    Please do more videos like that.
    You had such a compact package of valuable information in this one and a lot of it was extremely useful.
    If you do it like in this video, I think it would even pay off to explain the basics of airbrushing and use/dilution of your products for example.
    Really high level content, better then what GW puts out in my opinion.

      Seems like the glossy undercoat allows you some freedom to angle it away from recesses without killing the effect even if you miss some underneath parts, as well

      Hi Edward! Thank you for your comment. Yes, nothing prevents you from using brushes, but it's important to remember that they work best with a thin layer of color. This will really make the shifter effect stand out. To achieve this, airbrush application is highly recommended, as it will help you avoid any undesirable brush strokes 😊

      Hello ErgonomicChair! 😊The bigger (and curvier) the surface, the better -- 'cause you will have a wide painted area where the light can work on the pigments and reflect the Shift effect. Anyway, try to use these colors on those pieces. Don't worry if you're new to this - it's always worth giving it a try! 😊 Remember to use gloss black primer with these colors for optimal shift effect! Happy painting! ✨

    • @vallejocolors
      @vallejocolors  2 роки тому

      Hello Munchy Dragon! The multichromatic pigments used in the formulation of these colors give them a vibrant metallic sparkle, while their glass-like coating acts like a refracting prism. Each flake presents a variety of colors depending on the angle of view and incident light; for this effect and top results and finish you must use black gloss primer as the base color :)

      Hello Nicolaim! When painting, use very thin layers, and keep in mind that the shift effect may not appear as smooth as it would with an airbrush. •  4 роки тому +3

      The white part is medium, when you look at those "white" color-shifting paints, it looks like pearl. Shifting colors are obtained by metallic pigment that don't reflect color by themselves, the black undercoat is part of the reflection process that makes the color appear. That's also why several layer are required.
      In some color-shifting paints, the pigment are colorful enough so it doesn't look white. Those can be used with non black undercoat.

      The color shifting is much more obvious on a miniature than on a car body, due to the shape.
      Also, Angel doesn't really paint cars or tanks.

      @@ScottKenny1978 really ? i painted real cars with house of colour chameleon paint and that just bullshit..... the areas on that model are not big enough for the shift to happen properly.

      @@vasili1207 I've used a couple different color shifting paints, greenstuff world chameleon paints and Spaz Stix, the color shift effect was more pronounced on the more curved models.

    With how much/which types of varnish are these colours able to cope with? I'm aware it will lessen their effect, but as long as it stays decent, I would be fine with it. I would like to use these colours on models intended for gaming and those really need at least some varnish to keep all colour layers on them long term.

      Hello Gargboss! The best varnish for this paint is definitely gloss! You want your mini to shine, right? That’s the way to go then😊 Another option is using these colors with dry brush technique but try first with a different varnish if you want and check how they look once it dries
