The wires in the frame were in a bundle like that already and you just trimmed them down to clean metal wire is what I'm understanding. Thank you for the help, I've had this problem for about three years and it was driving me mad trying to find the problem.
Brilliant thank you. Had my Mothers car over here in England, all restored, just these bloody lights...kept us delayed weeks. Sent this to the guy whose planning to fix it.
Interesting, thanks man was pretty curious about this for a while now. I do have a little water ingress from that area too so I believe you've pinpointed my issue. Good work my guy!
Has the "opended door" light on the dash came on when the interior lights hasn't worked? I have three phenomenon with my MK4. 1. I have lights in the car and in the back doors (the front door is not recognized, idk why) 2. I have no lights and when I push the button the "opened door" light comes on the dash. 3. When it is cold (especially in winter) sometimes the frond door lights work. Will your method solve these problems? Did your car do the same? Thanks! 😁
Yeah everything worked properly apart from the interior lights. Dash door open was working fine. I'd be plugging it in diagnostics and see if the front door modules are working. Also check block connection on both sides behind the kick panels. See if there is any corrosion.
Hi ... I have this issue with my MkIv GTi. Interior lights do work , but the door open ajar on the instrument cluster does not light up at all even when I turn the contact in.The lower lamps on the doors that light up when the doors open dont work, when I open the bonnet or trunk no door open light on the cluster. And also really weird ,the central locking on my key only fires up the hazards just when I unlock the car.I just checked the wires you mentioned they are fine,no corrosion nor anything.Checked the fuse 14 and replaced both 15AMP fuses on the Comfort Module. Please help me out here
hi, I have a problem with my '03 golf, rarely the lights will work right, most of the time when I'l try to use the lights, the door open warning will appear, any idea why?
My 1999 VW Bora interior lights mostly do not work. My OBDeleven program often shows a 00953 fault code which means that there is an Undefined switch condition of the interior light time limit. Would you help me solve this annoying issue?
@@gastyle9445 Yes, they work, but when they work they work only for a very short period of time - like 1-2 minutes or just few seconds and they turn off for a very long time! I might replace the comfort control module of my Bora.

Mine is doing the same thing but it keeps blowing the fuse over and over can you help me do you have anyone know why that same thing everything works when I put the fuse in but it blows it in like 10 seconds??
What a Legend you are, saved me a lot of time, 10 mins everything working sweet. 👊👊
Glad to hear. I thought it will help a lot of people. 👌

Yeah bud. They were corroded and broke. Skinned them back, joined them all together and good to go

will this work on seat leon mk1?
Great information. Thank you. 👍
God sent you mate good job thank you!!
Glad to help bud.
Hi. My car is a LHD so will the bundle of wires be on the opposite side?
I don't think so. Not sure if they swapped the wiring to the other side
Ok thank you for your quick reply. 👍
Did you figure out what side it's on? I have LHD with this issue as well @@janevans1835
Good video bro, keep it up. Will try this fix myself

I'd get it plugged in. See what diagnostic says. Could be door module. Or door wiring
do you have to remove the glove box to remove the plastic trims?
I'm not 100% sure to be honest. Just give it a go
thanks man!
Is this light on door now always on or? I am afraid because of the battery
*Sorry for bad English*
No, it should go off when you shut the doors or lock them.
@@gastyle9445 thanks

@@thedamntrain5481 Either your wiring is shorting out, door module is gone or the brains that control all the lights etc. It's hidden under the dash.
@@gastyle9445 also remote locking is not working, only if I use the manual key
@@thedamntrain5481 Then will be the brains under the dash or door modules. You need to put it on a computer and see exactly what's happening

Don't remember what codes I had. But check the wires in this location.
My Bora interior lights sometimes light up with just a single press of the key's remote unlock button or moving the open driver's door in and out
@@nikolaypetrovnikolov2717 Could be bad module that sits under the dash. Do your interior lights work or not at all?

What if the interior light is shining weak and only reading about 1V and when measuring from the fuse box only 2V?
@@0lz179 It should be 12v to be honest. And I never measured anything so wouldn't know. Something is loose definitely
@@gastyle9445 yeah, i know. Just wondering where to start looking for a broken cable or connection if the power doesnt reach even the fuse box.

Yes it did work before.
My central locking locks but doesnt unlock and the driver's door light doesn't work.
@@devlishlygood666 I'd probably say lock/unlock relays knackered. And regarding the light it's ganna be the wiring issue. Better off get it scanned.

Are these wires red with another color or just red?
There red and blue. Well red with a blue strip

Because it's shorting out somwhere.
