Flying the Boeing 757-200 in Lockheed Martin Prepar3D V5 (Flight Simulator X on steroids) from the San Francisco Int'l Airport (KSFO) to San Diego Int'l (KSAN). Full air traffic control coverage from engine start to engine shutdown (minus LA). Mid-air incursions and mildly drunk pilots included. Apologies if the default scenery caused temporary blindness. I will fix that.

It’s not incorrect phraseology bud, in a non movement area you can say own risk or own discretion.

That's something you never want to hear from control.
Usually they say your discretion, which means the same thing
@@ccubsfan94 More or less, but most of the time it just means whenever you're comfortable. They'd say that even if the runway was completely empty with zero air traffic.

You mean to tell me that you took a "bathroom break" while you were lined up and waiting on an active runway???! That is EXTREMELY irresponsible and you could've ended up with hundreds of people DEAD due to your negligence. I can assure you that we will be contacting the FAA with this information and a formal report will be filed.

I don't know what the IFR clearence was tho, When requesting the clearence He did not say what atis information he had, he did not say what stand he was at. The ATC should of checked to make sure he had the correct information onboard and what stand he was at.

Ah yes, the 757. The Corvette of the skies! I loved working on them as a ramper but hated that they always broke down. The ones we had we just old and tired but they were great planes.

Honestly, the students at work could really stand to play some controlled MS flight sim. The IPs tell me that they get caught up with radio calls and the like all the time, and man this seems like a good way to practice if you're on the right server.

That approach into san diego is gnarly from the pasangers perspective. Also the drivers perspective on the 5 south.

I live in San Diego. If I remember right, SAN is considered to be one of the more difficult airports to land/takeoff, because of location, curfew and size.

Just spent $550 on accident for sim gear. Got the honeycomb Alpha then realized I need pedals and a throttle quadrant. All to replace my lovely $36 logitech joystick with all functionality built in
Have the good old CH Eclipse for years it got the lot. I can't afford the alpha and all that so the CH does me.
@@MorrisseysMonkey It was a tossup for me between the honeycomb and the CH with built in throttles. I think the 45º rotation limit to each side was what held me up. Of course it's things like that that make me perpetually broke lol
How is that for flying? So far I just stuck to the Logitech X56 which I got for other games, it's got pretty much everything built-in (absolutely love the ministick on it), just wondering if the yoke would be an upgrade compared to that.
Just got a thrustmaster sidestick. I almost feel legit however I'm mostly flying Boeings on Xplane.
I still use that stick!

Autothrottle's off, FD's a 'little' off center, VOR panel's in manual, EFIS is consolidated (for some reason), and heading hold is activated (lol wut). So many things that would scare me IRL lol. Love it!

I had a similar thing happen to me after I had landed in the GLF4 in MCO a couple weeks back. Some dude had filed as his shorthand callsign from KDFW, and he was so drunk and disoriented he was apparently arguing with KMCO delivery for the better part of an hour just to get clearance and wouldn't even respond with his correct callsign on freq. Amazing. I couldnt control my laughter.
Good lord. I don't have a good enough memory span to remember even half of that initial readback.

Hey Buddy, is this “Quality Wings” version of the 757-200? If not, it’s an easy plane to switch to from default, and it’s relatively cheap in price, beginner friendly with sids and stars and default gps navigation too if preferred. If you want the best bang for your buck on a good 757 with more realism and PBR textures, the Captain Sim 757 is good. Enjoy getting a laugh in with your vids. Glad your on P3d now. I was on fsx for over a decade. So glad I put that behind me. Lol

The reason he is in P3D and not FS2020 is because of the altitude reporting bug, where ATC has you at an incorrect altitude
