i just saw all your three videos i.e. Deep, Deep mucles of the back, A Vertebrae and Erector Spinae (back mucles) they are so well connected explaining the most important parts of Vertebral column and back muscle anatomy.. the way you explained the deepest muscles with those wires.. i was really awstruck at that moment.. you are my favourite anatomy teacher till now.. loads of respect for you sir.. :)
I am very grateful for your videos and have watched many of them because they are so useful. Many anatomy videos are boring and dry but yours are always lively and interesting. I especially like this one because this muscle group does not usually get talked about in such detail. It is good to be reminded of the high spindle count in these muscles and their important proprioceptive role. The body is wonderfully complex and your style of breaking it down into carefully explained detail and then gradually building up the picture of interconnected complexity is a rare gift. Thank you!
Dude, you are just the absolute best. Love the way you transmit your knowledge unpretetiusly and with good vibes... Thanks a lot for your time and your hard work. Cheers!
Just started a degree in Occupational Therapy and was overwhelmed by the anatomy side of it. I'm definitely a visual learner, as are a lot of my peers. I'll be telling them to check you out (ooh saucy!). You're a great teacher. Clear and simply explained for such a substantial topic. If you ever come to Ireland, we'll buy you a pint! Thank you.
Massage Therapy student here, studying for my Anatomy final! Thank you so much for your videos, they are helping me stay focused and helping me review these sometimes confusing muscles. The high spindle count in the transversospinalis muscles makes so much sense.
Physical Therapy student, honestly your videos and the way you explain is beyond amazing. It's very simple and precise with all the needed information. Thank you so much for the effort and energy spent in all your videos!! And using pipe cleansers here made it SO PERFECT
oh my goodness.I really had so much problems with this part but you make it just as simple as possible to learn. thanks for sharing your knowledge to us. you are amazing sir.
Absolutely the best, bar none. Sam is the man. A complete understanding and thorough explanation of the musculature of the human body. I haven't even gotten in to his other areas of expertise...can't wait, I'm hooked!
you always simplify complicated stuffs ❤️ love the way how you used those colorful pipes just to make things clear for us 😍 Your dedication level is damn high 👍🏻👍🏻 Thank you so much for making anatomy easier 🤗
Thank you for today's medical lecture once again. I sincerely appreciate the valuable knowledge and insights you shared with us. Your expertise and dedication in delivering the information were truly commendable. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from you, and I believe this lecture has been beneficial in enhancing our understanding of medical concepts and practices. Looking forward to the next lecture and further expanding our medical knowledge together.
I'm so happy on this first day of the year to at last understand the structures of the deep, deeper and deepest back muscles, even if I'm not taking any exams. I'm just passionate about learning how our body works (and not only how my car works). Can't stop being grateful 😊
Trying to learn all my anatomy for my upcoming pilates certification..not so easy at age 60 but I have to say..watching your videos multiple times is totally fun..learning so much ...Love it.
This was such an enlightening video. I recently suffered a skateboarding injury where my lower spine went into excruciating pain, spasming frequently, it was (still is!) quite debilitating. After watching this and another video of yours, and doing a few twisting/stretching diagnostics on myself, I've been able to pinpoint which muscles are causing me trouble. With this I can join the dots with the skateboarding motion that caused the trauma, rehabilitate the problematic muscles, and adjust my skating routine until I regain full health. I thank you immensely, the information you're sharing with the world is top knotch and deeply appreciated
I have been looking at anatomy videos about the back for the past month because I enjoy proper deadlift exercise and yoga and want to have a healthy back. It seems to me that an understanding of the mechanics of the back can only be helpful in selecting and executing exercise. This video and the preceding one really hit the mark. I feel like I now know what is going on back there. Thank you.
You're the most super best greatest teacher. Hats off to you. Why didn't I found you before ? Thank you so very much for your videos. I will share with my friends.
Sam, i can’t believe that u’ve been making these vidros so constantly these yrs . I started to watch your lower limb videos (all of them!) because i run and it’s for my running’s sake as I am interested in knowing more abt what my legs are made of and why and how i feel all these feelings in my post and pre training time. But now i’ve started to learn from other of your videos to know more abt different parts of our body. Some for massaging my finace by knowing the muscles groups 😂 some for my own curiosity since I’m doing general fitness training too so areas like abs is also my area of interest❤ Enormous respect and gratitude for your teaching❤🎉 your students in your class is one of the most blissed bunch of youngsters in the world ! 🎉🎉🎉
I'm so grateful to have found your videos! I am a second year massage therapy student and I find that you give the most thorough and easy to understand explanations. Thank you so much! 😊
Thank you for this video, this was first time I really enjoy study this small muscles! And finally I understood! So once agin Thank you for your excellent job!
I find the back facinating, all those muscle groups that not many people realise are even there. I made mistakes and now I live in pain, so take care of your back, you only have 1. great video :)
Yoga. Pascimottanasana, janu sirsasana, prvitta janu sirsasana and balasana. Always counter afterwards with any back stretch (cobra, wheel, bridge etc.)
This Video is just great and it helps me a lot learning this. Everything is explained precisely and its still pretty entertaining, which is important if you dont want to go insane learning. Btw, this is probably the most spanish way to spell rotatores i have ever heard of :D. Thank you very much and greetings from germany
Hello Sam, I'd Just like to say Thankyou for your videos. I can't currently go to university, remaining focused, I want to stay ahead for when I do, I've watched you for years, This gives people who have a passion but due to circumstances can't access what they need. Thanks for that. Know in my heart anatomy has a place...….see what I did there!
Sam Webster Hatts off to your efforts sir.. you make superb.. infact intresting videos to help students to go through such difficult subject.. keep doing such great work.. :)
Thank you so much, Sam! I am learning academic drawing and especially these deep back muscles seemed a deep dark forest to me. Will pass now to your other videos! Thanks once more! :)
i got prolapsed disc at L3/4 about 18 months ago so i have to stretch whole bottom half of body every few hours 24/7. this helps to show what muscles are involved.
I think my back pain is due to one-sided problem with Transverse spinalis. I get a stabbing pain usually when partially flexing and twisting. I then do a side bend to the opposite side and it stretches, sometimes pops painlessly and releases. Don't know why it happens. I have a bulging disc at that spot too, but this is always relieved by a stretch every time
Thank you Sir now i can explain the source of my lumbar pain from the accident. My question would be what kinds of exercise do we do to strengthen these Deep muscles because no one seems to get it right in physical therapy
i think my pain comes from Erector spinae(Lower back are that bulge`s when bending forward) it hurts so badly if i stand for several minutes so that i need to sit down or lay down, while i take medication i can atleast sitt but i still struggle with standing still, but am not sure witch one, do you have enny tip`s ojn specific excersise/training i can try over time to see if it maby help`s? :) Great Video :D ps i reposted this question on the other vide too youst incase you dont see the comment :) ps From Norway with dyslexia :D
congrats. You live in Florida? I am also watching these for intro to kinesiology. It is a lot of information. I thought it would be easy; but, boy was I mistaken. Way harder than human anatomy.
fabulous life what’s different about his videos vs others is that human connection, a teacher standing in front of the classroom. For me a great review on AP1
Are you taking the intro to pta class that is optional in some schools or reviewing on your own? Yeah, I like the human connection and powerpoint and watching them can get confusing and it is hard to visualize a lot of the things. I like these 3D models he uses.
Thank you, Sam. This is incredible. I have a deep interest in the multifidus specifically. Might you be able to tell me which specific vertebrae they attach to or can someone point me to a resource a layperson can access?
Anatomy has never been so fun - I literally laugh out loud watching his videos

You have somehow manage to explain these intrinsic muscles in a very accessible, non intimidating way. Thank you so much Sam!
Massage Therapy student here, studying for my Anatomy final! Thank you so much for your videos, they are helping me stay focused and helping me review these sometimes confusing muscles. The high spindle count in the transversospinalis muscles makes so much sense.
This was wildly helpful. The time, effort, and attention to detail that you put into this video are so appreciated. Thank you.
Physical Therapy student, honestly your videos and the way you explain is beyond amazing. It's very simple and precise with all the needed information.

I found the bits & bob's the most useful. Lol. In all honesty, these are some of THE BEST informative videos. Crack on now.
Hahaha! “Get your arse down and lift with your legs!” He said that straight.
Speak truth man.
I AM IN LOVE
besides lying flat on a wooden board with freaking lumbago and trying to study anatomy for my anatomy exam...
THIS MAN ROCKS
I learnt a lot of musculoskeletal anatomy through my own sporting injuries. I hope your back improves soon, and I'm glad I'm able to help!
Thank you. I am back on the mat!! Have a great Christmas season.

i got prolapsed disc at L3/4 about 18 months ago so i have to stretch whole bottom half of body every few hours 24/7. this helps to show what muscles are involved.
great video sam!
really helpful
Very nicely explained sir.

Probably rib subluxation and the bulging doesn’t usually cause too many issues but indicative of dysfunction region
Thank you so much, it finally cleared all my confusion 🙇
A teacher giving a sh** about his students actually understanding the subject is forbbiden here, in Romania. I fuc*ing love you, no homo.
so amazing, so wonderful, can't believe it's existing. Much appreciation ^^
@Sam Webster: what are the color threads ? are they supposed to be micro muscles ? legaments or what ?
Your knowledge and way of explaining is fantastic. Thanks so much for all your videos. Helped me so much in grasping anatomy.
Where can I buy these? I couldn't make out the name of the company he referred too.
I have injured many vertibra. In MRI. WHAT ABOUT INJURED MUSCLE S? MRI does not show muscles.
