I am thoroughly intrigued by your video. The painting instructor I had only used a white base. Of course I was a novice. I see that the effect of underpainting is enormous! Thank you so much!
I am 46 and have been using oils since I was 13. I know the theory of using complementary bases, analogous bases, etc. Normally I would use a complementary base and never the same colors as the subject (it would just be too hard on the eyes!) but for some reason I love the one you did with the bright fiery base! It's the bright fiery light that you got to poke through that did it for me. Maybe I'll try doing complementary for the subject itself, but if I plan on doing any brightly lit areas I'll use some colors that are fiery like the light I'll use in those areas! Ooooh! This is gonna be fun!
It's so funny, I actually really like the warm base! I love the contrast more with the teal when you're starting the painting tho! These are really pretty
Your videos are real lessons. I took your two courses at Doméstika which are very didactic and great. It would be great if you had classes here on you tube for supporters in addition to patreon. I live in Brazil and patreon is complicated for me.
O ensino de artes no Brasil é pifio. Aliás, o sistema educacional no Brasil como um todo é uma piada. Somos bons na malandragem, pq isso se ensina o tempo todo 😢😅 (rindo de nervoso)
The way you paint is so so beautiful and makes me reach into my screen and take a bite 😂🥰 and I love how you painted two pieces in order to show how this works 👏
hi. vi un podcast con una portada hermosa. entré a la web del proyecto solo por eso y asi llegue a tu instagram y termine viendo este video, esta super bueno. que lindo lo que haces. saludos!
I know oil paints are notorious for yellowing, compared to acrylic and other water-based media. With some whites start to get noticeably yellower after just a few months. I’m really curious how your vibrant oil paint hold up their colors after several years?
Espero no te haya molestado mi sugerencia. Un saludo y gracias.
Just found your channel… Thanks for the video. I’ll be checking out more! Only thing I would like to say is perhaps if you would talk a little slower it would be easier to understand.😊❤
Just a question, what will make the colours pop more? Give the painting more vibrancy if I want to do abstract painting and not realism? Do i use complementary base or analogue colour? Thank you !
Hello, Alai. Thanks a lot for your tutorials. I've been following you on IG for a long time 🙂 I would like a tutorial about brushwork from you. I never use oil painting but would love to practice and achieve a painterly style on digital but I'm confused about brushwork/brushstroke. But watching a lot of painting videos, I assume that we should paint with short strokes and not long strokes? My brushwork is just too uniform and when I do random strokes, it looks ugly and 💩 😢
Eehh.. I'm sorry but mm, the oil style can't be painted with crayons?... I've been wanting to do it for a long time, but... I don't know where they hang and I want to learn how to do it with crayons

Wow.. you are effectively demonstrated the difference.. thank you.. i would like to paint this and will definitely share on instagram..❤️

It's so helpful to see a real-time demo of the technique and the side-by-side comparison at the end. Thank you for such an informative video!

I love your art style. Are you planning to create more videos showing how to paint a toy or a plushie?

Can i apply it on acrylic paint?
