@@sarahbelle81 the clicking sound just means that the stabs are very poorly lubed or are of poor quality. Since its only meant to be for support for longer keys, you don’t really want to hear your stabs when you want to have a clear sound of your switches, at least thats how I see it
@@sarahbelle81 you can get a much better clicky sound with some Kailh Box Jade switches rather than some stock spacebar stabilizers. Look up a sound test trust me they sound way better.

When you’re paid Salary and have a good work life balance, you end up choosing the one you like best. I used to care about having the fastest computer and quickest WiFi etc. Now at my job a PC is a PC.

I see many people complaining about the drop alt stabs but with decent modding there is no difference between them and the durocks. Maybe I was lucky with mine...
Some dude in our Discord was talking about how all our keyboards probably suck and his was god-tier. It was a Massdrop ALT with gourmet keycaps. I'd never heard of a Massdrop or gourmet keycaps, so I started researching and thought to myself "Wow, this keyboard must be really good." I've not heard 1 positive thing about it since I started looking for new keyboards. Can't wait for the screaming that will ensure later when I tell him of these findings.
Should mod all the stabs equally and show the comparison everyone already knows the drop stabs are shit stock (and even after extensive modding they still are sub par)

silent alpacas are imo the best silent swtich, you should try them out. I think the manufacturer changed the colors and is now calling them durock dolphin switches but they are basically the same thing.

i once had a keyboard that was somehow even worse than that, and as you can probably guess it had knock-off blue switches. i donated that keyboard because i tried spray lubing it and then lost some keycaps. good times.
After watching all these custom keyboards and sounds I am starting to hate my first mechanical keyboard(HyperX Alloy Cherry reds) and I think I am due for an awesome sounding custom keyboard upgrade.
You can mod your board and make it sound a lot better. Things like lubing your switches and stabs can really help. Adding foam to the case, tape to the pcb can also help. I hope this helps, there are plenty of keyboard mods out there!
The reason why the “clicks” stabs are bad is because you didn’t tune them not because they are bad most stabs straight away are bad unless they did a good job lubing them
