At 00:16 yup that's why I got my C43 over a 340i or S5. Too bad the one in this vid doesn't have the digital cluster, that really makes the interior more modern. Also, if you hold a paddle and then start the car up, it will do some cracks and pops, this is the loudest you can get the exhaust to due to the limiter when stopped. If you want the fastest 0-60mph time, you need to have the engine in Dynamic, traction control completely off (not just Sport traction), suspension in Comfort, brake boost to around 1900rpm and let go. The stupid Sport+ mode unfortunately does not yield the fastest 0-60 time. It sets engine to Dynamic (which is good), but it sets traction to Sport which is not completely off and will cut off power sometimes and prevent brake boosting, it sets suspension to Sport+ which introduces the artificial hard shift which FEELS nice but actually slows the car down a bit. Good thing there is an Individual mode where I can set what I've said up there but I never use Sport+ mode when I want to go fast. Also, yes, leave it in automatic mode lol. Manual mode is what you want when you want control on the tracks or around twisty back roads to stay in the correct gear, but that's about all it's good for. I actually think a Veloster N or a Civic Type R will offer more sporty driving if you're more on the hardcore enthusiast side. At least those cars are cheaper, but they're definitely not luxury.
I did start it with the paddle held! But thank you for your input regarding what mode to get the best launch in... I don't have the car anymore, but I believe you! It's a fun car for what it is, that's forsure!
Nice comment, will try this on my 22 c43. Appreciate the insight. I agree on the digital dashboard, love it. And the drive mode toggles are also pretty essential
Just gotta say, as always, you are a natural at reviewing and just talking to us about these automobiles. You are smooth, nuanced and just gifted at speaking and conveying your message. Your experience with cars is evident and you analyze them so well. Thanks for the time you spend teaching us about the intricacies of these German coupes & sedans ! None of this is taken for granted by me.
Great reviews! - I recently purchased AMG C43 Coupe (w/6 cyl engine). Drives very exciting but my "hidden" worry is its future reliability. Is it better than BMW and Audi S5? That's all I want to know...

Doing my research binge watching all the m340i and c43 videos I can find to figure out which one interests me the most to go out and buy, and the thing that stands out the most apart from how the c43 sounds way better, is that everyone gets this uncontrollable smile on their face when driving the 340i that just isn’t there with the c43
Just recently test drove 2021 c43 and it ABSOLUTELY does bog 1000% My 2011 camaro is technically slower yet felt smoother I was so disappointed. Going to try to test drive a m440i next and then make my decision. Id get an M4 Comp but Im trying to make this a daily @@Reoniz
If it wasn’t an AMG they wouldn’t have put an AMG badge on it LOL. Being an AMG car has more to do than having a motor built by 1 person. Would you say the new AMG ONE isn’t a real AMG? That vehicles engine isn’t built by 1 person. Things that make you go hmmm. 🤔
I'm not sure about the project one... but the reason why hand-built motors matter with AMG's, aside from brand dilution -- is because "one man, one engine" means that every vehicles motor is a work of art This is a hell of a sporty coupe, no doubt, but a work of art it is not.
@@Reoniz is more of an amg than the m340i is a M car. The c43 with a simple ecu tune stacked with a jb4 does 0-60 in 3.1-3.3 seconds it would leave the m340i in the dead

What's your guys pick of the bunch??
Bro if we talking about the new bmw then I’m gonna pick the Merc
@@Vuyi7 haha fair... looks kinda kill the new 4 series :/ although I don't mind the proper M's too much

The amg is in another class … that bmw is fake m car

Haha I try whipping out the SAT vocab when I can 🤧👍
All the C43 needs is the night package with some amg black rims and boom 💥
Great video. Trying to get a c43 sedan and this was super informative
I like real gauges like your instead of all digital. Makes it look more retro.
I hear ya! Sometimes a good ole analog gauge cluster is all you need!
@Panda Whisperer some beg to differ
Great review!
Thank you!!

Was this filmed in palos verdes? I recognize the area lol
Would you say a 2019-2021 Mercedes c43 amg is better than a 2018-2021 440i gram coupe or a 2018 340i?
Why does the car bog like that ? Was that in manual mode ? I haven’t seen other videos where it does that
If you put the car in "Sport +" and you don't fully mash it, it gets confused and bogs
Just recently test drove 2021

So when you leave it auotmatic can you still use the paddles at all? Or do you just totally leave them alone in automatic.
Personally I leave em alone in full auto, but you can still use em to force the gear change
