This entry and examination is a quest for excellence with strict requirements, much like any other certification in any other field. Nearly all entries are lovely work, but the purpose of this endeavor is to reach a point of excellence...so why all the hate in these comments? The judging is fair and equal to the level of artistry the entrants are striving to obtain. The hateful comments only show the ignorance about the subject of the writers, not any resemblance of support! I have entered four times and cherished my critique every time. Each day that I paint and each time I try for this certification, I get better because these artists who are judging care enough to teach me instead of sugar coating and leading me on!

So....I should just chop off my fingers and quit painting immediately. How thoroughly depressing. All joy of painting progression just flew away.
