    So she started doing something about this even before Elizabeth Taylor?

      Yes, way before and has never gotten credit.

      @@nickyes2292 Mamie Van Doren, who did many early appearances and was Grand Marshall in the Gay Pride Parade as a tribute to her service. Several of their appearances are on You
      Tube.

      @@aeichler What a shame they were never given credit. I love Elizabeth Taylor but the others I wish were more appreciated for what they did too.

      @@nickyes2292 These were the days before Rock Hudson. That's when Taylor got involved.
