And got the wireless foot pedal with it. Couldn't go back to corded foot pedal after having the wifi foot pedal on my 280. I needed to upgrade so I can do thicker aluminum! ½ at least i needed. This 400 will do ⅝" 💪
I purchased this same welder (280DX Runner) back in 2014 after it recently came out. My first TIG ever, never TIG'd in my life prior. Love it! Buy once, cry once. One feature I reallly like is the updatable software. That came in very handy when Miller intruduced the option to have the water pump turn back off after a set amount of time after the torch arch is terminated, that way it isn't just making noise in the background between welds. Looking forward to future builds on your channel, Big Boost!
@@ALBERTOBIGBOOST If yours isn't already updated you can go to Miller's website and look for their software updates for the 280DX. Follow how to download to a micro SD card and update the welder. You might want to wander through the Tech Menu on the machine and see if it just needs to be turned on first.

I have 3k in a htp 221 tig. Non water cooled. Would be 3500 with. But its an amazing machine for the money. Didn't want to go miller because of the price. You can get food tig units under 1000 tho
@@charlesmackiewicz , now I see why getting things welded is expensive other than the metal being pricey too. I never know because I can't weld. thanks for the info
Instead of taping that red wire down the side, you could have just clipped it flush with the cable jacket and not have anything hanging out of your plug
I built the new shop with the help of many sponsors and people whole helped me get it together. I made the videos of the process of how it all has come together. With a properly set up shop I can create better than ever before content. Don’t worry the next car video is scheduled for 11:30am tomorrow morning 😬
Alberto BIGBOOST i understand that, but feature, zoom in on company logos when using there products, explain the product you’re using while working on your cars, it’s just overkill getting a 17 min infomercial and makes us feel like the channel is going a different way
hoppy1028 I see your point of view. Another thing I did with this video is to show how to set up a machine that is used for working on cars. There is a lot of ground to cover on welding and figured this type of video would be quite educational for car people or mechanics who are getting into welding. Same as with the cars I showed how to assemble and basic setup of the equipment 🙂
@@ALBERTOBIGBOOST ah ok, a couple of videos ago when you got the new shop you said you was continuing working there . Shame you left Adam that was a huge mistake. Bye
Dont show how not to do electrical stuff when you dont know what you are doing. The ground wire in the wall plug need to always be the longest cabel and the otherones nees to be shorter, so if something happens the ground is the last one to come lose.
It looked like it was the longer of the wires based on what you are saying. He terminated the plug nice and tidy. How would you have done it differently?

You should swap your pedal bracket to the other side , this will clean a bit in the front ! Lmk what you think
I was thinking the same thing, why have the hose and pedal wire cross on the front of the machine when the brackets can be swapped so easily.
Glad you are doing well man. You should Weld something small and super cool and do a giveaway.
this is an excellent suggestion. I love the Idea :) now what to make? hmmm
Alberto BIGBOOST Maybe a mini turbo or a keychain. Something technical to show off your skills. Plus it’s a great way to interact with your audience.
mje19D I think I might just got the right thing💪
When welding titnium do you use cooling shoe?
