Hello Blueridge I am from Guam I came across your video talking about coins from the time I saw your videos about coins I’ve been collecting coins so I bought me magnifier. So my question is when I find a coins that are valuable where do I report to?

I have a 2010 Philadelphia which is how I got here because I googled what was this rare looking nickel I have. I need to do more research because I have quite a few of them ranging from 2006-2018 so far Philadelphia no Denver’s. I’m not well versed on currency collecting and values of these coins, I’m just cleaning out an old purse lol.
I really enjoy air your video's. Most certainly the nickel ones. They fascinate me. Lol. I'm from Wilkes Barre PA and I roll hunt the nickle on a regular basis. Here on the easy coast I find a huge amount of pre 60 for some odd reason. Thanks for all the knowledge.

You always say send out for grading to pcgs and ngc. Well you have to pay monthly fees and there alot! Plus upwards of $75 a coin to grade. So why cant we use anacs and icg for grading?
I saw an offer in coin world for PCGS where you get a one year membership for $249 and that comes with five coin gradings. I see a lot of people mention that they sent in five coins...that's likely why.

OK first off you do not have to belong to PCGS nor NGC . You could become a member of ANA for about half of the membership of either of the ones above . With this membership you can get coins graded at NGC for about $25 each plus a one price shipping cost regardless of how many coins you would submit , this is usually $ 8 .
With regards to ANACS , a lot of auction houses don't necessarily think that high of them and this translates to a lower price for the coins . I personally do and will have coins graded by them as I believe that their standards are as high as NGC or PCGS .

I’ve heard you say a few times now how to tell silver from nickel and you can tell everyone they never have to drop, test or weigh an coin to know. A small container of water place a known Kennedy half copper nickel coin in with either a 90% or 40% flat on bottom and look straight down. The silver is white where the nickel looks almost black like the cameo proof look. It mirrors so can’t see color only reflection. Try this.

There is no way in hell that you could find anything above an MS 64 in pocket change if it has been in circulation for even an hour , you would find nicks or scratches on it .
The only possible way to get above an MS 63 is to pull one out of an uncirculated set from the mint, and there is no guarantee that you would find anything higher than an MS 65.
true, thats why i dont bother looking for errors. they need to be in high grade to be worth more than face value. also they are near non existent and you'll never find them.
@@wildbanjoman99 don't get me wrong . You can find errors in change but as you stated , they are worth considerable more in higher MS states . The fly in the ointment is the type of errors you find .
If you find a minor error in a high MS it would probably be worth no more than a regular coin.
The only variable in this is your time and how much it's worth .

Wouldn't Uncirculated Mint sets be the Best place to look for these high quality nickels ?
Yes but sometimes the mint set just has uncirculated coins that have a lot of nicks and scratches but other times very nice coins. Uncirculated rolls and mint sets are probably still best option though

Hey blueridge this might sound dumb but how do know if a coin is punched 100% and with full steps are you saying the can't have a nick or any flaw at all. Sorry I'm still learning live your videos
I have a 2005 Ocean View Nickle. Its very odd. I know nothing about coins but knew it felt and looked different than any other nickles. I've also looked on line for known flaws and cannot find anyone who has the flaws mine has.
First it's thicker than the other 2005 coins I've looked at. Its also a different color on the outside around the coin as well as the copper showing some on the front and the back.
The main thing is that it looks like they stamped it harder than other nickles and it made the ring on the outside lip more pronounced. I don't know if I explained that right but I don't know the technical name for any of it. Its not in great condition but you can definitely tell that it's different. If someone knows anything about it, I'd love to know or if you're interested in photos I'd be more than happy to send them. Thanks
