The rear styling is ok. Reminds me of when Lotus tacked round tail lights onto the last generation Esprits. The front styling is just plain ugly though. If I had the funds, I would seek out a TR all day. I don’t though so I will settle for my Mini Cooper for the moment 😄
These synth-based intros are killer!!! (yeah, I know the car is the star here, but I'm a musician, and I just want to make sure John knows these "soundtracks" are awesome!)
The 512 TR was improved mechanically, but I’d go for the old interior, I love the square looking seats, the new ones didn’t look special to me. What do you think about the seats?
Never cared much for yellow Ferraris but have always absolutely loved the 512M. This was my personal poster car as a kid (in Rosso Corsa) of course lol! Awesome content as always Mr. Temerian!!
I've never been a Tettarossa fanboy. But for christ sake, this yellow beast is a drop dead knock out. Great first hand first class experience presentation.
@pedro I agree with you and I believe that the secret to financial stability is having the right investment ideas to enable you earn more money, I don’t know who agrees with me but either way I recommend either real estate or crypto and stocks
I really don't trade, I only invest with a professional assigned by a crypto company that trades for people and returns profits on weekly basis for me and you can invest your capital and get weekly Returns of investment (ROI) without any extra fees attached
2:10 you forgot something about the 86 model year, different clutch, they overhauled the clutch for a dual disc to match the power the cars were putting out, the first ones had the same clutch as the BB, like the Vice Testarossa had the dual clutch, the A pillar mirrors and the 16.5 Rims they latter got rid of so it wasnt that hard to find tires for them also they had two different tire size options for them, 215's and 245's and 225's and 265 I believe, they covered in in a testarossa book I ordered in from england, turns out this whole time when people were complaining about the steering, they might have ordered them with the larger tires and not even known, hence the complaints about the steering and the clutch heavyness also they need the right lubricants for the transmission, thick thick oil to not crunch, once you do that, I've met people with 88's and 92's who love the thing to death, dont and neglect that and people go why is this car so great, its junk also monospec, the first cars were called mono specs and sometimes people did dual Mirrors with dual flying mirrors on them. and you know I saw the perfect testarossa once, it took the one good part of this car, the front bumper and put it on a first gen, all black and its amazing how much better that bumper looks on it, its a testarossa that was in singapore and I actually got to chat with him on ferrari chat the rest with the M its like, its like ferrari wanted to do what Koenig had been doing since the 80's and that someone got drunk and stappled some 456 lights to the rear, although thank god someone finally painted that inner section on the decklid bodycolor, but they kept forgetting to have the hood vents black also the main change between the 512TR and the TR is the engine, they modernized it and got away from the cap and rotor system of the early ferrari's which gave it better spark and ignition and they did some other stuff with it, which boosted its horsepower like a good 30 or 40 and they moved it further forward and down in the car, for better handling which might be why the 512TR just looks wrong as they screwed up the profile of the decklid and changed the interior and removed the cut there was with the black striping on the decklid and then gave it like a two piece look that gave it its beautiful side profile, like the only visual problem with the testarossa was the front bumper and that they went away from the center lock magnesium rims, oh and the auto seatbelts for the 1991 model year the rest the car was a classic and nothing needed changing, like they should have just updated the mechanicals, as literally the engines running off of the same stuff a 308 from the 70's did hence why when one got tested on the grand tour, and badmouthed by Jeremey and Co, like he always does, as you KNOW you have a good car if he hates it, I came to find out, Mr Harry Metcalf, the owner of BOTH cars the rotor had broken off and the car was running on 6 that whole time lol also the clutch is going on the countach, its in for an engine out in england right now. which he should be doing an update video on rather soon, also with the TR most amusingly the BB the car that came before it, when Sammy Hagar drove that for the I cant drive 55 video in 83, 84, when that car was new guess what he burned out, the clutch, lol also Harry metcalf is friends with the Money Harris monkey, he thinks the real difference between his 87 TR and Harris Monkey's 512TR is the tires and this is coming from a guy who took his across the saharah and had to fight a dicky immobilizer with it so those larger rims and tires might be the big difference on those cars, like some minor changes and a TR might be as good as a 512TR, as dont forget it was the 80's, and even on the 308's if you do some things to the exhaust they come alive, like just ask ratarossa sometime who built a junked one up and has been doing it up ever since, the tr when you do them right their excelent cars in their own right. 512TR however, great car, ugly body and they ruined the beautiful interior of the testarossa, like their was nothing wrong with the design at all, just needed to fix that bloody front bumper with the stupid fish lips of a 73 challenger on it. like cut those off so it gives it a lotus S2 profile atleast with the top lips and you have the perfect car or even flip it upside down really
An absolutely beautiful car one of my all time favourites. What is wrong with people I can’t understand why you don’t have millions of subs please keep doing what you are doing I love the way you present a car second to none I’m my opinion I’m a big fan plus your furniture game is strong bro!
11/10 on the first 1m25s. It was great to let us soak up the looks of the beautiful cars you deal with. Nice overview of the variations with some good real world feedback about what the later cars are like.
Ughhhh this is my ultimate dream car. I drew it all over my notebooks all through school. I've lusted after it for over 30 years. Maybe someday.... maybe.
This Is the only channel I like and comment on as I not only love but I respect and appreciate ur insight to these wonderful cars you show us. So the least I can do is do what you ask so you get money from UA-cam for your efforts.
The 512M didn't get the love it deserved in my opinion. Sure the 512TR is better looking, but this is a better car and far more collectable because of the numbers. These ones are continuing to go up in price.
Love it JT! That was awesome at 2:04 btw. Think that was 2nd to 3rd. Badass! This has always has been on my list. Now that I’m 55 I got the cash but I’m 6-5 tall. Thinkin I’m out. Great channel.
M stands for Mongrel. Joking. When I was younger, I thought was the ultimate version, even when the front always looked too high up in comparison to the back. Nowadays it's different. Appreciate and understand more about originality and purism of a design, that's why Testarossa & 512 TR just look more Zeitgeist and contemporary for when the design was launched. But still a great looker and such a rare car. Saw one for sale years ago with a bespoke centre seat for a child in a three seater configuration.
I agree with all the points you made since it shows the evolution and improvements that took place over the long model run. However, IMHO, it is fugly. Almost all other Ferraris are beautiful. The early Testarossas are. The front grill, the headlights, and the tail lack grace. I love your channel; I know of no other like yours.
The 512M styling was the worst the round taillights just didn't fit the angular iconic rear end, and the Headlights and front bumper just made it look gopping! Way to ruin the legendary redhead.
...when the F 512M is painted in black making its looks visually more compact... it starts to look much better ...but yes...converting front and rear parts to look like original TR feels almost essential...
Monospechio or gtfo. That said, a 512 M in something other that resale red....chef's kiss. Yes, I'm old, and powerball permitting, I'd own a 512m AND a Tesrtarossa Monospechio. Like bookends to my teenage Ferrari obsession.
While I can only congratulate anyone who can daily a vintage V12 Ferrari and can also acknowledge that the 512M is probably the „most reasonable“ choice of the Testarossa and what became of it, it would never ever be my choice. Someone must have had a bit too much „Nocino“ before greenlighting this design.
The term “daily” is the most overused word in the car scene. None of these cars are “daily drivers. They’re more, drive it once or twice a week when the weathers nice.
I would say the 512TR would be. Thought the 512M is top of speed and handling, it was a lot stiffer. If they just didnt do the round tail lights. Maybe more flush at least or updated the strakes.
What made the Testarossa rear look so great was the straight lines of the louvres at the back echoing the slats on the side intakes. And then they go and tack the 355 lights on the back to match the design language of the rest of the range, and it totally ruins the whole aesthetic. Looks like a car designed by committee.
no doubting the F512M is the best version of the Testarossa but I much prefer the looks of the 512TR, for me I would put up with the TRs shortcomings over the Ms improvements
This is my dream car. I need to have this car. It's just like me, not a pretty face but can be attractive to some. And we were both born/made in 1995 ❤
Why does he keep calling it a V12 engine ? Twelve Cylinders, Yes, but it isn't a V configuration, but I think he did say Flat 12 once , Whatever. The Newer Ferraris (after 2005ish) do absolutely nothing for me, and I don't care how fast they are.
...No wonder these rare unicorns are auctioned for over 500k....If I were "THERE"...instead of buying some Bugatti for 1000k I would rather spending that money on custom ála Koenig-Specials tailored F 512M instead...
the headlights and the rearlights are aesthetic No Gos. terrible. Testarossa needs pop up lights and no external rearlights. looks like Lego in the rear.
His dialogue is interesting, the problem is that we want to see different shots of the car in between the dialogue and we get none of that. It happens in almost all his videos. I was disappointed at his Miami Vice Testarossa video. Same at this, too much dialog without seeing the star of the video, the car itself.
I think 512TR looks the best. 512M looks like styling was tacked on.
Correct, the nose of the F512M is absolutely horrible with that stupid headlight setup
Yeah, 512M looks like a mule for 550 Maranello tbh, especially the front.
The rear styling is ok. Reminds me of when Lotus tacked round tail lights onto the last generation Esprits. The front styling is just plain ugly though. If I had the funds, I would seek out a TR all day. I don’t though so I will settle for my Mini Cooper for the moment 😄
Agreed, 512TR is the real deal. Gotta have those pop up and down headlights
Took the words out of my mouth, 100% agree
These synth-based intros are killer!!! (yeah, I know the car is the star here, but I'm a musician, and I just want to make sure John knows these "soundtracks" are awesome!)
I'm a huge Testarossa fan, and the 512TR is the best one. Has the good looks of the original, but the improvementes of the later version.
The 512 TR was improved mechanically, but I’d go for the old interior, I love the square looking seats, the new ones didn’t look special to me. What do you think about the seats?

I admit I didn’t like these at first. Yellow looks fantastic on this. If they weren’t so expensive now I would buy one in a second. Love this car!

@@migueldiaz3917 Oh you know her too😲😲, I really don't know how she does it; her trading strategy is top notch
@@migueldiaz3917 Ms Jennifer is obviously the best , her strategy is really effective because I see my crypto increase 3-7 times after investing
I've always preferred these with the non pop up headlights. I know they are rare and glad you got to enjoy one. Oh we did too. Thank you for sharing.
I would still prefer the green 512 TR I remember seeing. That color is fantastic on them
2:10 you forgot something about the 86 model year, different clutch, they overhauled the clutch for a dual disc to match the power the cars were putting out, the first ones had the same clutch as the BB, like the Vice Testarossa had the dual clutch, the A pillar mirrors and the 16.5 Rims they latter got rid of so it wasnt that hard to find tires for them

they sound absolutely fantastic with tubi rumore and test pipes.

liked the opening music with some roto toms, making it miami vice

You can tell this guy is really passionate about cars by the way he talks with his hands
This is one of my favorite Ferraris, because it was made when I was born. I even bought a 1:18 scale model.
Intro sounds like Com Truise. Dope Video
Such a great channel!!! Thanks John
i don't know why but i like more the normal Testarossa but that Yellow M looks exotic
The 512M didn't get the love it deserved in my opinion. Sure the 512TR is better looking, but this is a better car and far more collectable because of the numbers. These ones are continuing to go up in price.

Is the maintenance the same as the first Testarossa? Would a 488 spend more time in my garage than at the mechanic?
So cool, na v12 with 3 pedals and almost modern car features while keepin it as it should be
No matter what testerrosa it is, it just hit the spot
I agree with all the points you made since it shows the evolution and improvements that took place over the long model run. However, IMHO, it is fugly. Almost all other Ferraris are beautiful. Great car, great review. Thanks Man. Cheers from the UK.
That intro... 🔥 🔥 🔥
Another great example of save the manuals. Where & when can we order a curated license plate??
Mid engine, na V12, and a gated manual.... Yes Please! 😍
The 512M styling was the worst the round taillights just didn't fit the angular iconic rear end, and the Headlights and front bumper just made it look gopping! Way to ruin the legendary redhead.
The lack of the pop up lights and weird tail light design just looks like a cheap update to an already stunning car the 512TR.
Need the pop ups. Agreed. This is awesome tho.
...when the F 512M is painted in black making its looks visually more compact... it starts to look much better ...but yes...converting front and rear parts to look like original TR feels almost essential...
I love the 512TR, but not the M. Those headlights are just..... Not for me.
I am looking forward to seeing you, John Ficarra, and Ed Bolian team up for a great adventure in the near future.
Great B roll. Great car BUT personally I am not a fan of the front end or the sound
Mega! In a row with the Legends as F40 and F50🦄
I usually don’t care for yellow Ferrari but the M always looked amazing in it.
I definitely appreciate the 512M for what it is, but I cant get over how awkward they look.
Hey, are you guys going to do another run of the Countach rally T-shirts with white text ?
Monospechio or gtfo. That said, a 512 M in something other that resale red....chef's kiss. Yes, I'm old, and powerball permitting, I'd own a 512m AND a Tesrtarossa Monospechio. Like bookends to my teenage Ferrari obsession.
Awsome videos keep up the good work !!!
Best car content as always
Florida and Ferrari are like bread and butter. ❤ and John is so Miami Vice!
I never realized how much this front end is in the 550 and 575 until now
On his first pull I swear I thought there was an M3 e46 doing a pull besides him...sounds similar.
The S54 is God's Motor.

The taillights ruin it for me, personally
That steering wheel not tilted is bugging me 😂

Saw #75 of #75 at Ferrari of San Francisco back in 2007. California License plate read: FINAL TR gallo/ blu
The Testarossa’s in their first gen with normal mirrors and Monodado are the best.
Does David Lee have one of these?
Had one and rolled over years ago wish I still kept it
512TR looks the best by far. I like the read twilights on the M and hate the lights and rims
Love the wheels on these.
What made the Testarossa rear look so great was the straight lines of the louvres at the back echoing the slats on the side intakes. The ugliest of the three TR's. I prefer the design of the 512 TR
How about 512TR body with latest 512 M engine now that would do it
what is the name of the music intro ?
Love this car for a while
my F512 GTB is a F355 with a 512tr engine/transmission and it is realy the best Testarossa because the modern 355 body
What number is this car?
This is my dream car. I need to have this car. It's just like me, not a pretty face but can be attractive to some.
And we were both born/made in 1995 ❤
Beautiful car
Daily a Ferrari? Good luck with those repair bills xD
😍 zaľúbil som sa
I miss my Testarossa.
Wow hear that engine
Ya cool because it’s rare but headlights and tail lights are a fail and the wheels are ugly af imo
Funny how the 512M is the ugliest but drives the best out of all the Testarossas
Gratitude
That's the ugliest version of the Testarossa. 512TR is the best.
this is my dream
So sick
Its a butterface Testarossa
Self.involved. and the.music. sux...nice voice.
