I've been dealing with SI joint pain since I was 16 or 17 years old. I went 8 years in the army dealing with it. Some days it can be very debilitating. If I choose to walk I sometimes have to sit down, let things relax and continue. Other days I am forced to power through it while it feels like there is a steak knife lodged into my lower back.
Just started PT for my hips two weeks ago. Yesterday I randomly mentioned "my wrist hurts some times". My therapist asked some questions, applied some pressure, and within 10 minutes my pain was gone and my flexibility totally restored. PT is freaking magic.

Going to give this a go. Been having pain in same region for a year or so now. Its quite low level pain mostly it feels like I have a click that needs doing. Like a tension that doesnt go away.
I now wrap a band around my right femur with a ton of tension to mobilize the joint every time before I squat and the weight has felt much lighter and safer on my back.
man I agree with these people you can save my life I'm an amputee and ever since I got a new prosthesis I can't hardly walk very far I used to walk miles and now my hip hurts after about one mile
I have the same condition, though in the opposite, left, SI joint, giving me hip shift to the right and pain to the left. I believe the hip shift came as a result of an earlier torn left abductor. Will try these remedies and see if they help.
So, her problem was muscle based rather than dislocation of the sacrum from the pelvis. With the chiropractic adjustments that he showed in this video, you see the chiro doing the basic spine twisting stretch. That does give a jolt to the sacrum to move it, but it does not affect the actual position of the sacrum. If your sacrum is dislocated, it’s either stuck in a position and not moving properly, or you have a leg length difference. That’s probably why the other places didn’t work for her because her problem wasn’t structural, it was just muscles. Lots of PT’s and especially chiros don’t do well with finding muscle imbalance. Also, if you have a leg length difference, it’s either that your one leg is anatomically longer than the other or your pelvis is out of alignment.
That is probably because the first two are quacks and not medical professionals but pseudoscience manipulators, and the doctor was likely not trained as a physical therapist and did not have the specialized knowledge. Any time you are going to go to a chiropractor or acupuncture salesman, go see an actual physical therapist
I had the same problem and it was a misaligned sacroiliac joint (not sciatica) physical therapist fixed it in minutes by putting a roller under the opposite side and letting the inflamed side relax down. Heard a gentle thump when it went back in place and I was good as new other than having to strengthen muscles which had grown weak from incorrect alignment.
I don't have the range of motion in my shoulders to do barbell squats. I can only do dumbell squats. I do have the SI issue. Started working the home PT for it.
