  • Any pilot starting in FPV, knows how difficult it is selecting your 1st drone, radio, and goggles. Well BetaFPV has eliminated that stress by creating the Aquila16 RTF kit. Now, you’re probably wondering what RTF means, and that stands for Ready To Fly. It’s a process where the manufacture selects the most appropriate drone, radio, and goggles, put it into a complete package, and hopefully it seamlessly works together. Today we’ll be taking a look at the Aquila16 and what makes it so special. For more information check out: bit.ly/3B6w6zQ

    Thank you for posting this video. Do you recommend using these googles for the meteor hdzero? For down the road.

    • @OneManUnmanned
      @OneManUnmanned  6 місяців тому +1

      No, they won’t work together. They are completely different protocols. The goggles with the Aquila is “Analog” based, while the one needed to fly the Meteor will have to be HDZero.

    I heard that this drone does not have full acro mode, (the horizon is stabilized) do you happen to know if it is possible to make it completely manual? or could you tell me if acro mode is actually like this?

      Good question. I just filmed the setup video yesterday, and did some brief testing indoors. I’ll be doing some more flying today. I’ll let you know a bit later, but I don’t see why there wouldn’t be an Acro mode. The “Manual Mode” felt like Acro when I flew indoors, but I didn’t do rolls or flips due to limited space.

    Thanks for the video. Im about to pull the trigger on a cetus X kit. This just came out and has confused me if I should go for this. I have noticed in other review videos it does not like dives and has some weird correction issues. I appreciate its small but not seen that on any cetus reviews. Maybe can be fixed with a tune.

      I have not flown the Aquila16 outside or done an Acro flight, since the weather here has been rainy and windy. OK, so I don’t own the Cetus X series of drones, but the Cetus-X RTF is VERY similar to the Aquila RTF. The Cetus is a bit more expensive, but does include more premium products like the LiteRadio3, a more capable Flight Controller(FC), and a more premium camera. One thing to consider with the Cetus, is the choice in Flight controller (One running BetaFPV firmware, and the other running BetaFlight Firmware). You, the customer, decides which one to buy. The FC running BetaFPV’s firmware will allow the drone to “position hold” or at least hover in place. The other FC running BetaFlight Firmware will NOT have the “position hold” feature, but will allow you to customize and tune your drone. Most of the FPV industry is running BetaFlight firmware on their drone, and support is easily obtainable from the community.
      The Aquila16 no option, but the BetaFPV firmware(hence why it can also “position hold”). The downside is the Aquila has limited customization and tuning capabilities. I hope this info helps.

      @@OneManUnmanned thank you so so so much. It’s an absolute minefield and hearing your take is gold. Thank you again. I think you have confirmed it with me, Cetus x it is. I could always just buy this one seeing as I’d have everything anyway. Thanks again

      @@grantc8353 I actually got the Cetus X myself just two weeks ago and it's been an absolute blast, I highly recommend you install a Drone Simulator on your PC and learn how to fly Acro/Manual mode that way, because the Cetus (being a 2s drone) can really rip outside and you'll want to know how to control it
      You'll have a lot of fun either way, it's a great kit

    WHAT IS BETTER? TINYGO 4K OR AQUILA16 THIS 2023? ANSWER PLEASE

      I just published my 1st flight impressions on this drone…I’ll leave it linked below. If you have absolutely no flying experience, the Aquila16 might help you learn many aspects of flying, including getting familiar with the Remote, and the drone. If you have access to a Sim, you’re better off with the TinyGo, as you can grow with that drone a lot longer. ua-cam.com/video/ph8otWH5Blw/v-deo.html

    looks very similar to the design of the DJI Avata

    I would add the following: The Aquila16 copter is designed only for the BETAFPV Configurator and for the remote controller that comes in the kit, which means that if someone has another remote controller with ELRS, then you won’t be able to customize the copter for yourself in Betaflight and therefore not all modes will work. More over, it does not work with AMD processor, so it can not be connected to PC with AMD one. There is no boozer, the search for a copter is in question. For an apartment, you can’t turn off the air mode, it will stick to the walls and fall where you will disarm it in order to unstuck. There is also regular self-disarming, i.e. turns off whenever it wants. The camera quality is very poor even for an analogue one. The battery is detached when the copter falls or hits an obstacle. The design is beautiful, but the quality is not good and unfinished. If to buy it then only as a kit, why would I need the kit if I have good glasses and RC. I just bought a copter and got these unexpected troubles. I don’t see the point in paying such money for that.
