If the insertion bone moves toward the origination bone, how does it work with longissimus thoracis, that originates at L1-L5, and iliocostalis lumborum, that inserts at L1-L4? How are these muscles not in conflict when we move? Also, I assume that, even though the three muscles' three components are described separately for the purposes of anatomy, there is no way to move these muscles independently of one another. Can you talk about how these muscles work during movement? Thank you!
