- Originally built in 1853, the building was named Shiloh Chapel and used for religious purposes.
In 1921 the building was sold to The Miners welfare for a sum of £1600. In the meantime the square sectioned tower which was mounted by a slated, four sided spire was modified. The spire was removed and a flat roof was constructed at eave level.
The final chapter for this building was in 1987 when it become Charbonniers nightclub. Sadly in 1992 the building was severely damaged in a fire which gutted the main hall.
