Landing is the last part of a flight, where a flying animal, aircraft, or spacecraft returns to the ground. When the flying object returns to water, the process is called alighting, although it is commonly called "landing", "touchdown"a or "splashdown" as well. A normal aircraft flight would include several parts of flight including taxi, takeoff, climb, cruise, descent and landing. A Bombardier CRJ700 about to land Piper Cherokee landing sequence from approach to flare A landing Delta Air Lines Boeing 767-400ER. The smoke emanating from the left main undercarriage wheels shows that it touched down on that main landing gear first, which is normal procedure in a left cross wind. Boeing 737-800 of Ryanair makes a smoky landing at Bristol Airport (2016) A mute swan landing on a stretch of water. Note the ruffled feathers on top of the wings indicate that the swan is flying at the stalling speed. The extended and splayed primary flight feathers act as lift augmenters in the same way as an aircraft's slats and flaps. An unusual landing; a Piper J3C-65 Cub lands on a moving trailer as part of an airshow. File:F-18 - A 3-wire landing.ogvPlay media F-18 landing on an aircraft carrier Soyuz space capsule retro-rockets cushion the landing impact Contents Aircraft Edit Aircraft usually land at an airport on a firm runway or helicopter landing pad, generally constructed of asphalt concrete, concrete, gravel or grass. Aircraft equipped with pontoons (floatplane) or with a boat hull-shaped fuselage (a flying boat) are able to land on water. Aircraft also sometimes use skis to land on snow or ice. To land, the airspeed and the rate of descent are reduced such that the object descends at a low enough rate to allow for a gentle touch down. Landing is accomplished by slowing down and descending to the runway. This speed reduction is accomplished by reducing thrust and/or inducing a greater amount of drag using flaps, landing gear or speed brakes. When a fixed-wing aircraft approaches the ground, the pilot will move the control column back to execute a flare or round-out. This increases the angle of attack. Progressive movement of the control column back will allow the aircraft to settle onto the runway at minimum speed, landing on its main wheels first in the case of a tricycle gear aircraft or on all three wheels simultaneously in the case of a conventional landing gear-equipped aircraft, commonly referred to as a "taildragger".[1][2][3][4] Light aircraft Edit In a light aircraft, with little crosswind, the ideal landing is when contact with the ground occurs as the forward speed is reduced to the point where there is no longer sufficient airspeed to remain aloft. The stall warning is often heard just before landing, indicating that this speed and altitude have been reached. The result is very light touch down.[4] Light aircraft landing situations, and the pilot skills required, can be divided into four types: Normal landings Crosswind landings - where a significant wind not aligned with the landing area is a factor Short field landings - where the length of the landing area is a limiting factor Soft and unprepared field landings - where the landing area is wet, soft or has ground obstacles such as furrows or ruts to contend with Large aircraft In large transport category (airliner) aircraft, pilots land the aircraft by "flying the airplane on to the runway." The airspeed and attitude of the plane are adjusted for landing. The airspeed is kept well above stall speed and at a constant rate of descent. A flare is performed just before landing, and the descent rate is significantly reduced, causing a light touch down. Upon touchdown, spoilers (sometimes called "lift dumpers") are deployed to dramatically reduce the lift and transfer the aircraft's weight to its wheels, where mechanical braking, such as an autobrake system, can take effect. Reverse thrust is used by many jet aircraft to help slow down just after touch-down, redirecting engine exhaust forward instead of back. Some propeller-driven airplanes also have this feature, where the blades of the propeller are re-angled to push air forward instead of back using the 'beta range'. Environmental factors Factors such as crosswind where the pilot will use a crab landing or a slip landing will cause pilots to land slightly faster and sometimes with different aircraft attitude to ensure a safe landing. Other factors affecting a particular landing might include: the plane size, wind, weight, runway length, obstacles, ground effects, weather, runway altitude, air temperature, air pressure, air traffic control, visibility, avionics and the overall situation. For example, landing a multi-engine turboprop military such as a C-130 Hercules, under fire in a grass field in a war zone, requires different skills and precautions than landing a single engine plane such as a Cessna 150 on a paved runway in uncontrolled airspace, which is different from landing an airliner such as an Airbus A380 at a major airport with air traffic control. Required Navigation Performance (RNP) is being used more and more. Rather than using radio beacons, the airplane uses GPS-navigation for landing using this technique. This translates into a much more fluid ascent, which results in decreased noise, and decreased fuel consumption. Parachutes A drag chute is deployed by Space Shuttle Endeavour during landing The term "landing" is also applied to people or objects descending to the ground using a parachute. Some consider these objects to be in a controlled descent instead of actually flying. Most parachutes work by capturing air, inducing enough drag that the falling object hits the ground at a relatively slow speed. There are many examples of parachutes in nature, including the seeds of a dandelion. On the other hand, modern ram-air parachutes are essentially inflatable wings that operate in a gliding flight mode. Parachutists execute a flare at landing, reducing or eliminating both downward and forward speed at touchdown, in order to avoid injury. Spacecraft Further information: Lander (spacecraft) Sometimes, a safe landing is accomplished by using multiple forms of lift, thrust (propulsive landing) and dampening systems. Both the Surveyor uncrewed lunar probe craft and the Apollo Lunar Module used a rocket deceleration system and landing gear to soft-land on the moon. Several Soviet rockets including the Soyuz spacecraft have used parachutes and airbag landing systems to dampen the landing on earth. In November 2015, Blue Origin's New Shepard became the first rocket to cross the Kármán line and land vertically back on Earth. In December 2015, SpaceX's Falcon 9 became the first launch vehicle on an orbital trajectory to successfully vertically-land and recover its first stage, although the landed first stage was on a sub-orbital trajectory.

Aircraft Edit
Aircraft usually land at an airport on a firm runway or helicopter landing pad, generally constructed of asphalt concrete, concrete, gravel or grass.
Progressive movement of the control column back will allow the aircraft to settle onto the runway at minimum speed, landing on its main wheels first in the case of a tricycle gear aircraft or on all three wheels simultaneously in the case of a conventional landing gear-equipped aircraft, commonly referred to as a "taildragger".[1][2][3][4]
Light aircraft Edit
In a light aircraft, with little crosswind, the ideal landing is when contact with the ground occurs as the forward speed is reduced to the point where there is no longer sufficient airspeed to remain aloft. The stall warning is often heard just before landing, indicating that this speed and altitude have been reached. The result is very light touch down.[4]
Light aircraft landing situations, and the pilot skills required, can be divided into four types:
Normal landings
Crosswind landings - where a significant wind not aligned with the landing area is a factor
Short field landings - where the length of the landing area is a limiting factor
Soft and unprepared field landings - where the landing area is wet, soft or has ground obstacles such as furrows or ruts to contend with
Large aircraft
In large transport category (airliner) aircraft, pilots land the aircraft by "flying the airplane on to the runway." The airspeed and attitude of the plane are adjusted for landing.
Environmental factors
Factors such as crosswind where the pilot will use a crab landing or a slip landing will cause pilots to land slightly faster and sometimes with different aircraft attitude to ensure a safe landing.
Parachutes
A drag chute is deployed by Space Shuttle Endeavour during landing
The term "landing" is also applied to people or objects descending to the ground using a parachute.
Spacecraft
Further information: Lander (spacecraft)
Sometimes, a safe landing is accomplished by using multiple forms of lift, thrust (propulsive landing) and dampening systems.

As someone who has their instrument checkride in a few weeks, these videos are the best! Gotta love the realistic passenger sound effects too!
so we just not going to talk about the fact that yogurt eaten over 18000 is actually called sky paste? no? okay.
I've gotta be one of the only people watching this while waiting to get on a plane, and I feel special.
I'm really glad "Sky Paste" doesn't actually return results.
So it was a Fun (not) Fact?...
Im loving these passenger voice drops ins youve done recently! Absolutely comical
I'm always amazed how professional the guys and gals in the ATCs are! Those are just other players right?
Yep
Yes on VATSIM
More than the real controllers. Had one be a bitch and have a fit on my last BNA CLT flight.
“Ooooh, I’m sorry I’m not perfect!”
Man, I really enjoyed this bro. I was really into it and an ad jumped on, loud AF, and scared the shit outta me. 🤣😂
I just connected through Charlotte the other day and I heartily recommend the Dirty Tots at Whisky River in Concourse E.
Me: "If my aircraft doesn't support holds and missed approach procedures, I ain't flying this thing in Vatsim"
FAP95: *hold my beer*
This is gonna be fun. Can't wait
AFP69: *biffs it short of the numbers and destroys his gear*
"Here, this is why I fucked up, and now I'll show you how to do it right."
*biffs it over the numbers and destroys his gear*
"Watch what?" perfect
All I got to say is ATC calls were so realistic. Good video
GroundPound69 really pounded the ground today.
Great ATC comm procedure. Love the screaming pax from the cabin after the landing and clearing the active. LOL
I miss hot air balloons and drunk ATCs. The new flight simulator seems tame.... and professional.
Give it time, eventually you'll likely see more of the less than sober ATC :D
Just wait… it will happen.
This ATC isn't apart of the flight simulator it's a 3rd party addon
He breaded the butter on that landing.
This always looks so cool, but I’ve never played this and would have no idea how to start lol.
I laughed so hard at the sounds from the passengers btw 😂
As long as you have FSX, MSFS, Xplane 11, you can create an account and install the correct stuff and start on GA stuff
Step 1: Install MSFS.
Step 2: ???
Step 3: find yourself 4 days sleep deprived as you fine tune your man cave 360⁰ motion rig, $5000 in peripherals and nobs you can't see when you put your Vr headset on.
@@equious8413 with automatic CBT device and inbuilt toilet and ass wiper
@@equious8413 ROFL! (step 2 would be do the tutorial over & over, then deciding that flying with a kb sucks puss - not your flying skillz)
@@danatmonst3594 that's exactly what i did lmaooooo
Nobody:
RyanAir: I see nothing wrong here
"Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing" 😆
super pro ATC always good to see. We don't have to talk about the landing...
I could never achieve this level of roleplay. It's all moonspeak to me 😂
it not rp
airforceproud and swiss001 are my stress relievers rn
Dont get me wrong, I love the random bullshit that is the normal multiplayer content, but i also love the realistic stuff when he does it, I wish i knew enough to do this sort of thing
(or owned the game but yknow)
Love this channel boss man “MOIST” 😂 I don’t like the word either. We need daily or weekly airforce proud 95 content please, still get a laugh 😂 out of funny multiplayer moments too. Even though I’ve watched them a few times ✈️ keep it up still here and watching.
You can always get a job with Spirit Airlines lol
Nothing better than a good Navyproud69 video.
I'm so interested in how this works exactly. Are the people your talking to playing air traffic control simulator?
Basically yes. It's a whole network of people who volunteer their time to provide faux ATC coverage for flight simmers. You use a third party application in conjunction with your flight sim software to connect to the network.
I'd love a video by you explaining the live ATC... who they are, how often do they do this, what do I need to learn to be a part of this, etc. Thank you for a great video from a former SSgt in the AF!
This is gonna be good
That NEO you're flying has the wrong engines. Great video as always man!
2:32 smile alert
I am sure Ryan Air would be happy to hire you.
BTW you landed just like I used my TCA sidestick the first time, so I considered myself did a good job😎
Would love to support but don't have US address. A patreon would be great.
BAKED ARMADILLO
1 armadillo (or more), removed from shell (reserve to make a musical instrument.)
Salt
Pepper
Chunks of apple & pineapple (about 1 1/2 c. each)
1/2 c. butter
An armadillo produces a lot of meat. The smaller ones are best for frying; the older ones need to be cooked slowly for a long time to ensure tenderness. After cutting carcass out of the shell, thoroughly wash meat. Salt and pepper armadillo. Stuff with chunks of apple and pineapple. Coat with butter and wrap in foil and place in roasting pan. Bake in a 325 degree oven until internal temperature reaches 180 degrees. Allow 30-45 minutes per pound. Allow 1/3 pound of meat per serving.
Thanks to this man, every time I'm in a plane and the wheels are just leaving the tarmac, I say to myself "rotate".
Ahhh, finally. My regular dose of cabin chaos. Brought to you by AirMonkey95.
Still waiting for the first HAB to show.
Pushback via reverse thrust?
Sorry sir, it has been out of protocol since the 80s.
C17 would like to say something...
@@RipRoaringGarage the A-10 would say BRRT you
I'm liking hearing more legit radio comms, that shit's cool af
Enjoyed the cabin riot after that landing
The ending almost had me pissing myself "(record scratch? Nose gear alarm??)... too damn perfect
9:44 was my favorite part. Tell me that's real audio from a flight full of unruly passengers!
Love the passenger audio, chuckled pretty hard when the passenger was talking about the cavity search
Well if being fired from American Airlines. . . actually that's a good thing. They are like SWIFT for trucking companies. That's my story and sticking to it.
However, I do feel bad for the cleaning crew that has to deal with all that "sky paste" that was left on the seats . . . and on the floor.
