fan. Have a 50 on my 5.7l XK now. Been looking to pick up another JK and will consider this. About as good as I think the 3.6l can sound.
Love the video and the installation I just wish the connection was the other way around 6:36 cuz to me it will make sense to have the bigger opening on the back so that way there's no resistance when the muffler is in use and maybe collect condensation
yeess!! it's a jeep thing!!.... awesome JK sounds pretty good.. some 5:13's on 35's, nice winch bumper and good lightning and your set... such a capable vehicle the rubicon!... i had a TJ rubicon for a while, then a WJ but i just had to go back to a XJ ...but some day i'll get divorce or something and will be able to afford a JK rubicon jaja... great video as usual!... saludos from mexico!!1
Mackenzie Yarbough Hey, Thanks! I just watch a couple of your vids and that Shaker Hood Forza thing is insane! I play Asseto Corsa and it doesn't even come close to how good that looks. For your other real car videos, let them run a little longer!
Great video. I've been looking for a nice throaty exhaust system for my `15 JKU and glad I found your video. That's EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Time to go buy mine. The install looked really easy. How long did it take you and what, if any, was the biggest pain in the ass during the install? Also, I see you still have the stock bumper on your Jeep. I've been reading reviews where people are saying a metal bumper is recommended because the exhaust was melting their OEM bumper. Your experience and thoughts?
Great vids man! Are those the plastic rhino ramps? Just got a pair to do the oil change on my grand Cherokee wondering how they handle. On another note I’ve been seriously thinking of trading it in for a wrangler. Don’t get me wrong grand Cherokee is awesome!! But love the wrangler look and the endless amount of customization you can do to it.
So this went on pretty easy. Just threw out the directions and followed your video. The only real trouble was the 15mm bolt for the clamp closest to the Y. Seems like jeep put it upside down.... Oh, and even with WD-40 those rubber hangers are a pain.
Very nice.. Sounds great. I have the 2015 Rubicon (black) which is identical looking to yours. That was a much earlier installation than I would have guessed.
+autoedit I noticed my typo. I meant "much easier installation" But I'm sure you picked that up. Iv'e been watching your other Jeep videos and they are very thorough and honest. And I love the multiple camera angles. I know how much work goes into that so I can appreciate the work.. Thanks
How is the interior resonance / drone? Any problems at highway speeds? I really like the design of this exhaust and it sounds great. I'm just hesitant to pull the trigger on it yet due to worry over drone and overall interior noise level.
+Steven McNair There is ZERO drone on the freeway! I can chat on the phone or talk with passengers no problem, it's only loud under acceleration...when I really wanted it to be. So far I have been completely happy with this system.
I have always been leery about putting exhaust on a V6 because they sometimes get really tinny and raspy. I think that is a horrible sound. This 3.6L actually sounds pretty good. I have a 2016 Sahara Unlimited that I think I need to get a new exhaust for!!
Can I get your advice? Ever since watching this video I've really wondered if I should upgrade to this exact system. I LOVE how the relocation gets this up out of the way of rocks, but is there a performance improvement over stock? I don't just want a noisemaker, I'd like a system that also improves MPG and power (if possible)
Are there any concerns with carbon monoxide when turning the exhaust down under the vehicle? This one almost exits completely, but other models don't. I'm wondering if a lot of idling or slow crawling could have negative consequences, e.g. dogs in the back
Great vid... great sound! The only question I have is this... does the exhaust get “raspy” or “coffee can import” like at higher rpm? I just had replace my entire exhaust on my JKU due to cracked manifolds. I picked up a set of long tube headers and y pipe, and running a Gibson dual exit axleback that sounds great if I keep the rpm under 2500... it get very raspy and annoying above that and I am looking to do this set up on mine.
I have a question for anyone who has this same exhaust. I have the same rubicon Unlimited as Jason, and have purchased and installed the exact same exhaust. I'm completely stock, just as in this video. If anyone has this setup, my question is are any of you rubbing your exhaust on the rear sway bar? If so, could it be possible to shim the sway bar mounting location on the frame to achieve a greater distance between the exhaust pipe in the sway bar? Jason, I would be curious if you ran into this issue with yours. I understand by now your rear sway bar has been relocated a great distance and obviously not an issue now, but when you were stock.
It is a very close fit and took a few extra minutes with all of the clamps loose to get the orientation of the exhaust pipe just right but it does clear. A spacer would work as well since the lift kit I installed had a giant one to accommodate that and works fine.
Did you perhaps remove the stop behind the collector? Or did you leave that intact. The first pipe that you put on in relationship to the collector has a tab or a small titthat stops at first pipe from going forward any further. Just curious if you removed it?
Great video and your jeep sounds awesome. How do you think the sound will differ on a 2008 Rubicon before the Pentastar engines were introduced? Thanks
Seems to be the way to go. Heat shield is falling apart at this time ..Love living in New England ... Any advice on rust prevention as well ? AS always thanks big guy...
What hurt/s more the piercing or the braces? I know my braces really made my teeth sore some days. Also been thinking of a piercing in the little stub.
Hi, I just installed a the same muffler setup you did. The last section of exhaust pipe is sitting on the swaybar and rattles. Did this happen with yours? I have a stock swaybar setup, so not sure how Flowmaster claims this fits my JK. If it did happen to you, how did you eliminate the metal/metal touching and rattling?
Hey there, it's a simple adjustment. In this video I had the stock sway bar as well and made sure to mention to take your time and start from front and adjust and tighten your way to the back. It's a very close fit but with some patience, you'll get it. I'm still running it after all these years and am still very happy with it!
You're not going to like this but it took me several minutes to adjust... tighten... wiggle like crazy listening for hitting and then untightening... adjusting... re-tighten... repeat. The tolerances are very close (a good thing) so just double check the routing.
Jason, I have been looking for an exhaust for a while and I keep coming back to the one you have. But I have one important - to me - question, do you have any noticeable drone at any rpm. I too have a hardtop, 3.6. Thanks for your help! -Adam.
Thank you for this video! You convinced me to buy this exhaust. I just finished installing it in my '16 JK HR. And you were right, awesome factor went up immediately. Adding a cold air intake later this week. Any thought on that? Great videos btw. Thanks for sharing all of this with us.
+Ty Bo Nope, everything you might need you see in this video...although another commenter mentioned that he has a 2 door Jeep and had to cut the first section of pipe.
+autoedit i forget the exact length, but the directions mention cutting off 20 point something inches from the straight section for the 2 doors and using their provided hanger.
Here's a link directly to the Holley webpage for this kit www.holley.com/products/exhaust/exhaust_systems/flowmaster/american_thunder/parts/817674

So true!!! When I bought it I told my wife my Willy's looked so good that I didn't need to do anything to it......that didn't last long lol.

I even put a Flowmaster on the truck

Autodidact is the 2018 Wrangler really quiet without the Flowmaster? Just want to know.👌
When should we expect a setup for the JL ?
So funny to watch this old video now after following your channel for so long. Your plans for keeping the Jeep “basic” hilarious in retrospect.
So true!
Can we have only one potato chip ?

I totally agree. Driving a manual makes you more aware. Awesome keep
One of the best sounding Jeep exhausts I've heard. Others I've heard just sounded like a long drone, on acceleration.
snobotz It's been great so far!
any other stick shift wrangler drivers out there besides me and +autoedit ?
***** Yes I apologize. I meant to say "any other JK stick shift drivers." I know most TJ/YJ/CJs are manual, but almost all the JKs are automatic. It is almost like an epidemic.
Right here, 1990 wrangler yj 5-speed
Alex Masraum have my 2017 JKU 6 speed being built right now. had to have it built cause they dont have any of the lot! smh
Yessir! 2016 JK and 84 CJ7 on Tobacco Road!
Alex Masraum yeah, 2013 jkur
Thanks for the video! I just installed this same Flowmaster exhaust on my 2014 JKUR. It sounds amazing when you're accelerating, but its very quiet while cruising. Exactly what I was looking for!

Thank you for the informative video. I just yesterday purchased a 2016 rubicon and will defiantly be making the switch over after viewing this.
JK's should only be made with 6 speed manual transmissions. Totally awesome ride. I also agree that it's a Jeep, not a car.
6 speeds are fun. When you have a knee that cant hold a clutch it becomes a nightmare.. i miss my standard..
Went with your advice. American thunder is getting put on while I type this. Can't wait to hear and feel the difference!
Nice sounds good I Just got done putting a flow master super 44 dual kit on my ram 1500 with the 4.7 got love that flow master sound
Bryan Resch get online and start pricing the parts out. it will be a scary number though. that's why you just build it in steps.
very excited about the jeep. Can't wait to see what's next.
Sounds great. Great choice with the manual.
I have the same year Wrangler, automatic and sport. I have bought it when it came out, and have put on some wide ass P265 tires.
Flowmaster all the way. Good job, nice video. The Flowmaster on my 4.0l TJ sounds much more beefier than the 3.6 but great choice nonetheless.👍
I just want to say great Videos. I enjoy the fact that you show a lot of great angles and very informative!
This put a smile on my face . Love it
Mine was so much harder to install.
Watched the video again now going to pick one up for my 2015. Then the last thing I will need is a lift but thee way down the road thanks
+Mark Fisch Yeah, my buddy says just to get out and learn the vehicle like it is and then add stuff later...just get out there!
+jassim np Thank you!
Sounds good and great ground clearance
just had this installed on my 2015 2-door Wrangler.
+Deacon Nyte at first i was like wow it's so loud, kinda scary because it changed the whole character of the car. right now, I'm so used to it i can't imagine going back to stock sound. it would feel like a prius after this i imagine. in short, i recommend it. if you have an automatic, i dont know, i probably wouldn't bother, but if u have a manual, I'd go for it.
good job!! sounds amazing.
nice tip with wd40 I usually go for the lithium in the spray can, have lots of wd around though.
Have myself a 2016 backcountry edition, with the stick shift!
I was thinking magnaflow till i saw this! Damn you! Good video, but hey, its a Jeep not a car! lol
Love the video and the installation I just wish the connection was the other way around 6:36 cuz to me it will make sense to have the bigger opening on the back so that way there's no resistance when the muffler is in use and maybe collect condensation
yeess!! it's a jeep thing!!.... awesome JK sounds pretty good.. some 5:13's on 35's, nice winch bumper and good lightning and your set... such a capable vehicle the rubicon!... i had a TJ rubicon for a while, then a WJ but i just had to go back to a XJ ...but some day i'll get divorce or something and will be able to afford a JK rubicon jaja... great video as usual!... saludos from mexico!!1
martincillo111 That's very funny! Thanks so much for great hit points on the Jeep upgrades!
did your gas mileage get any better or stay the same?
Your videos are seriously Amazing love them keep it up. I just started alittle car channel myself I ran out of cars so I'm doing games for now
Mackenzie Yarbough Hey, Thanks! I just watch a couple of your vids and that Shaker Hood Forza thing is insane! I play Asseto Corsa and it doesn't even come close to how good that looks. For your other real car videos, let them run a little longer!
it sounds great, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video! I just ordered this today for my 2011 JKU rubicon!
Ordered today. Should sound sick with my long tube headers 😎
I'll bet that does sound good!
Great video as always! Sounds awesome, might have to do something like that on my dads Jeep
+Eric Boughton Thanks! Plus it was kinda fun to put it on.
+autoedit I noticed my typo. I meant "much easier installation" But I'm sure you picked that up. Iv'e been watching your other Jeep videos and they are very thorough and honest. And I love the multiple camera angles. I know how much work goes into that so I can appreciate the work.. Thanks
Your videos of Jeep Wrangler are great.
Congratulations.
Thanks very much!
I love it so much This is what I've been looking for!! Thanks my dude.
Stuck in my house so im watching your vids from the start! Question on the exhaust Jason, does it have drone? At any point?
Howdy and thanks for sharing quarantine with me! I have a manual transmission Jeep and don't notice a drone at all.
I have always been leery about putting exhaust on a V6 because they sometimes get really tinny and raspy. I think that is a horrible sound. This 3.6L actually sounds pretty good. I have a 2016 Sahara Unlimited that I think I need to get a new exhaust for!!
Wow this things sounds great!
Great video and sound. Is there a dual exhaust setup that gives this sound on the JL?
Can I get your advice? Ever since watching this video I've really wondered if I should upgrade to this exact system. I LOVE how the relocation gets this up out of the way of rocks, but is there a performance improvement over stock? I don't just want a noisemaker, I'd like a system that also improves MPG and power (if possible)
Are there any concerns with carbon monoxide when turning the exhaust down under the vehicle? This one almost exits completely, but other models don't. I'm wondering if a lot of idling or slow crawling could have negative consequences, e.g. dogs in the back
Yes! you should always be careful with exhaust routing. This on turns down and clears the rear bumper so it has worked great for me.
autoedit Awesome, thanks for the reply! Great videos - liked and subbed
This never gets raspy and it tucks so tight under the body I never hit it on rocks... it's good.
AutoEdits awesome! Thank u for the reply! Ordering it now!
Glad to see you bought a 6 speed, sounds better than stock.
Shakerhood69 Thanks! It is such a blast to drive.
Sounds good. Like the new found clearance
Hi Jason. I really like this new project vehicle and I'm looking forward to new episodes to see what you'll do next. Take it easy Man. -Drew
Supradrew™ Thanks Drew! Me too.
Great video and your jeep sounds awesome. How do you think the sound will differ on a 2008 Rubicon before the Pentastar engines were introduced? Thanks
+Mark Jasek Probably be very similar.
Seems to be the way to go. Heat shield is falling apart at this time ..Love living in New England ... Any advice on rust prevention as well ? AS always thanks big guy...
I regularly pressure wash and spray tool box buddy on the underside but you live in a whole different atmosphere.
@@AutoEdits Thanks for the tip
What hurt/s more the piercing or the braces? I know my braces really made my teeth sore some days. Also been thinking of a piercing in the little stub.
I just bought 2 of these for my TL
Nice
well documented (and implemented) multi angle project.. have you noticed any fuel mileage data - one way or the other?
Sounds great, did you notice any noticeable difference in performance?
+TG Glenn It seems like it helped a little in performance but the sound is all around more fun to go through the gears!
Have you had issues with drone at any rpm range or at highway cruising speeds? Great vids on the build.
👌👍sounds awesome , have to get this exact for my 16 jku Rubi, NICE
I would add the video of the stock exhaust. Where did it come a part at. Did it just fall off? Was it a coupling, did you cut it, what happened?
Any suggestions to the rare rattle of it hitting the rear sway bar? New hangers? Happens when I back up starting to move.
You're not going to like this but it took me several minutes to adjust... tighten... wiggle like crazy listening for hitting and then untightening... adjusting... re-tighten... repeat. The tolerances are very close (a good thing) so just double check the routing.
Appreciate the feedback, will be patient 😉
6 speed here., just got my 2 door 2 months ago.,., thinking about doing this.
Jason,
I have been looking for an exhaust for a while and I keep coming back to the one you have. But I have one important - to me - question, do you have any noticeable drone at any rpm. I too have a hardtop, 3.6. Thanks for your help! -Adam.
My 2011 JK Sport Wrangler is a manual 6 speed stick shift and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Sounds sick. and the install looked fairly simple!
Yeah it was pretty fun.
What a good video.. makes you want to buy it
Thank you for this video! You convinced me to buy this exhaust. I just finished installing it in my '16 JK HR. And you were right, awesome factor went up immediately. Adding a cold air intake later this week. Any thought on that? Great videos btw. Thanks for sharing all of this with us.
+ksivera Thanks dude! I'll be curious to hear how you like the cold air intake...I'm thinking of that as well.
Nice video, definitely getting!
Do I need anything extra at all to install it?
Thanks!
Thank you sir I will surely look into asseto corsa.. I'm looking into buying cameras and stuff I would like to dive in soon
Props for the 3.6 over the 3.8
Nice! Awesome video! Stainless is the way to go!
p.s.: Glad you joined the club... NOTHING BEATS A JEEP
only another JEEP beats are JEEP.
accept a lifted 4runner for overlanding. ive seen tons of 4runner getting jeeps out of the mud
