This gentleman hails from the southern part of the southern south.
Northeast Tennessee best part of the South.
This guy just seems like such a good dude. God willing this truck will last another 300k.
Sounds like my brother inlaw
Technically that's Texas. But I think your talking about South Carolina or Georgia.
Hey Sullivan county resident! Truck looks great
That truck’s a beauty. Previous owner clearly took good care of it.
You cannot beat a 7.3 with it's reliability......one of the best diesels ever made
my dad has one with over 500k miles. He doesnt take care of it but it doesnt stop. Motor and trans have never been touched
I had a 99 and it was running strong when I sold it with 850,000 miles on it only big thing it needed was the tranny rebuild which I added an Xtra auxiliary tranny cooler.. I did an airmaxxx max tow air ride kit with the ultra quiet big 580 compressor which is like $130 and its a 200psi 100% duty cycle compressor plus I put a 3 gallon 5 port air tank that was like $40 & it allowed me to put an air hose quick disconnect on the back bumper which I ran air tools & an air jack with..was by far my favorite super duty & the guy I sold it to a year and a half ago to is still driving it daily
@@brandontormaschy6977 a 7.3 is more reliable than a common rail cummins. Common rail cummins are prone to injector failure which can lead to piston failure. 7.3s have no major fail points like that. Plus the Ford truck itself is no doubt superior. Granted, the cummins has more power
@@brandontormaschy6977 wdym???
5.9 Cummins. Lasted over 20 years. How long did the 7.3 stay in production for. Inline design lasts longer and makes more torque. That's why semis only run straight 6's anymore. V8 naturally don't last as long because of gravity but unless you have common sence you'll never figure that one out. On paper the v8 made more power but in the mountains loaded heavey the inline runs away. 7.3 good motor but not the best diesel engine ever. In all actuality its the 5.9 12 valve p-pump Cummins. Don't believe it look at every application the motor was in. Pickups to heavy duty dump trucks with air breaks to stationary motors hooked up for pumping water all day and night with out ever shutting off unless they run out of fuel. Do your own research i encourage it.
Being from the midwest, this is a great white buffalo. NO RUST!
7.3 Powerstroke a monster i tow all over the desert including death valley never evr let me stranded always brought me back home💯💯💯 these were 7 days a week non stop over 16+ hour drives
I miss my ol 00 7.3 just like yours but with a 5 speed.
You have a rare girl with that few miles!
I recently took over ownership of my grandfather's 1999 7.3L, just about to crack 115k on it. I love seeing others in this great of shape like the one my grandfather has given to me. Makes you appreciate it all the more
You sure it had a 5 speed? Because they went to a 6 speed in 1999
Ats_Coby _ well yes 6 speed 5 plus granny gear.
Sounds a bit like Hank Hill from king of the Hill
Almost same truck too.
Not really, he sounds much more Appalachian and less Texan
I wish so much that TFL own a 7.3 diesel.. but a 99-2000 , and make it a super cheap tow truck.. and compare it to new trucks...
I second that idea, I would love to see that content!
I third this idea!!
Best diesel ever put in a pickup
I absolutely love the look of that truck! And buddy's manner of description was genuine and interesting to listen to. A great vid!
Best diesels ever made:
1st 7.3 PowerStroke
2nd 5.9 Cummins
3rd 6.6 Duramax
4th 6.7 PowerStroke
This guy sounds like he suits this truck
150k miles? It is just now breaking in. Love these old 7.3 Powerstrokes.
For a truck that’s old enough to buy alcohol, it’s in pretty good shape. Both owners (all owners) seemed to have taken care of it!!
lmao old enough to buy alcohol 🤣 mine will be in 2 years 🤣
My '00 has 420k on the clock... Still running strong!
Bought a 350 7.3 two days ago manual. Love it
Gotta love a ride that has been maintained in absolutely wonderful condition. It looks like it just rolled off the sales floor.
My dad has the same truck. He has a 1999 with 280k, original engine second transmission. It's starting to have lots of issues won't start when cold, leaking oil, multiple electrical switches not working. All in all its been a great truck and it's done a lot of towing. Never once has it left him stranded.
Get a new starter and good batteries. Makes a world of difference.
Can’t never go wrong with a 7.3 power stroke they are definitely one of the coolest sounding diesels not the most powerful but definitely a damn well built Diesel engine
I agree at idle the 7.3 sounds sweet but moving the 6.0 has that insane whistle
Oh my goodness I’m so proud of my dad!!!!
ashli rust he is ur dad??
If that’s you in the pic your pretty. But i could be your dad if need be 😂🤦♂️👍🏼
Frankie Desam what is wrong with you man 🤦♂️
Calvin Nelson nothing why ??
Frankie Desam lol wtf this comment section went bad 😂😂
That accent sounds sophisticated. Y’all should go through a drive through with him. It sounds like a mixture between Hank Hill and Karl from Sling Blade. Proud of you daddy!
Best engine navistar built. Long live the 7.3s!
Another beautiful well cared-for 7.🌲 from Tennessee! Keep enjoying the truck and God bless!
Best engine truck combination ever made and any company 7 3 combo is the best engine ever made
Great looking truck, very clean. You are so right about the air bags they make a huge improvement on the ride when towing, I also have a F-250 and now a F-350 dually because like you I'm towing a 10K 5th wheel that actually put my truck over GVWR. These truck will run for ever and with the excellent care you are taking care of it, it will outlast us. Great video:-)
Does this guy have a propane business?
Propane and Propane accessories LOL. Hope you enjoyed the video.
I have a 2001 F250 7.3 as well with the same cab and 8' bed with 147k miles on it and love it too, glad to see more 7.3's out there still running strong
You did a great job cleaning up the truck and giving us a tour. That was fun. I really like the way you talk too! Being from Texas originally it reminded me of home.
Always like seeing clean 7.3’s!
My 99 still running strong most reliable vehicle I’ve ever had
What a sweet truck that thing barely has any miles on it it’ll serve you well for a long time
I love how he says tow yo instead of toyo
You should install a pulley somewhere in your garage to pull that hitch out of the back so you don’t throw your back out.
Have a 99 f250 as well for my daily driver and my tow rig, one of the best trucks I’ve ever owned
I will be honest. The best upgrade I did on my 2000 was to order mirrors from the next generation and install those. The blind spot mirrors are much bigger and make driving much more safe for me.
I agree, got a January 2000 sd,damn good truck.
That truck looks very clean for a '99..thanks for showing..and your part of the country looks amazing...may you get many more years out of your baby.
Great presentation, he sure knows and loves his truck.
Super clean!!!
I was shopping for new trucks this morning. You inspired me to keep my 2007 F150. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful truck and my lord, that accent is GOLD!
Beautiful truck, my wife and I bought our first 01 powerstroke diesel last year, we haul multi tons every day, we are going to buy a second one in a few months, can't go wrong with the best diesel ever made, love the white paint and air ride, proud to be part of the family, and I'm glad that you're wife and all are ok after the accident, well done in the video, thank you
Awesome truck! My family has the same model but it’s a 2002 with 225K miles. Still going strong.
Well maintained truck and great upgrades! Good stuff.
Mine is a 99 with 475 k and still going love it,its f350 crew cab dually
Sold my 99 with the 7.3. It had 250,000 on it. Too bad I live in the rust belt. Body was falling off else I would still have it.
You’d be hard pressed to find a 99 in that good of shape! I’d be proud of it!!! Beautiful truck👍👍👍 any woman help you put on airbags is definitely a keeper!!!
Wow!!! My Dad had that same truck...he bought his in May of 98'...it was an all new model at that time..his had the big diesel...he paid I think $45.000new...thats Canadian prices...used to pull 5th wheel trailers with it...it was a next year's model truck.
These videos with higher mileage customer older trucks are my favorite! Thanks TFL!
"Higher mileage"??!!...that's LOW mileage for a 21 yr. old vehicle nowadays!!
Paul Allison yeah I know but I meant in general, older trucks with higher mileage vehicles are fun to watch.
This is outstanding! Great detail.
sweet truck man . defiantly taken good care of this truck
my dad has exact same truck. Has over 500k miles on it. Motor and trans have never been taken apart. He also has the same problem with the suicide doors. Ford should have stayed with International.
I also have a 99 Super Duty with the 5.4 V8. It has been a great truck. I've done Denver to Moab about 20 times with small trailers, never a problem. Thinking about a new Ram, but it's hard to spend that much when the Ford is still running so good.
iconic design, enjoy it in good health
Mohammed Al-R what’s ironic? I am just curious
@@Inferno45 Uhmm...he *CLEARLY* typed/said "iconic" not ironic!!🙄😒
Paul Allison his comment was different 6 days ago he must of have edited it. I swear it said “Ironic” so i got confused 😂😂
@@Inferno45 Nope...he didn't edit it...if he would've it would be showin' that he had! (same as it shows up that you had edited yours!)
Paul Allison jeese man i must have read it wrong the first time......😂😂 cut me some slack
You guys should do a video on an old reliable 7.3 going up Ike Gauntlet...you'd be surprised how reliable and sturdy it is after over 20 years
Do it, TFL!
Yes! I'd love to see that
It should do pretty good, I go up a nice steep grade from the city up to my valley after picking up a pallet of wood pellets and I don't even have to downshift at 65-70. Mines a 2000 with the ZF6 transmission.
7.3 F250 and a 5.7 Tundra, this gentleman knows how to pick the ones that last! Nice video, beautiful truck!
Great video, the truck looks great.. I also have a 99’ 7.3L.. not a power house but crazy reliable. 226k and going strong. 👍👍
You need to get driving. I got a 07’ 6.0 with 475,000 miles and still going strong. 18-21mpg all the time.
Your Super Duty looks like it’s brand new on the outside and very clean on the inside. Luckily the door lock switch is $20.00 and takes literally five minutes to replace. I went to the Seat shop on line and bought 2 new bottom front seat covers and replaced them. They have everything you need and they have a great set of do it yourself videos. Came out awesome. Your 99’ is one of the finest examples I’ve seen! Thanks for showing it.😊
This dude is awesome. Sweet truck
In the first five second I knew this guy was TENNESSEE BOY!!!!!!!
That is a very nice looking truck. Not a fan of Ford, but I have always liked the 7.3 power stroroke.
Thanks for the frank & clear review.
Joy to watch and hear all the details. Mine is an 08 6.4 xlt, love it.
I’m from northern Canada and bought this same model this week, I speak very differently than this man but equally love this truck for me and my family haha
Thet's one beautiful truck!
This truck is Awesome!!! I really appreciate this dude.
I got a 02 7.3 super duty, it has 364,000 on it and is still strong, i get 19 mpg. These trucks are beasts, but the oil leaks are ongoing.
I have a 99.5 Ford F-250 with the 7.3 power stroke and the zf-6 transmission all original never tuned pa run all it’s life, currently at 426,000miles. I am the second owner the only thing that has failed on my truck is the glow plug circuit in the pcm. Hopefully many more miles to go with my rig
Change the tranny fluid, it will last forever.
Great video sir very honest and to the point, very nice looking truck as well.
Cool video! My dad bought this exact truck combo (except XLT) brand new in the spring of 1998. He put 100k miles on and I put 93K miles on it before I sold it with 193k mi. I miss the sound of that 7.3 powerstroke crank up on a cold morning.
Great truck. 150K. Almost broke in.
You have a very nice looking truck sir great honest video as well.
Great video. Great camera work.
Awesome truck! I'd be proud to own it
I'm a chevy guy, but those fords are good looking! I'm thinking about getting one.
Beautiful example for one of these, easily one of the best trucks ever made!
Nice truck man
Nice truck and a very very thorough walk-through
I have 2 1999 F350's with the 7.3. One is a SRW with a utility body which I added a lift gate, the other is a DRW 4WD with an aluminum flatbed I use for hot shot trucking. The best thing you had done to your truck is the 4 inch turbo back exhaust. Look at my profile...I just posted a video of installing the 6.0 transmission cooler on my truck. I had it on my previous truck which I wrecked. My trailer is 6K and I haul up to 10K on it...all in the southeast so the extra cooling really helps, especially in Atlanta hurry-up-an-wait traffic. Love these 99's!
Awesome truck
Great video. Love my 02' 7.3 SDCC also.
I love this truck man
Love the rig 😍
Can I do a review of my dad's truck. Same year lariat with nice paint and rare vehicle specs. 130k miles and looks brand new. Thanks for this one tfl!
Looks like both owners have been taking very good care of that truck. I have to admit, those 7.3 Power Stroke engines are pretty reliable.
absolutely sweet!
These trucks smell amazing. My dad had a 2002 ford f150 king ranch and the interior smelled amazing. Kind of weird i know 😂
Shoot man that's one clean truck 🤘🏼
Nice truck bro!! Love these trucks
Fun video! I’m thinking of getting an older F-250 for my next truck.
What a gentleman.
Very nice truck 👍
Absolutely beautiful truck
Nice truck sir!
What a beautiful truck 🤩
Nice looking truck. 7.3s and 6.0s were some great engines.
I just bought a 1999 f250. 7.3 diesel legend
Hey fellow TN PERSON! I’m from Greene county, nice truck man!
Truck looks beautiful
Shoot man I tell ye what. My Silveraydo with a foe boat main tree fitty would drag that thang thru ye naybors hay fill. That right dare is a fact! Just messing with buddy. I like your video. We need to get together soon! That is if you don’t forget us little people when ye get good n famous!
Knew he was a southern boy. TN plate confirmed it. Lol. Rear door cables are cheap easy fix. Get the aluminum replacement ends for the cables. My kid did a door in 30 minutes. These trucks are 21 years old. Amazing machines they are.
Nice truck!
