  • Welcome to the brand new Terminal 3 at LAX Airport! This beautiful phase of the Delta Sky Way Project at LAX was completed and opened to the public on October 5, 2022. The original Terminal 3 was completely demolished to build this brand new facility! This phase costs over 2.3 billion USD. From demloision, to opening, this project took about 2 years (2020-2022), which was also ahead of schedule, with its original opening date set in 2024. There is only a couple more extensions to be completed, to finish the full Delta Sky Way Project, which includes a connection to the Tom Bradley International Terminal (Terminal B), and a bridge connecting to the Automated People Mover Tram (Set to open in late 2023). Enjoy the Tour!

Amazing tour. Best one I can find of T3. Any signs as to when the West headhouse will open?

Thank you! They are expecting to open that portion to the public around mid-2023.

Nice video. Nice terminal, but California haters will still say LAX is worse than prison.

Lax will be nice when it’s done. But it’s still a pain currently.

A bit disappointing really. As beautiful as LAX can look from a distance, for a "complete rebuild", it still looks like the side entrance to a 90's mall. Tom Bradley and Midfield seem to have got it right.

I would hope so, the other one was so old. A lot of lax was well overdue for remodel and I'm really glad they're nearing completion of the massive projects they've been doing. LAX will be sooooo much better

LAX is slowly leaving the 70's to finally making an appearance in the 2000's !!!! Sadly it seems LA waits to host the Olympics to make renovations to the airport

The renovations were planned and started before LA was awarded the Olympics.

@@mrxman581 minor renovations, the big renovations began after it was announced LA would be hosting the 2028 Olympics

@@cmunoz810 Not true. Most of these renovations had already been planned and designed before LA was awarded the Olympics in September 2017. In fact, the construction of the first of these LAX projects started in 2017. So, yes, they had been planned and designed way before LA got the Olympics. And LA actually lost the Olympics they wanted which were the 2024 Olympics. The IOC awarded the 2028 Olympics as a consolation prize. I don't think an Olympics has ever been awarded that way. It was a unique deal that many believe was a consolation prize because LA presented the better proposal but they gave it to Paris due to the 100 year anniversary of the last time Paris hosted the games. In the end, it turned out better for LA because many of these infrastructure projects will be done in time for the Olympics and not only at LAX but LA Metro projects and other city projects too. Losing the 2024 Olympics was a blessing in disguise.

Delta is definitely the best US carrier right now and i try to fly them from here in Fresno anytime i can. They don't do non-stop to LA from here though, only Alaska and United do. I might have to book delta through salt lake City next time i go to LA just to see the new terminal

5:00 Seeing all the PS5 consoles upside down inside the cases made me 🙄.
    Nice area though.

Delta did not build the terminal as designed. In the original design, the connector building had a clerestory. The clerestory added volume and natural light.

I'd guess they took it out because it would've taken longer to construct and they wanted the new terminal done sooner. The original airport plans were to finish in a few years from now

This is one of the few times when I like something new better than the old thing it replaced, even if I had an attachment to the old one. I take it that they demolished and rebuilt this terminal completely for Delta Air Lines. I was in and out of LAX terminal 3 on trips a while ago with Virgin America, and Alaska for some reason had a flight from Seattle that had a gate at 3 in 2018-ish as well. To be honest, I never saw any issue with the old terminal until I saw the new one. The old one was so ahead of its time: you’d never know it was built in the 60s. Sure it was dated in places and felt a bit empty, but the main section had a spacious feeling with high ceilings and a lot of natural light: I liked it because it was unique, nostalgic, and I have memories watching planes from there. However, the new one definitely seems like a major upgrade. At least, there’s a lot more things to do while you wait for your flight. I like that they kept the unique airy feeling that I remembered from the old terminal while putting modern touches into the new design.
