All 6 friends characters were just as important as each other but it has to be said chandler had that little bit extra if you think about it the writers were really mean to him....he had the divorce parents drag queen mom everyone thinking he's gay the self confidence issues the commitment issues being the but of the jokes usually this type of character would be a great supprti g role but in the end chandler was actually more of a star then the others if you take him away then it all falls apart . And he owned every joke he literally could no BE any more funnier. May he rest in peace
They WERE really mean to him. I am glad others noticed this too. They even made his name (his first name, his last name and later his middle name) a joke. Also I have noticed that in a lot of American main stream media, when writers don't like a character that much, one of the rather common things they do about/to the character is have them dislike or be wary of dogs. It's apparently their signal to the (American?) audience that the character has something wrong with them and is not supposed to be loved/trusted/respected that much, and that's exactly what they did to Chandler too in one of the episodes. The whole thing is so bizarre. Anyway, RIP Mathew Perry. His charming portrayal of Chandler made this character a memorable one that will be cherished for years to come.
I'm no fan of Netflix but this is not Netflix's fault. Warner Bros. didn't bother re-editing the EXTRA footage in HD so everyone got the ORIGINAL BROADCAST version. It's not just Netflix.
