One thing to note about the Tricorn, if you use it on a Overloading or Magma Worm, the item can get stuck in terrain if the worm was too far into the ground. Hopefully that gets fixed in the future.
I typically wait until the worms do one of their big jumps to shoot them after i had items end up underground a few times. Its not perfect but it works most of the time
Another thing to note is that it's only on bosses that can drop a yellow item to begin with, it won't work on Scavengers or the final bosses for example but that's about it
Spare Drone Parts is the easiest S. Even a few drones shred almost everything around you while drawing the majority of aggro on top of that. It quickly gets to the point where you can more or less AFK to victory. Absolutely insane item. Voidsent Flame is also a better version of an already great item.
This. I don't think Woolie actually used the drone parts. "B-but the damage doesn't come from me!" You cannot see Elder lemurians and Elite Brass Contraptions getting spawncamped by a few drones and say it's C tier
Yeah with just a few drones, which are easy to find, they absolutely shred outside of one run where I decided to fight the new void boss I’ve had 100% win rate with it. Plus with captain you just have a wall of bullets and missiles that also stops projectiles from reaching you.
I use stone flux pauldrons on god runs where I have too MUCH movement speed. Trading off something that's become an inconvenience for more health is worth it. It's only really useful for runs that are already great though, so that's that.
I had a run where I was actually looking for flux but couldn't get it, so I had to scrap my 13 energy drinks just to not get sent of the map every time I pressed shift.
@@NimRyo try being good. Like rex is maybe a little suicidal to play but then it's usually just the first few stages anyway, the self dmg gets lower the lower your health gets so that shouldn't be a problem if you don't get hit and suck up everything with root and then boom them for a pretty big heal and it keeps healing afterwards aswell.
I've been killed by bottled chaos before. Was within Strides of Heresy and used my equipment, and I got a random Volcanic Egg proc from bottled chaos, knocking me out of Strides during the Planetarium boss' big attack.
Came here to say the same thing lol. Randomly becoming egg was more of an annoyance than I expected, especially when I had a drowned capacitor with many fuel cells and was constantly using my equipment. It was still fun to pick up that one time though
Yeah I always scrap it because of volcanic egg. I know it's gesture the one that is a lunar item but the downside seems to be with bottled chaos instead.
I found Weeping Fungus to be insanely useful in the simulacrum. With a few stacks, it basically lets you run across and loot the whole stage once the portal spawns
@@insignificantduck313 it does, but the Wungus healing is 2% of total HP per second (per stack), while the void fog is flat scaling IIRC. So you can still go pretty far.
As railgunner, I don’t like picking up lost seer lenses. Railgunner can already oneshot pretty much everything except bosses and the extra damage from normal glasses affects every enemy.
actually, i love the plasma shrimp icbm and seers lenses combo, on anyone really. plasma shrimp has a .2 proc coefficient so using M1 on railgunner to spam plasma shrimp will just delete normal enemies faster than anything, and leaves you to only M2 at bosses
I honestly think that lost seer's lenses should be in a tier of their own for strength, at least in looping runs. The longer the run goes the chances of getting the proc go up exponentially because it is essentially a grey item and proc chains will also cause it to proc a lot. When you get to these higher numbers legit nothing can stop you and a malachite scavenger will be just as hard to kill as a wisp. As long as you can kill the boss/bosses every stage (which gets super easy once you get farther in your run) you will not die. Sure, taking it in the first loop typically isn't the play but the item completely destroys the idea of difficulty scaling once you get far enough.
Overall Imo they are worse or at best a side grade because crowbars exist being way more consistent for fewer stacks, however you should be able to offset it with items like armor piercing rounds or just watches, but then you are just wasting what other items you could be taking instead (especially with artifact of command), but because they are unpredictable they are a side grade at best
The thing is that 99% of the time you're already obliterating the entire screen instantly without them. A 5% or even 20% chance to kill outright doesn't matter if everything would've died in the first place, which is exactly how's it's gonna be if you already kill bosses fast enough to not care about the negative of the glasses. I'd actually consider the lenses worse than the glasses. I'm actually surprised to see it rated so highly here.
@@zachw755 yeah things die FAST in this game There’s a very narrow window where this would really help and good luck getting that many glasses at stage 8-10
I am playing with the aetherium mod too and there is an item that increases luck based items by 1%.. I found a printer for it.. and had 75% luck (i did like 5 loops to get that many items) and I was one shotting everything.. it was silly by the end
I mean I know Stone Pauldron is kinda crap but I stand by it as a meme item. I love doing command and getting like 50 of these frickin' things and just being completely untouchable while using quail as a movement crutch so I can navigate the stage.
@@shlabedeshlub3334 its just an extra +30% base damage per 1m/s on her utility, its not that much, plus the move speed cut is irrelevant when you swing across the map edit: forgot to say that move speed doesnt affect how fast you are pulled by M2, which is how you get that extra damage
@@shlabedeshlub3334 the only survivor that has a unique movement mechanic that disregards their move speed does indeed make the most use of an item that halves your move speed
Should note, Voidsent Flame can be triggered by Lightning, Sacrifical Daggers, and any other source of damage you and your items can cause. Stray missles and Fireworks suddenly become extremely potent.
16:00 Also the band scales exponentially when it triggers itself. That means that whatever gets caught inside will definitely die. It is infinite damage. If you go for permabands you can have the band trigger itself and then triggering an ukelele that triggers more bands. Result, the entire map filled with implosions.
@@amare2014 Find someone play multiplayer with, you'll get all content as long as one person in the lobby has the dlc, you will only miss out on the characters
Voidsent flame is an easy A/S, especially on eclipse. It procs faster due to having to hit things at full HP instead of killing them. Pick it up on stage 1-2 and enjoy free explosion chains up until stage 5. Direct upgrade from will o the wisp on solo runs if you ask me
It is basically an AoE ATG that always procs on the first hit. The key part AoE meaning 10 enemies is 10 ATGs hitting all of them. This is absolutely an easy A if not outright S.
There's a unique interaction or bug with Shipping Request Form. When a monster gets it via the Artifact of Evolution the stage will contain A TON of deliveries and (Im not sure about this part since I had a lot of the stacks of it when it happened) all items will be either red or green.
@@cheatlink11 It was a hell similar to having a benny bloom but not as horrible, hell to enemies I mean Side note: I'd love that kind of mod Ill just give them like 5 plates and 10 steaks so the game is harder while I use command sacrifice and swarm artifacts lol
Huh. I don't actually know if I like that. Now, hear me out. On the one hand, no hell-fire tincture damage is good, but on the other... The only time I personally (so this isn't me saying it's a bad interaction, just my own use-case) take the tincture is when I have a ton of razor-wire. That would destroy the combo entirely... I know the raincoat is by far one of the best items in the game (basically making you unkillable from that random malachite wisp who negates ALL healing you have) but in that one fringe case, that kinda sucks
15:10 safer spaces is also theoretically stupidly good with opal, if the interaction works the way I think it does basically, spaces blocks damage, opal stays up, then opal takes the next hit, then you're vulnerable until safer spaces + opal recharge
Yes it does, it is actually a huge safety measure for going Blast Shower for refreshing it. People don't talk about this step, but you will still die due to hits sneaking in. Always get Opal.
Also the synergy with red whip, squid poglyp, and drone parts You can tank for your squids, goobo, and drone parts and move fast with the red whip S+ tier
something interesting to note with Polylute, its damage doesnt stop when the target dies, it will keep hitting the corpse, which may not sound useful on its own, but since it has a proc coeffecient, it can proc useful items from it hitting the dead bodies, such as Plasma Shrimp, leeching seeds, and molten perforators. with a few polylutes and a Molten, you can make yourself a field of corpse volcanoes
Yes and no. They did this change with the DLC first patch, but there were no patch notes. And people didn't notice (probably because they though ignition tank was doing all the work)
For Egocentrism, isnt it just the bomb's amount and recharge that scales based on stacks? I think egos will always convert only 1 item/minute, no matter how many you have.
Reusable scrap is also good for red pools, so if you go to the bazaar and you have a bunch of refusable scrap you're basically getting free red items every level
8:12 To my knowledge, Egocentrism's conversion rate is a static 60 seconds. It's only the bombs that get faster recharge and more numerous with more stacks.
@@Shrow88 no it didnt, the only thing they changed about it was that it would spawn a second/third col. droneman for the turrets which it doesnt anymore
Worth mentioning that the Ben's Raincoat is currently bugged for the Void Fiend. Gives him a permanent slowness debuff after using corrupted primary attack. Edit: it's patched.
Roll of pennies should go up to B or A. Get a repulsion or two and catch on fire. Easy money. It's a godsend early game where most attacks deal little damage.
I think that C is a fair ranking. I have found it to be pretty useful on the first few stages, but as the run gets going you really start to not need money anymore. That said I do think that it can save quite a lot of time in the early game but you're not always gonna take that damage especcially in eclipse mode.
@@umbertorossin5977 It's even more useful on eclipse. Especially on E6+ where gold gains are scuffed. You can afford to take damage in the early game which allows you to get items and hit the teleporter faster. One or two stacks leads to saving several minutes which is big in eclipse. It becomes less useful when you loop, but since looping isn't the best idea in eclipse, it remains helpful throughout the entire run.
@@DamianJoseph661 I admit I haven't done a ton of eclipse runs so I may be misjudging it so I'll be sure to give it a try but I still believe that if you don't already have so form of good healing I wouldn't want to run into enemies. That said I may be entirely wrong so I may give it a second thought, after all it's still early in the dlc so I'm entirely open to being proven wrong.
I disagree on Voidsent Flame, it should be a higher tier. It feels much more consistent than Will-o-wisp for me, especially in the early game when it takes a little bit of effort to kill most enemies. Sure in a late run it's basically the same but it feels great when found early. Plus I'm fairly sure this makes it work with Crowbars on any target it procs on, making that item more useful on survivors that focus on doing damage over time instead of burst.
Exactly, the frontloaded nature of the Voidsent Flame makes the item an instant screenwipe in high monster density areas, making it an insanely useful AoE item, better than the Wisps because it consistently procs itself.
It also damages the initial target you proc it on, in addition to all nearby targets, rather than the standard wisp which can only deal damage to OTHER enemies, if any are nearby.
They changed Artificer burn effect to do %dmg of the ability that triggered it. Making the burn DMG much higher than what we are used to. (It used to scale with your lv)
17:57 That's one reason I value roll of pennies so high. Once, there was a dilemma of farming vs rushing. With roll of pennies and executive card you can do both. Or literally farm a little more and get all the items in multishops without wasting time.
Honestly i agree, since so much of the run is dependent on the early game, this thing will legit pay dividends by letting you amass a large amount of items to handle nearly every challenge, farming is ACTUALLY VIABLE
It should also be noted you can't use Blood Shrines a second time as it would leave you with exactly 25% health after picking up delicate watch or elixir as it would consume/break them which shouldn't be too much of a problem if it's a long run but definitely a consideration for early stages. I'm not entirely sure about this since I've only experienced this once and it might've been that I've taken DoT or damage right afterwards, some experimentation might be in order. Having shields might help negate this effect too.
IIRC Plasma Shrimp also goes through terrain/walls, and I think is almost hitscan. In comparison, AtG missiles have an actual travel time that might take a bit if you're far away, and they could collide with and explode on walls or terrain before reaching the target.
@@mantrad0r Yes, and you can "hit" enemies you might never even see with AOE procs, such as razorwire, ceremonial dagger, ukelele, will-o-wisp, wedding bands, etc. The Plasma Shrimp will fire missiles to any targets that you hit with any kind of attack, and it WILL go through everything and anything to reach that enemy. Whereas AtG missiles are DUMB and STINKY and if you stand under any platform they're just gonna explode on top of you (assuming they collide with terrain bcs I don't remember)
Something to note about the Eulogy Zero lunar item, if it converts a printer into a lunar, that printer doest NOT take lunar items. It takes whatever rarity the printer was before then converts it into said lunar. I had a white printer in the simulacrum become a gesture, which is exactly as broken as that sounds.
Colonel Droneman has one funny use. If you find a red printer for it, you can just reprint itself over and over again. Every pick up getting you another colonel droneman. So if you have a meh red you can trade it for 25 drone buddies technically.
I agree with most of the list, especially all of the void items. Most of them are so good that the void cradles is like an instant dopamine button. I agree that 57 leaf clover is still the best item, even better now. I don't agree at all with placing pennies in C. I would place them in low A tier or high B at least. Getting burned/bleeded intentionally gives you a *huge* amount of gold, we're talking legendary chest in seconds. And if you know what you're doing it's not that dangerous either. Imps/blazing enemies are not that uncommon so you can usually do it every run you get the pennies. Also, they give you a lot of money passively even if you're not going for the self damage strats. I am always looking for at least 1 stack of these every run. Ceremonial daggers in the same tier as frost relic is something I do not agree with, it should at least be in low A.
IMO money is only an issue for the first loop, afterwards there are so many enemies (and also some void enemies) that you’ll have more than enough money. I would put it in an overall B tier, but it becomes an A tier on the first couple of stages.
Figured this out unintentionally. Always thought the amount of gold you got barely made a difference. Was standing at a recycler deciding what to scrap and took a couple of seconds of damage in a lava AOE attack. I was blown away with how fast and free I could get gold if I find a safe spot to take a couple seconds of AOE damage
Love your note on the Shurikens. I recognise how great they are, but have been playing Railgunner almost exclusively since release and see those things far too often. Even on a stage 1 Benthic Bloom run, a stack of 7 was upgraded into Shurikens. It's like the game is trolling me. Still can't complain if I haven't found a crowbar or band yet.
The Remote Caffeinator can be really good if you've got things that proc from interactables - Fireworks mainly, and when playing as MUL-T or in multiplayer if someone else has the Executive Card and Bottled Chaos. An important thing I noticed with void items and Command: void items still have internal tiers that are determined when you open a void cradle or crusted cache. If you're playing with Command and you're wondering why you can only see some void items, it's because they're still separated into white/green/red drops, even though they're all "purple" tier.
Idk, I feel like the lost seers are situational, making the easiest parts easier and making the hardest parts harder by not procing some great items (shatterspleen, predatory, scythe, laser scope) and potentially halving your dmg seems bad in most cases.
Very survivor dependant item. Strong on characters like rex and commando who can deal tons of small instances of damage, especially to several targets at once. Definitely a downgrade to standard crit if you can’t deal damage that rapidly.
Remote Caffinator pairs extremely well with Fireworks and Squid Turrets, since you can use its interaction to constantly proc the two until it runs out of drinks. Getting an Energy Cell or two means you can near endlessly chain Fireworks. I've had a few god runs that have happened thanks to buying sodas.
I noticed something while testing Engineer stuff, the Pocket I.C.B.M works with the Thermal Harpoons, you'll fire 12 rockets instead of 4 (3 rockets per 1 stack), just thought was cool at the time. and that people might want to know.
honestly, having just 1 stack of pennies in early stages feels EXTREMELY good, speeds up the process of getting items but then again i havent managed to beat the game with the new update so those 2 things could be directly related :p also in simulacrum having just 1 stack is pretty busted as well also am i just crazy or did the update lower the ammount of green printers by like, a LOT? ive played a lot of runs carrying regen scraps and i swear ive only seen like, 2.
green printers definitely seem rare now which makes the regen scrap not that useful/only useful for getting the red in bazaar if you have enough of it..
@@Sheph100 yeah, it honestly seems like regen scrap in simulacrum is F tier garbage, since there is no bazaar to use it on and the printers are way too scarce.
I found Goboo really really useful TBH, as Engineer the Goboo will put turrets obviously and that's quite good, as a Mercenary, it's quite fun because it doesn't let itself get hit since it spams skills so much. As Rex, basically Free heals with the R. Haven't tryed as Herectic, not sure if it'll be the normal survivor or the actual Herectic.
With spare drone parts I found them very effective with the Engineer. Every time I craft a turret it makes an additional Col. Droneman and can craft a new one with each new turret. But with other survivors I did not find them that helpful.
Hi Woolie, on the topic of the plasma shrimp you mentioned that plasma shrimp is better with faster attacking abilities and atg is better with slower ones. This would be true if they operated off of base damage, but because they deal TOTAL damage, it is not. For example, whether it is commando's double tap, attacking 20 times over 10 seconds, or Railgunner's supercharge attacking once over 10 seconds, a single plasma shrimp will result in a 40% damage increase in either case (all other items held constant). The ATG does 300% damage 10% of the time for a overall 30% expected damage increase, subject to some variance. The attack speed does not matter, the only thing that matters is the proc chance of the ability; the lower it is, the better Plasma Shrimp is over ATG. The only exception to this are the Railgunner's special abilities which have proc coefficients greater than 1, where ATG is better. The default special has a proc chance of 3, resulting in a 30% chance to proc ATG, resulting in an overall expected 90% damage increase for that ability with 1 atg, compared to the flat 40% of the plasma shrimp. The other special has a proc chance of 1.5, which blah blah blah does expected value of 45% damage increase for that ability. This is all assuming 100% uptime of shield during combat; in actuality the disparity between the two is a little less than this math.
This is exactly right, also it is worth noting that Shrimp scaled at a rate of 50% so it is even more in favor of the Shrimp. (Unless that was changed.) This means it scales almost twice as well.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 according to the wiki the 50% is actually incorrect and it just adds another 40% per stack. I haven't tested it myself but it wouldn't be the first time a tooltip was incorrect in ror2.
Another upside to the shipping Request Form, and one that gives it another bigger edge over rusted key is the fact that the delivery ship is REALLY easy to see from far away. Rusted Key's lockbox is small and has a habit of blending into the ground sometimes making it range from hard to impossible to spot from a distance. The delivery ship? You can see that across the other side of the map and know exactly where to go to get your free item.
I put void crit around C or B personally, depending on the character and the run. They're pretty awesome on long runs or Commando but for most characters the double damage you get from normal crit glasses is more consistent and will ultimately kill more enemies then the small chance at infinite damage void crit provides. Besides, with void crit it becomes harder to proc Harvester's or Instincts so a primary source of healing and attack speed is suddenly taken off the table for your run if you go for void crit. fun as hell item though.
Yeah, Void glasses are overrated. It's not "infinite" damage. It's capped by the enemy health. That said, if you get a run with some clovers you could consider it (I still don't believe it myself but it looks like they're affected by clover).
I would still put them in A for short runs. The amount of times I've oneshotted world spawn bosses even with only 2-3 stacks is insane. And crits as healing in a short run is rarely viable so it isn't that bad losing the regular crits still. They are def S for runs past the first loop. 10+ stacks and you're just demolising entire stages. There are other sources of healing. Attack speed doesn't matter too much if everything just dies
Goobo’s best use is the final phase of mithrix where if you throw it out before your item’s are removed, he’ll hold on to the item and fight mithrix for a bit letting you get some items back while you sit on the side and chill.
I used stone flux pauldrons in a run with my friends for masteries while playing heretic and to say the least, 10k health makes you feel invincible, especially if you start stacking strides if heresy
Im gonna disagree on the drone legendary. I actually got one in my run where i was doing almost no damage and then i got my drone legendary with an army and I was just standing there watching everything die. It was only like stage 10 but man i loved it.
I've did a run with the void 57 leaf clover on monsoon. At the end on stage 15 I had about 9 dios, 20 wake of vultures 10 Pocket ICBMs, multiple rejuvenation racks, 10 happiest masks and ceremonial daggers and many many more because I picked up that item on stage one.
Things I've noticed when messing with some of the equipment. 1: The Executive Card seems to activate the horn every time you purchase an item, also if you grab the card while a equip cooldown is happening, it won't work until cooldown is done. 2: Short cooldown equipment + shell is what you want when getting the Bottled Chaos (E-Card works too for some reason). 3: Equipment drones are funnier when giving them Goobo or a Caffeinator.
Stone Flux Pauldron uniquely doesn't effect the jump you get from Wax Quails, as well as any equipment that moves you. It's still pretty bad, but if you have 3-4 wax quails as, say, Engineer or REX, it can REALLY beef you up. I haven't tested how it works with movement skills like Mercenary, but it could be really handy to have just too much HP that Wungus/Bungus can heal.
Had a run where I got bottled chaos and master card. Opened up a multishop and chaos spawned a goobo which IMMEDIATELY got void infested. There’s nothing like getting shot in the back by a copy of yourself and hit with 5 stacks of collapse.
i'd argue that the effect of Ignition tank is worth a bump up on Artificer specifically, but only up a single rank. yes, the effect is surprisingly good with her *consistent* sources of fire damage, and especially when paired with her flamethrower, but there's just one problem... Artificer is more of a burst damage character... that said if you go full pyromancer via mods it may be actually pretty strong. as for Light Flux Pauldrons, before i'd argue they might be useful on Artificer but now it's more or less a 'Late Game' pickup when you literally have more Attack Speed than you necessarily need thanks to the Attack Speed Buff for Artificer Flamethrower.
honestly Lost Seer's Lenses is a C or D imo. the fact that it completely removes the Lens Makers Glasses from your inv, means you can no longer increase your crit chance outside of the one time 5% buffs from Harvester Scythe, Predatory Instincts, and Shatterspleen unless you are running Command, Sacrifice or both you wont get enough glasses for the void item to be worth while due to its .5% chance per stack
I always pick up a eulogy zero when i see it. You haven't lived until you find a purity printer next to a cleansing pool and print 28 (irradiant) pearls
I think both spare parts and goobo jr. should be at least B tier because when working together on a equipment drone, the drone spits out more drones that are also affected by the spare parts item
I think you got ego's wrong, the thing getting faster is the respawn time of the orbs from it, not the rate at which it takes items. The rate is always 1 item per minute :)
Benthic Bloom would've been my favourite and an S+ item in the game if It consumed items and not stacks. It can easily destroy your run if you run more than 1 stack of it. I just use it for meme builds.
There's a high skill tech you didn't mention about the Tricorn - once you shoot a boss with it, you get a free hat. You can stick this free hat onto an equipment drone, which will cause it to shout "Ahoy!" in the chat the moment it's off cooldown. Thank me later, your runs are saved.
Personally i really like Spare Drone Parts. especially with captain where you get a bunch of drones (including a TC-280 prototype). some of the most fun ive had in the game and a build that i wanna achieve again
I feel like commando has went from the god at putting debuffs to everything to maybe the best character in the game especially with a lot of these new items
the immediate damage you get by corrupting will o wisps is so much better than having them as an on-death effect. one little stray hit can lead to a chain reaction that wipes a large area of enemies, where that extra smidge of time to kill could be the difference between surviving and getting sent to the brass contraption shooting range
pauldron's have a very weird interaction where they reduce the amount of traction on your actual movement. it seems like they gimp your air control as-well, and that isn't just a placebo. i think it affects movement variables even outside of the ones you can normally interact with.
Well if you notice having movement speed increases affects basically all movements. It affects air control, Void Fiend's movement ability, Merc's one. it quite literially just does 'movement speed' and not 'ground movement'. The only thing that movement speed doesn't change that seems like it would with its words is your ability to turn.
Fun fact about the Tricorn: If you have the hat after killing something, and know an Equipment Drone is on the map, go hand it to the drone. Not only will ya have an EQ drone to draw Aggro, and have the slot open for any other equipment, it also CONSTANTLY greets enemies with an Ahoy! whenever enemies get near it on a super low cooldown An Ahoy!ing Equipment Drone is the best Equipment Drone
I think putting so much clout on the disposable items is overly optimistic. You're going to get hit and lose them no matter how buff or how good at the game you are. I'd much rather have a permanent item like Dagger which is also just straight up better than the disposables even if they weren't disposable.
Imo Watch and potion suck early but get better around stage 3-5 when your run has the damage and movement speed to support them. Potion is amazing on Engi though, it works like a diet Dio for your turrets.
@@michaelcoleman2173 imo watches are crazy early game as you can dodge majority of threats early and by the time they become crazy you have elixirs and healimg
12:41 Newly Hatched Zoea is a dangerous item because friendly void implosions can kill players. Also, Void Jailers throw their void implosion at enemies, making them difficult to predict at times. The Zoea is one of the few items that can outright kill players and simultaneously locks players out of important yellows in the future. The worst part is that I think the only way to get a Zoea is to Tricorn a Void Devastator, so it's competing against the very items that you mentioned would be worth more than the Zoea. Likely good for short runs, but bad for long ones.
For me, I'm taking safer spaces even if it's my first stack. Just makes it so much easier to play around and compliments my playstyle so well. That + opal has to be one of my favourite combos in the game
Fun Fact: With Survivors of the Void enabled, Squid Polyp is actually made FAR worse than usual. Normally it's just an underwhelming item, but with Void Cradles spawning Infestors, Squid Polyps can be run-ending.
executive card can actually goes on cooldown. if you use another equipment and switch to executive card, the cooldown will effect executive card. you won't be able to get all the items in the multishop during this cooldown
Benthic bloom is so fun even though I keep dying cause of it lol. Good to take if you have other void items and definitely consider swapping your utility skill with the lunar item so you can stay invunerable and get some mobility
I wanted to bring up something I noticed, with Vengence on in the Simulacrum it causes the Umbra to spawn on the player every 10 minutes. Which at first sounds reasonable till you realize this also applies to when the Fulcrum is moving and have to stay in a small moving circle which is often forced death. (Imagine having 10 Tri-Tips for example, the Umbra has more health and you're both applying roughly the same amount of bleed.) Perhaps for Simulacrum it would be better to change 10 minutes to 10 waves so a player can react to it and not be caught in impossible situations as without a few Bungus this can essentially be impossible?
I don't what to say, the backpack equipment is even more busted. For starters with only 6 or 5 gestures of the drowned you effectively halve your bands cool down. Now this also takes away collapse nullifing void monsters. The real kicker here for what was believed to be a rather bad equipment is that it also resets the cooldowns on safer spaces. With 7 gestures you have 3 seconds for your sheild to Regen, THREE SECONDS. Good luck dying with the unbelievable consistency of the humongous damage, collapse resistance, and practically infinite blocks. For all I know there could be more even dumber combos Involving that backpack.keep In mind that in never used fuel cells only gestures so uhhhh, I guess you can achieve immortality
The occular hud is now a bit more useful with void glasses. Since there is no normal glasses, occular hud can be a great way to 100% crit without them. But idk about the trade off. Basically its trading 10 crit glass for occular hud + gesture of the drowned + fuel cells, for a chance to instantly kill, when the chances seem a bit higher for damage when landing hits that do damage, and it also applies to bosses, if im correct. And then there is sniper scope and the watches that also add on damage, meaning crit gets more powerful in the end. Idk. I often use to play with the artifact of command, so maybe im wrong with normal runs since i don't play them as much.
i love the runs with the choose your items run with the card equipment combined with the instant kill boss thing! so many yellow items depending on your equip drops :p
Imo Lost Seer's Lenses are worse than regular glasses on runs that you dont care about finishing because crowbar does its job way better for fewer stacks
This is actually a really good point! If you take those 10 extra glasses and make them into 10 Crowbars that should be 750% damage on your first hit, which crits doubling to 1500% or 15 attacks. Compared to the 10 attacks needed to realistically proc Seer. This is good for bosses/regular enemies.
I got past wave 100 on simulacrum as engineer by taking the lunar domino thing and stacking stone flux pauldrons with shaped glass lol. When I died I had 3 glass and 3 pauldrons, effectively not reducing my health at all. The nice thing is that the pauldron doesn't reduce the effectiveness of quails, so I was still able to have decent mobility even with the hugely reduced move speed.
Disagree on Spare Drone Parts. In the third loop of my run, my 10 drones melted an elite boss in less than 3 seconds. The only downside to the item is that it requires that you have drones.
The Weeping Fungus is still viable for Engineer if you have on the mobile turrets alternative ability, nice to see them run around still evading and stacking procs while getting some good heals
Hard disagree on Roll of Pennies being C. It's a white Ghor's Tome. If you get it in the first couple stages, it is an insane gold accelerant- you'd be surprised how often you get hit with chip damage or a DOT, and Roll of Pennies can get you whole chests very quickly. Very good on survivors that are already mobile (where gold income is the bigger restrictor on how quick you get items). High B, for sure. (Admittedly, I can't justify an item that's basically useless late being any higher.)
Basically makes it useful for stage 1, 2, 3 if it’s a struggling run. Something that only has functional uses for a stage or two is pretty deserving of C imo, but it’s probably okay on Engi as your turrets getting damaged + giving you gold is triple the power. Maybe B for Engi.
@@TrippyTimesTwo I don't think it can be overstated how much of a difference it makes early, though. I can FEEL when I've gotten an early Roll of Pennies- it's worth, like, 2-3 items per stage. It's an incredible utility.
Wungus is pretty killer with just a rose buckler or two. Nigh unkillable while sprinting, particularly useful on railgunner inbetween recharges. Bet it would stack well with Aegis, too.
pretty much everything on here is very weirdly placed. i feel like when he made this he might not have actually used about 90% of the items and only used the other 10% either very late into a run where they were overwhelmingly good like the lenses or super early where they couldn't actually be used

One thing to note about the Tricorn, if you use it on a Overloading or Magma Worm, the item can get stuck in terrain if the worm was too far into the ground. Hopefully that gets fixed in the future.
Flying enemies can fall off the stage too
@@tikiwiki7428 That one at least you can bait them onto solid ground before one-tapping them.
Used it to kill a magma worm and I was confused when no item dropped.
Now stack it with captain and his nanobots, and you have a nigh-unkillable drone army that tears everything around you a new one.
This. I don't think Woolie actually used the drone parts.
"B-but the damage doesn't come from me!"
You cannot see Elder lemurians and Elite Brass Contraptions getting spawncamped by a few drones and say it's C tier
Yeah with just a few drones, which are easy to find, they absolutely shred outside of one run where I decided to fight the new void boss I’ve had 100% win rate with it. Plus with captain you just have a wall of bullets and missiles that also stops projectiles from reaching you.
I started a void fiend run, the moment I got SDP the game turned into drizzle, even when I only have 3 healing drones at the time.
Fun fact: engi turrets also count as drones.
I use stone flux pauldrons on god runs where I have too MUCH movement speed. Trading off something that's become an inconvenience for more health is worth it. It's only really useful for runs that are already great though, so that's that.
Good idea, I guess same goes for the other thing, just to a lesser extend
No clue why I never thought of that instead of letting a bunch scrap sit in my inventory
Did a command run, got up to 300k hp +300k more from shield. A lot of fun

I found Weeping Fungus to be insanely useful in the simulacrum. With a few stacks, it basically lets you run across and loot the whole stage once the portal spawns
This. Same is true in the Void.
Yep, combo it with a razor wire and you just kill anything that comes near you whilst exploring
Does the void fog no longer ramp up when thw portal spawns?
@@insignificantduck313 it does, but the Wungus healing is 2% of total HP per second (per stack), while the void fog is flat scaling IIRC. So you can still go pretty far.
As railgunner, I don’t like picking up lost seer lenses. Railgunner can already oneshot pretty much everything except bosses and the extra damage from normal glasses affects every enemy.
I agree. Unless you get laser scopes, which make additional glasses not very noticeable.
actually, i love the plasma shrimp icbm and seers lenses combo, on anyone really. plasma shrimp has a .2 proc coefficient so using M1 on railgunner to spam plasma shrimp will just delete normal enemies faster than anything, and leaves you to only M2 at bosses
I'm actually surprised to see it rated so highly here.

true,in the early game is very very good.

Not to mention, Will-o-wisp has an S rank, and he said they were nearly identical.
Exactly, the frontloaded nature of the Voidsent Flame makes the item an instant screenwipe in high monster density areas, making it an insanely useful AoE item, better than the Wisps because it consistently procs itself.
will o wisp: may hit 0 enemies
voidsent flame: always hits at least 1 enemy

In comparison, AtG missiles have an actual travel time that might take a bit if you're far away, and they could collide with and explode on walls or terrain before reaching the target.
the plasma shrimp only attacks the hit enemy tho
@@mantrad0r Yes, and you can "hit" enemies you might never even see with AOE procs, such as razorwire, ceremonial dagger, ukelele, will-o-wisp, wedding bands, etc. The Plasma Shrimp will fire missiles to any targets that you hit with any kind of attack, and it WILL go through everything and anything to reach that enemy.

Something to note about the Eulogy Zero lunar item, if it converts a printer into a lunar, that printer doest NOT take lunar items. Colonel Droneman has one funny use. If you find a red printer for it, you can just reprint itself over and over again. Every pick up getting you another colonel droneman. So if you have a meh red you can trade it for 25 drone buddies technically.

The vending machine is great. If you stack fireworks and squid turrets you can constantly span the vending machine, granted you have money
I would put it in an overall B tier, but it becomes an A tier on the first couple of stages.
self damage doesnt even proc roll of pennies, only enemy damage
@@devinurenda5229 I meant self damage as in taking damage intentionally from enemies.

I noticed something while testing Engineer stuff, the Pocket I.C.B.M works with the Thermal Harpoons, you'll fire 12 rockets instead of 4 (3 rockets per 1 stack), just thought was cool at the time.

honestly, having just 1 stack of pennies in early stages feels EXTREMELY good, speeds up the process of getting items but then again i havent managed to beat the game with the new update so those 2 things could be directly related :p
also in simulacrum having just 1 stack is pretty busted as well
also am i just crazy or did the update lower the ammount of green printers by like, a LOT? ive played a lot of runs carrying regen scraps and i swear ive only seen like, 2.
green printers definitely seem rare now which makes the regen scrap not that useful/only useful for getting the red in bazaar if you have enough of it..

They just patched that out
Hi Woolie, on the topic of the plasma shrimp you mentioned that plasma shrimp is better with faster attacking abilities and atg is better with slower ones.
(Unless that was changed.)
This means it scales almost twice as well.

Remember, it rolls for insta kill on any hit that procs, so your ukelele, atg, etc all let you get another chance at instantly killing world mobs.
I like to give my equipment drones spinel tonic for the added moral dilemma
@@lukasmuller1274 Excellent take. I'm partial to giving them used Tricorns myself.
I think the E-card 'activates' when buying an item, triggering Bottled Chaos and horns.
With a couple stacks of gasoline, it's completely busted. Even better with death mark. Basically kill one enemy and the entire stage goes up in flames
Thanks for getting this out so soon! ❤️
honestly Lost Seer's Lenses is a C or D imo. the fact that it completely removes the Lens Makers Glasses from your inv, means you can no longer increase your crit chance outside of the one time 5% buffs from Harvester Scythe, Predatory Instincts, and Shatterspleen
unless you are running Command, Sacrifice or both you wont get enough glasses for the void item to be worth while due to its .5% chance per stack
I always pick up a eulogy zero when i see it. You haven't lived until you find a purity printer next to a cleansing pool and print 28 (irradiant) pearls
That sounds better than sex
I think both spare parts and goobo jr. should be at least B tier because when working together on a equipment drone, the drone spits out more drones that are also affected by the spare parts item
Elyxer works quite well on engeneer with turrets, especially when combined with the wandering vagrants yellow item
I think you got ego's wrong, the thing getting faster is the respawn time of the orbs from it, not the rate at which it takes items. The rate is always 1 item per minute :)
The Pocket I.C.B.M also works on engineers missiles meaning every mark from him fires 3 at a time which is pretty cool.
The trihorn cap that you get after being used is THE best item to give to the equipment drone. Trust me on this
Ahoy, I see you are a man of culture.
Personally i really like Spare Drone Parts. especially with captain where you get a bunch of drones (including a TC-280 prototype). some of the most fun ive had in the game and a build that i wanna achieve again
I feel like commando has went from the god at putting debuffs to everything to maybe the best character in the game especially with a lot of these new items
laughs in dual nailgun mul-t.
the immediate damage you get by corrupting will o wisps is so much better than having them as an on-death effect. one little stray hit can lead to a chain reaction that wipes a large area of enemies, where that extra smidge of time to kill could be the difference between surviving and getting sent to the brass contraption shooting range
pauldron's have a very weird interaction where they reduce the amount of traction on your actual movement. it seems like they gimp your air control as-well, and that isn't just a placebo. i think it affects movement variables even outside of the ones you can normally interact with.
Not only will ya have an EQ drone to draw Aggro, and have the slot open for any other equipment, it also CONSTANTLY greets enemies with an Ahoy! whenever enemies get near it on a super low cooldown
An Ahoy!ing Equipment Drone is the best Equipment Drone
I prefer equipment drones with spinel tonic
Goobo Jr. is also a good E Drone option as well :)
Normally it's just an underwhelming item, but with Void Cradles spawning Infestors, Squid Polyps can be run-ending.
executive card can actually goes on cooldown. if you use another equipment and switch to executive card, the cooldown will effect executive card. you won't be able to get all the items in the multishop during this cooldown
add this one to the playlist! i just watched the one from a year ago and saw this immediately after. love your stuff though man, easy sub
(Imagine having 10 Tri-Tips for example, the Umbra has more health and you're both applying roughly the same amount of bleed.)
Perhaps for Simulacrum it would be better to change 10 minutes to 10 waves so a player can react to it and not be caught in impossible situations as without a few Bungus this can essentially be impossible?
Getting more than two gestures in a single run is already nuts
I think seven gestures on most equipments will shred enemies
The occular hud is now a bit more useful with void glasses. Since there is no normal glasses, occular hud can be a great way to 100% crit without them. But idk about the trade off.
Basically its trading 10 crit glass for occular hud + gesture of the drowned + fuel cells, for a chance to instantly kill, when the chances seem a bit higher for damage when landing hits that do damage, and it also applies to bosses, if im correct. And then there is sniper scope and the watches that also add on damage, meaning crit gets more powerful in the end. Idk. I often use to play with the artifact of command, so maybe im wrong with normal runs since i don't play them as much.
thanks mister streamer for this tierlist, very cool
i love the runs with the choose your items run with the card equipment combined with the instant kill boss thing! so many yellow items depending on your equip drops :p
@@Buglin_Burger7878 Its also overall more constant because of no proc being required for just crowbars
With this DLC I’m seeing a lycate cell faster cool-down gasoline burn build for arti
Problem is shaped glass makes you lose your 1-shot protection.
Disagree on Spare Drone Parts. In the third loop of my run, my 10 drones melted an elite boss in less than 3 seconds. The only downside to the item is that it requires that you have drones.
Yeah agreed, its basically the successor to the first games's arms race and that made drones busted. especially with the glass artifact.
@@TrippyTimesTwo the turrets hold the gold by them self there don't share the gold
Yea, I think it's higher than C for sure. Pretty much useless later, but it can Jumpstart your run really well if you get it early.
@@MOOGGI Welp, then I think C is pretty fair. It isn’t very good after the first couple of stages, and never worth taking more than 1.
Void crit S, drone parts D? Aged like milk
pretty much everything on here is very weirdly placed. i feel like when he made this he might not have actually used about 90% of the items and only used the other 10% either very late into a run where they were overwhelmingly good like the lenses or super early where they couldn't actually be used
