  • In this video I weld out some 8" sanitary tubing with my Lincoln SAE 300. I go through settings and prep on the pipe / tubing

That's a good video with a Great lesson! Having a plain Jane hood as a backup with you on every job is an easy bail-out for a malfunctioning hood. And those fixed shades seem unbelievable.

Thanks, Yes I was really impressed and would actually spend my money on them.

With the amount of pipe you seemingly weld Zach, I would think you'd be sitting on a few traditional pipe bevelers?

I had a couple of mathey durmans but sold them because I pretty much only do stainless, I have looked at some air ones from tritool but not had a job that would have made it necessary

For the hood thing could you flashlight the hood and see if it darkens. Less flashy thingy.

    Zack!
Thank you very much for all of your input!
Will the RIDGID beveling machine work on pipe that will not roll on rollers?
What size pipe will it do?
Do you like the 300HE better than the Vantage you had that the rats got into?
( I recently had a squirl get into my main breaker panel )
Thank you again for your time and sharing your skills :)

Hey Zach. Been watching your videos for a long time. Awhile back i saw that you had a mini iron worker/hole punch. Just wondering if by chance you know the name of that tool or what im talking about? Thx

haven't made it thorugh the video yet, but a 3m cubitron sanding disc would have been WAY faster than that fancy rigid beveler, and cheaper, haha

How did you get into welding sanitary pipe? I remember when you bought that little miller 8 horsepower to weld that piece of farm equipment. I had one like that but now I have a Miller Bobcat that I am restoring and I would like to get into sanitary pipe installations. Thank you my friend and I missed seeing your awesome shop. I am in Pennsylvania and I know there are lots of places being built out here. Did you take a welding course or did you teach yourself?

You have been around a while if you remember that old one. I got into it today by accident. I was fixing a bunch of hand rails and staircases and got a call out of the blue one day. I got on UA-cam and watched a couple tips and tricks videos and pulled the job off. It was for a big company and they just kept calling and now that's about all I do. I just got a bobcat 250 for 1200 bucks. It's pretty nice little machine.

@@DarlingtonFarm I am astounded at how well you are doing!! Thank you for explaining to me. I am so happy that I can probably learn this myself. I am a chemical engineer by education but I am sick of working the people in the industry so I am looking to change. Thanks again.

What’s the best way to cut larger tubing when you can’t use a fisher saw or saw blocks ?

I've been using those exact pipe cut saws. The last pipe welding video I put up I talked about using it. They work good but are spendy per cut. They have one make for stainless that I'd like to try but I got the one I have for cheap off eBay
