Honestly, even when I marched, I probably wouldn't have been able to play this book. It's incredibly difficult. That being said, it's also the kind of book where if it gets fuzzy at any point, it seems hard to recover and I feel like that's what happened last night. They still have tonight and tomorrow to hit it 100%. You guys have this! Now go beat BD!
for sure--i'd also add that this book is such a high wire act that if the judge isn't perfectly in front of the snares, for example, when those 4s come, even if it IS clean, it might sound not quite there, if that makes sense? love everything about this line.

Snare tuning got cranked and sounds worse than it did last week, it’s so dry. Making that drastic of a change in tuning in the last few days of the season has to be difficult for the snares. No cowbell and using the met a TON for the last week of the season. It just doesn’t make sense.

Well to be fair they DID beat BD in perc. 2nd place behind Cavies. But overall, yes you're right

They were dirty. Especially at finals. The other top 3 were WAY CLEANER and way more tuned it. Even Crown.
